It was Border Cafe'. They wanted to be Chipolte, but they weren't.

Lovely and talented? Yes. But the media updates are generally done by Jennifer.

Let's not forget that the $30 seasonal charge for parking is completely reasonable. Just stick to that.. Also, don't rule out the idea that the extra $1 is designated for parking lot improvements...

I'm not sure if this applies to flat rides, but I know coasters need to be cycled many many times before they can be opened to the GP. -
On the last day of the season last year, Jeff said that Fearfest would get a major revamp this year. Of course, this was before the whole sale thing came to be, so let's just hope that's still the case.

Wrong... e-newsletter member got tickets for $9.99 last year.

I just thought I'd let you guys know that I got an email from Jeff Siebert and he says hi. For those of you who never had the opportunity to meet Jeff, you really missed out. Up until early December of last year, he was the marketing communications manager for PKI. He was widely known for being one of the most enthusiastic people in the whole amusement community, which was a well-deserved title. Jeff is now the director of communications for Schlitterbahn, which is a waterpark chain in Texas. These parks include: New Braunfels, South Padre Island & Galveston Island,TX. Schlitterbahn labels themselves as the 'first family in waterparks', and rightly so in a lot of peoples' opinions. Up until his departure, the "Olsen Twins" of PKI were always Jeff and Maureen, and we as a community are very fortunate to still have Maureen on our side. lol Everyone have a great day, Ryan

True, but I'm guessing Saturday will take away some of Friday's life. I'm going Friday and Sunday personally.

Opening day is typically busy, but hopefully the fact that it's Good Friday will hinder some people from going.

Ha... so since it's a hybrid and not a woody, we can say that it's not one of the tallest 3 woodies in the world, but rather it's a moderately tall rollercoaster. There goes that record. Then again, AE is a steel coaster, and that's a hybrid.

Both times that we've toured NC, Jennifer wasn't far behind with her digital cam to take some PKI.com photos. Happy 300th!

Is Cedar Fair is the new owner of Paramount Parks?
BoddaH1994 replied to CoasterXtreme's topic in Kings Island
I've always heard figures of 300 million for PKI alone and around 1.2 for the chain, but you do make a valid point. If CP were to acquire a company as large as themselves, it would be more like a merger than anything. I disagree with that. Granted, on the surface it looks like they'd double their revenue, etc etc etc. But if that theory is true, wouldn't Six Flags be on top? They own more parks than any chain, so they SHOULD have the biggest revenue. The problem is they're TOO big, which is something a CP/PP merger could face. If SF only owned their most profitable parks and cut out all of the fat, they'd probably be a big competitor... much bigger than they are now. You're absolutely right. Viacom has always piddled with dumping the parks. Then again (and not to beat a WAY dead horse) it's all about the growth. When PP was owned by Paramount (Tristar) they saw it as a great opportunity to promote their movies, which just never really panned out. -
No more hostility, people... it's freaking season pass processing. Not worth killing eachother over.

Is Cedar Fair is the new owner of Paramount Parks?
BoddaH1994 replied to CoasterXtreme's topic in Kings Island
Take a look at their balance sheet for yourself: http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bs?s=FUN&annual ^ This guy needs to come around more often. He seems to know where it's at. -
If you're talking about the e-newsletter, then the job that was posted on this site a few months ago had the contract starting in April, so I'd expect it around opening day, I suppose...

Plankton's Plunge is no more than 30-50ft or so. Both sides of the Avatar will be painted by opening day! -
With less than two weeks until the grand opening of Paramount's Kings Island, and more importantly, the debut of Nickelodeon Universe, we figured it was time for one last look at the "ride-fetus" that will surely be the 2006 Golden Ticket Award winner! Some things you will notice is: Danny Phantom's Flyers being tested using bags of ice for weight! Final touches on Plankton's Plunge. Avatar, with it's car now stocked on the track waiting for it's finishing paint job. New colors for everything! Also, we were told to relay to you that two of the new food stands for Nickelodeon Universe will be called "Ice Cream" and "Snow Cones" and they'll serve... well, ice cream and snow cones. Don't forget that opening weekend, there's a character breakfast at 10:00 in the Festhaus. Traditional breakfast foods such as French Toast and sausage will be served. The cost is $9.99. A special thank you goes out once again to PKI's Marketing Dream Team v2.0, Maureen and Jennifer for spending another afternoon with us and making this update possible. Thank you! Click here to see the photos! Regards, Ryan PKICentral.com -- Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.. the offseason is ticking away!!

TR: BGW / Myrtle Beach / SFoG Goliath **LONG**
BoddaH1994 replied to Delirium_Guy's topic in Trip Reports
Todd, Are you saying that your experience at SFOG is better than last time? Have they shaken things up to the point where there's hope, or has this park always been pretty good? -
You see, I disagree with that. I think that anyone who would vandalize absolutely knows that it's wrong to do. Not knowing how to diffrentiate between right and wrong in such situations would classify someone as a sociopath. I do however agree that it has to do with reinforcement. The authorities (whoever they may be in that situation) need to bank on the fact that these kids will be punished by their parents. In the end, the most a kid is going to have is a call for their parents to pick them up 90% of the time. If that doesn't instill any type of fear, then there isn't too much incentive to do what is right.
