Hey Designerbuilder, why do you care what they're putting in? Won't this "park" that you are building be state of the art and attract all of us away from PKI?
-
I agree with you. As odd as it may sound, there's definitely a grey area between theme parks and TV based entertainment.
-
I don't quite understand why you guys are attacking DragonLord for just doing his job. I know that him telling you to tuck your shirt in may seem like he's flexing the power that they've given him, but hey, if you're jealous, apply to work in security.

Well, I agree that a Water Works expansion is a dumb idea. That's just my personal opinion because Water Works just isn't my cup of tea. As far as comparing PKI to CP goes, that's apples and oranges. PKI has been in existance for 31 years while CP has been around for what? 110 years? Imagine trying to compare a person's accomplishments who is just a few years out of college to a person who is 110 years old. Think of it that way. You can like either park more for any reason you want, but just keep in mind that CP has had almost 5 times the amount of time that PKI has had to expand and grow.

Hey, I was just thinking, is there some sort of mechanism that stops the platform from coming to a final hault with the riders upside down? I'm not quite sure about the ride specs, but it seems possible that it could be top heavy.
-
A 4D would be an awsome addition to the park. Unfortunately, since Arrow isn't in good shape right now, it's unlikely. For those of you who rode X, was it opened all day? I've heard that it has a horrible track record and it's really common for it to be closed frequently.

I'm not sure how badly PKI would really like to run The Beach out of business. If they were at all worried about them, they would have just bought them out. Imagine the season pass sales if they could offer free admission to the Beach waterpark as well? I think the main point of Water Works from a business perspective would be to draw the people who were trying to decide between the two parks. With admission to PKI, a person could ride some of the best rides in the area and ride several excellent water slides if they wanted to. Now, I haven't been to the Beach in about eight years, but I do remember it being much better than Water Works. Obviously, some of the rides and attractions are superior, but mainly the "tropical" atmosphere is what I liked.

<< Do any of you remember the paintings on the ground that used to be painted that showed where the lines should go when they were out of the que.>> There are still faint lines that run to the queue of The Vortex. I haven't seen any Vortex logos, so I assume that the originals were paved over. I also remember the foot prints that ran to The Beast. I think they were red. I also remember AE having some sort of ensignia. Do you remember what it was?

I'm a regular at the park, so I know that the employees are some of the best there are. The only problem is, the non-local guests don't know that. It's sad to say, but a visual impression is the first impression that you make, so even if you are extremely polite and do everything you can for guests, they may still look down on you if you look like a slob. As far as Walkmen go, I think that it's pretty obvious that any employee with a Walkman is on break, so I don't have a problem with that. Of course, if they caught a ride operator with one, they should be fired. They have way too much responsibility to have distractions like that. As for cell phones, I don't really have a problem with them, so long as it doesn't interfere with their jobs. More or less, they should be able to carry them, but not talk on them on the clock. I think it's everyone's right to carry a cell phone. Some people feel naked without them, and they're excellent for emergencies. I currently work for Best Buy (so don't worry, I hear ya, PKILvr) and we are written up or fired for even having them on us. Whether they're even turned on or not.

Kings Island wants to make a park that's fun for everybody, even those who don't like, or are afraid of coasters. CP seems to take a different approach. While both seem to be working, CP seems to be directed toward a certain type of person. PKI will get a nice big steel some day, just wait it out. They know what they're doing.

I agree with you Chef. I just think that there should be at least one adult oriented show. If a family of four goes, and the kids love it, but the parents are bored out of their minds, they probably won't return as often.

Hey, I'm glad you had a good time! The Beast at night is an awsome experience. I mean, most of us have ridden The Beast countless times, and we can tell you that there's a specific thrill to it at night. Not only do you have the regular thrill of the ride, but you also have this feeling of being lost in the woods.

I imagine that if TR:TR breaks down, it doesn't just stop, it has to do crazy things. Look at the momentum it has to burn off.
-
For the most part, I agree with you. The only thing is, I have waited for upwards of a half hour for SOB and have hadely waited at all for The Beast. I figured the logical assumption would be that the bigger, taller, faster one would draw some attention away. Of course, I have noticed that the efficency has improved greatly this year, so that has a lot to do with it.
-
How long were you stuck on there?
-
Something that magnifies the gigantic superstructure of SOB.
-
I just think that SOB has drawn a lot of its attention away.

I agree with you guys about the fence at The Vortex entrance. It is a pain. The only problem is, I'm sure it's there for a reason. Since people are inherently stupid, the line probably won't follow the wall, it would stick out into the middle of the road. I've had trouble with Face/Off as well. It's not so much people jump queues as it is groups getting split up and the person or people who are behind try to catch up with the rest buy bypassing the others. I may understand if your group is split up when entering the queue that you ask permission to pass someone up to get with your group. I've seen someone "catch up" with someone who was nearly on the platform when they were under the covered area. Of course, the right thing to do would be to have the group reunite back where the second group is, but I'm sure that's far too lofty of a concept for these people. -Ryan

Nope, he's right. According to PKI.com, an individual season pass right now is 99.99. You're looking at an additional family member pass which is 79.99. -Ryan

ummmm...someone needs to take their pills... As far as the basketballs go, I agree with you there. I'm tired of those stray balls flying past people almost tripping them. They should make the game to win them VERY hard so only people who really know how to handle them could get them.
-
Well, when someone is going to line jump, they make it kind of obvious because they're usually trying to catch up with their other group of friends. If you're between the two groups, just stand side by side with the people that you're with. They'll stand there and keep trying to bump past you and say "excuse me" to try to get you out of the way. Act like you don't notice them, and if you're persistant, they'll make asses of themeselves. Finally, when they "get" your attention, remind them of the rules very loudly. -Ryan

I agree, Fridays have been a great day to go this season. We're talking about Bring A Friend Free day specifically though.

Another vague idea would be based off the announcement that the search and rescue mission for a lost train was abandoned. Maybe a story about where it went and what happened to it. Perhaps you could even have it about the ride as a ride. Like have kids going through the woods, and end up at it. I'm sure there is a story to be written there. I know that I'm going back on my earlier post by putting ideas on here, but maybe we can put "general direction" ideas on here and PM specific ideas to Charles. That way we can publicly express what we think is a good overall idea for the story.
-
That's a good idea Charles! I'm PM you with my idea. I would suggest that anyone else who has any input do the same thing so we can have an element of surprise. -Ryan

Hey, thanks for the info. Winterfest seemed like a good time, but I'm sure Fearfest is much better. --Ryan
