  1. That's the thing... Holiday World doesn't really offer free drinks. The price of the drinks is built into the admission ticket. If it weren't for the free drinks, the gate there would be EXTRAORDINARILY overpriced.
  2. This is a family-friendly forum. Your comments have nothing to do with the serious topic being discussed at hand. Please review the Terms of Service that you agreed to upon registering for these forums before posting again. This is your one and only warning.
  3. The meal deals kinda suck...I was thinking something along the lines like..you pay an extra amount for your season pass..and you swipe your card...and it gets you so many free meals per visit...so many drinks...etc. It seems by some of the comments that many on here have never been to Disney. I must admit, I've never done the meal deal. I remember a survey that they did through the Paramount Panel asked if we'd be willing to pay more for a season pass if it included a meal per visit. Nothing ever came of it and I highly doubt that Cedar Fair would be interested in something like that. I don't know if they still do this, but I know at Kentucky Kingdom you'd get a 10% discount on food with a SIX season pass. I always thought that would be a really good idea for Kings Island so people would be more enticed to both eat in the park and purchase a season pass.
  4. They do... they have the Gold Pass Meal Deals.
  5. The Park at the Park for FREE promotion ends May 25th.
  6. I mean... I'm with anyone who says that KI or any amusement park should lower their food prices, but if you look at other similar parks, Ki's pricing is simply in line with theirs. Buy food and a drink at a Reds game then we'll talk business. Plus, whenever I eat and get a drink, it ends up being right around $15, which is roughly what I'd spend at a place like Applebee's with tip included. I can see where it really hits the pocketbook if you're purchasing for your family, but for an individual is not THAT bad...
  7. May I video tape this event? This event may be video taped ONLY WITH THE WRITTEN CONSENT OF ROBBIE KNIEVEL'S PEOPLE. Only major news outlets will be video taping it. There will be signs posted asking you to comply with this. We also ask that following the event that you do not post illegal "bootlegged" video clips of the jump. Such videos will be removed from the forums.
  8. The media kit fro the Robbie Knievel event at Kings Island is online. Thought I'd share. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/knievel/index.html They're doing a great job making the media section of visitkingsisland.com a lot nicer looking. Ryan
  9. From what I understand, that is in the plans right now. Not sure EXACTLY what time, but the festivities start a few hours early in the parking lot itself, so there won't be a bum rush right before the jump. Primarily preferred parking will be affected. KI will undoubtedly be crowded that day, so I suppose they would simply use the overflow that they normally use on particularly crowded days.
  10. To be honest, the only song I really recognized was the opening number, "County Line" by Sugarland.
  11. Helbig and I met the general manager of Waldameer when we spoke at the Great Ohio Coaster Club's Christmas party. He seemed like a pretty nice guy. I'll never forget him because he ultimately handed out about a half-inch thick pile of brochures, press releases, and photos of RF II and Waldameer. Second only to the lovely and talented Mary Lou Rosemeyer from Kennywood who went for almost a whole inch. lol
  12. I totally agree. I mean, it doesn't have to be anything elaborate like Tomb Raider, but lights and sounds and maybe some audio clips. I'm sure that can't be cheap, but it also can't be TOO expensive...

  14. Who knows? I mean, clearly weekend 1 was a work in process, but the work on the themeing could be done now... I really don't know. I'd hope that they'd utilize something with such potential. I mean, who else could really theme a top spin?
  15. I think so too. Right now I think they're trying to get the ride back to a reliable state. As you saw it's far from it. My guess is if they get it back to an acceptable reliability and prove that there is still a market for the ride then they will add more or better theming to it. Just a guess though. I think you hit the nail right on the head, sir.
  16. Use this thread to post any questions you may have about the Knievel jump. I'll contact the park and get you official answers. Who is 'Kaptain' Robbie Knievel? Robbie Knievel is one of the most famous motorcycle daredevils alive today. He's the son of the legendary Evel Knievel, who attributed part of his fame to jumping 14 Greyhoud buses in Kings Island's parking lot 33 years ago. Who, What, and When? Robbie Knievel will attempt to surpass his fathers record by jumping over 24 Coke Zero trucks in Kings Island's parking lot on May 24th, 2008 at 7:00pm. Will Knievel's jump be a world record? It's quite possible. Knievel currently holds the record for a ramp to ramp motorcycle jump of 231ft. Depending on how far down the ramp he lands and if his jump is successful, you may see history in the making! How much will it cost? This event is FREE with park admission and to season passholders. To purchase admission tickets, go to Kings Island's official web site VisitKingsIsland.com. Can I just watch it from the parking lot? The view of the jump will be obstructed from most of the parking lot, so guests must enter the park in order to enter the viewing area. What else is going on that day? In addition to the Knievel jump, Kings Island will offer regular operation of their many rides and attractions. Additionally, Hot Island Rhythms will make its debut on the 24th. Also, there will be additional live entertainment at the jump site in the hours leading up to the event. Additionally, we will see a return of the Kings of Komedy Clown Band from the 1980s and 1990s, a very spectacular airplane flyover show, and a performance by the Mason Jumprope Team. Will there be food and beverages sold in the special viewing area? Yes, food, beverages and merchandise will be sold in the special viewing area for the Knievel jump. Will Boomerang Bay be open that day? Yes, Boomerang Bay will make its 2008 debut on May 24th. Please be advised that the hours of operation for Boomerang Bay Waterpark Resort will be 11am to 6pm on May 24th in order for everyone to get to the Knievel jump site on that day.
  17. Cedar Fair was able to acquire the rights to use the Nickelodeon franchise for four years after the purchase of Paramount Parks with an option to renew. We really don't have any details beyond that. However, I wouldn't be too shocked if they did renew the license. "Removed" is a relative term. KCKC was removed because they installed Tomb Raider, however the other one became Wild Thornberry's River Adventure. It was closed for a long time for renovation, so it's almost like a newer ride in itself. You got me on the "flop" thing. I haven't ridden SOB yet this year, so maybe someone else can chime in. However, I do know that beyond the typical retracking there wasn't plans for any major renovations this year.
  18. Yep -- just remember that if she doesn't want to ride something, don't try to entice her. Studies have shown that children who are in any way forced or influenced to ride a ride are far more likely to attempt to exit the ride while in motion. That's never good news. Make sure you let us know how it goes!
  19. What kind of details are you looking for? I could probably find anything out that you need.
  20. 1 - Ditch the Backlot thing and bring back the Eagles and the Tiques. 2 - Roaming Entertainment 3 - Working themeing in Flight of Fear 4 - Season Pass Preview Days 5 - Nickelodeon 'Slime Zone' in full capacity.
  21. Remember -- The Knievel jump is May 24th, 2008 at 7pm! It's FREE with admission to Kings Island!! How many of you intend to go?
  22. My sister did Star Trek: The Experience last year and loved it. I always hoped (and hope) to do it some day.
  23. Were the signs changeable like Cedar Points? I remember the stationary signs... like the one that said Top Gun was something like 2 hours from the entrance, and I know Flight of Fear had a sign saying something like "It will be approximately one hour until we have you under our control." However, neither of these signs could be altered.
  24. Just remember that the Platinum Pass encompasses anything that the Gold Pass offers.
  25. Not in the same fashion as CP, but they did have the old "The wait for ______ is approximately _____ from this point" signs.
