He must be REALLY busy I have to be honest...sometimes reading this site is a true exercise in restraint I think you know that she very well knows that her brother isn't the ONLY accountant for P&G. I just got an email from Maureen and she said that the Fox19 morning news will once again be airing a special about PKI on May 22nd. This time it will feature the landscaping department. Don't forget to check it out.

I don't buy the fact that it's a coaster quite yet. Or an Intamin one as someone mentioned in the other thread. We simply don't know and can't tell. Of course, if they are starting construction THIS early, expect something big Big BIG.

I got the email as well. They got killer Gold Pass benefits. Along the lines of 10% off anything in the park using Scooby Bucks and a free ticket for a friend for every 5th visit they made. How cool would all of that be?

Yes and no. Gas prices do hurt the overall economy but PKI theoretically could profit from it because people within a few hundred mile radius might decide to go to PKI instead of other desinations like Florida. Of course, it does hurt that people from farther away may have that same mentality. A 2 day vacation to Lexington? Sounds lame.. even for you, Charles.

I'm still weary about the entire project. Does PKI really draw enough "out of towners" to fill the hotel? Is having a destination hotel so far away from downtown a successful business venture? Only time will tell.

Does it have to run to be considered a coaster? If so, I'm thinking KI currently has an issue with 218'. <G> That's actually a fantastic question, no necessarily in regards to SOB, but more along the lines of Steel Dragon 2000.

They really should have tossed a few more million in it and made it 215 feet tall. I mean if you are going to build a coaster BUILD A FREAKING COASTER!!! Be the tallest in the land for a few years, just to **** off Kings Island. :-) -adam12 Considering that SOB is 218ft, I'm sure PKI would have no problem with 215ft.

Did anyone else see Fox19's segment on the "Voyager" at "Holiday Park" on the 4:30am news? Nothing really to report except for the name misstatements above. lol

I don't think that they're necessarily "burnt out" already, but I think Mikewhy hit the nail on the head with the word "overworked". It happens at my work all the time. It's of course no excuse to be rude or impolite, but it seems as though some places are genuinely understaffed which makes for a really stressful situation. Hopefully it's straighten out more as the season progresses.

I don't know how much I would trust your sources, but I am willing to say that they guessed correctly.

who the heck is Ruth Voss ? I COULD have the wrong person here, but I think she's the lady who originated The Beast walk back. She used to ride The Beast every morning to loosen her joints up for her arthritus, and would eventually invite some guest friends to ride with her, thus becoming the walkback.... or I could have the wrong person entirely.

A bunch of us are heading down to Holiday World and Beech Bend for Holiwood Nights and Rumblefest over Memorial Day weekend. I was just wondering if anyone else had plans on attending these events. Let's just hope that the moral of the story is that if you put real heart, hands and mind into a park, you can turn it around overnight. ...Either that or it'll be a financial disaster to staff all of those people. Let's hope for the first.

Wherever you get a season pass it's usually the same price, but that rule doesn't hole true for daily admission tickets. I would however advise purchasing online in order to speed up the process once you get to the park. Hope this helps, Ryan

"Who Tragedy" was that they were warming up inside the Coloseum. It was festival seating, which means you pick your own seat and someone opened one door with many people waiting to get into the arena. The ironic part is, they opened one door because they thought that would be the most "organized" way to do it.

I was really disappointed when I found out that drinks weren't included in the Happy Days meals anymore. I think the food there is really good, and well worth $9-$10, but not $13.

Oh no, you have Jerry Cough all wrong. He'd operate the park into a depression over the course of two months and then let it sit vacant, waiting to die. He, of course, would make a killing selling his RVs out of his "newly expanded Mason location".
