  1. Isn't business grand? You can either vote for the board members, or choose not to vote at all. Roy E. Disney started a campaign to get people NOT to vote for Michael Eisner, and had something like a 30% success rate.
  2. Don't forget that they also did the "Breakfast With The Characters" a few years ago as a Gold Pass promotion.
  3. Craig always seemed to have a level head about the direction of the park, so I think he'll definitely be a great asset to the company on a corperate level. I haven't met this Tim Fisher guy, but from what you guys are saying, he seems like a good person. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for this park.
  4. We actually had a long conversation with Maureen about the White Christmas Express experience at Winterfest. Without going into any real detail, they did surveys about how people felt about the different attractions, and (at least my personal take on the convo) was that people wanted more lights. Take that for what it's worth.
  5. If they removed the train station, it would be a clear shot back. They could work their way around WWC, not unlike how SFKK does it... have the midway run along the ride.
  6. It did until about 5 years ago... much better ride now. I highly recommend it.
  7. ^ You do make a very good point. No one wants to see the train go, but there is a lot of very flat, very valuable land between the train station and CDBB.
  8. Yeah, the video's a little past due, but give the boy some credit, this was his first one... and a darn good job I might add.
  9. Being a claims rep, it would be difficult to imagine that the park or any park would put themselves into this type of situation. Yes, the injuries sustained would be as a result of actions taken by the plaintiff but if it is an action that is normal and customary, the park would be on it for liability. You're absolutely right. It would make for a very interesting court case. One one side, having your hands up is customary, but on the other side, there are clear signs asking you to keep your hands down.
  10. No it won't. You people are making Avatar out to be some EXTRAORDINARY new type of ride. Its a Disko....with a bunny hop. Really, not that special. Also, for those on that tour, can you confirm what my friend from food service told me yesteryday? Is it true that they removed the tunnel from Beastie....er.....Fairly Odd Coaster? I can not confirm nor deny that. Simply because I didn't notice. However, it seems as though construction on FOC was minimal with the exception of painting the trains, so I doubt it's true. Also, for those of you who STILL want to rag on Avatar, don't forget that PGA is getting basically the SAME ride with the SAME dimensions... and that's their new attraction. We're getting the Avatar, plus two more new attractions and a totally renovated kids area. Once again, this one's for the kids, so just let it go. (Although I must say that Avatar seems a lot more tempting than I had imagined it. What's a "kiddy" ride to us is a major attraction out in California.)
  11. She did mention that they had a reasonable amount of flexability about opening the gates early on particularly busy days. I'm sure the same goes for the lot. It's all up to security.
  12. A few extra notes since they're on my mind: First of all, the ACE walkback will in fact be conducted at the old season pass entrance to the left of the main gate. There will be a sign there for its meeting place, so if you're a member, make sure you bring your card. Also, the spotlights will remain on the tower but will only be used for special occasions.
  13. Today Maureen, along with her new partner in crime Jennifer, were so kind as to give the staff of PKIC the opportunity to see some of the latest progress on the New for 2006 Nickelodeon Universe! Some things include: A nearly complete Danny Phantom's Flyers A nearly-complete Plankton's Plunge The MUCH BIGGER THAN EXPECTED Avatar! Building and concession construction. Several offseason rehab photos from around the park. As stated above, the Flyers and Plunge look like they are nearly complete. Avatar is vertical but has yet to see its skater car. Overall, the area is looking beautiful. Click here to see the new NU construction photos! A very special thank you goes out to Maureen and Jennifer for spending the afternoon with us. You guys will always have a place at our table. Regards, Ryan PKICentral.com - "You see?? This is where all of the rumors get started!"
  14. Since you seem to be the most qualified to answer this question, can you confirm or deny that it would be almost impossible for PKI to get the animals back since they removed them in the past, as stated above?
  15. For a short time WAH actually had a theater as well. They ran several animal involved shows. You sure you're not thinking of the Timberwolf? I saw a bird show there when I was in grade school.
  16. I agree... I think it's more like a spinning wild mouse than a flat ride.
  17. The 'P' on the building was the symbol for the Peter's Cartridge Company, which also still has their name engraved over the entrance. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the P on the tower is done in tiles too. If I remember correctly (which I may not) I think it's a metallic P that's mounted to the smoke stack.
  18. Maureen's been out of town. Job hunting? Another sign of park sale? No, nothing like that at all. The 'P' on the building was the symbol for the Peter's Cartridge Company, which also still has their name engraved over the entrance.
  19. Below you will find a photo of the old plant. Since we're on the subject, if you are anywhere near the plant feel free to drive by or even take a stroll down the bike path the runs right next to it, but do not attempt to enter the property. Obviously it's a good way to get arrested, but when it comes down to it, it's VERY dangerous in there and no one needs to get hurt. If you really want to see photos of the inside, click here.
  20. Actually the munitions factory is located up the river, still standing.........somewhat. He's right... the Kings Powder Co. is up the river actually in the city of Kings Mills. It's closer to Kings High School (hence the lead problem they had in the football field).
  21. Maureen's been out of town.
  22. I haven't the slightest clue, but that will definitely be a big deciding factor. I'm guessing that it'll be similar to the format we have now which is running 20-50megs depending on the video.
  23. I assure you that we have more than enough bandwidth to do anything that you can conceive. That's the beauty of having such a wonderful relationship with our host company, Nexigen. Joe -- If we do it, future updates would be available in WMV as well as IPOD and PSP compatable formats, but if you guys want the current videos in compatable formats, that's doable too.
