"A coaster is a different ride when it is in a different location." That ride is NOTHING like raptor!!

I wonder what made them change the name? At Cedar Point it's called "Cedar Point & LAKE ERIE RAILROAD", why would Cedar Fair chage KI's?

Check out this link to the Sandusky Register, there was a Train Derailment near Cedar Point. If you click the pictures you can see CP in the background. This usually happens in the same spot every couple years, when the wind blows hard enough it pushes the train cars off the track and in to Sandusky Bay. CLICK HERE

I was thinking the same thing, this whole thing sounds silly. I also believe the Unions were a LARGE reason for Geauga Lake's closing. When they were building the new water park Cedar Fair hired NON Union construction workers, and the Unions Picketed GL & Cedar Fair. That summer a LARGE AMOUNT of group outings were canceled at GL & CP because of the local Unions protesting. GL proabably would have been shut down eventualy, but I believe this pushed it a little faster.

They bring around that stupid blow up rat and stand around. They picketed the bookstore that was being built at the mall, and they were out in front of walmart once. But I don't understand it, when I shop at walmart I SEE UNION WORKERS SHOPPING there. What do you all think about Unions?

Since this doesn’t affect Universal’s Islands of Adventure, I don't see this as a BIG DEAL?? There is NO marvel comics rides or attractionas at Univeral Studios anyway. We were there a few months ago, the Spiderman ride is awsome!!

Maybe there just trying to see if they can get some quick cash, and if they don' sell they will relocate them.

Living here in Sandusky, I always thought Cedar Point should have a New Years Eve Party. Instead of the Ball dropping in Times Square, the Space Spiral could drop counting down the seconds!! They could have live bands, a couple food stands open, fireworks, and maybe rides like Disaster Transport & Max Air running. I'm not sure what they would have to charge for something like that, but I am willing to bet if they charged $5/person ALOT of people would attend the event. It could become a north-coast tradition, going to CP to watch the Space Spiral Drop on New Years Eve!! Within a few years it could turn into a HUGE event!! Just my dream...

Thats what I'm trying to say, why is Kalahari expanding and at the same time Castaway Bay is CLOSING 2 days a week. I usually drive by the waterparks a few times a week, and your lucky to see a handfull of cars in Castaway Bays parking lot!! But go by Kalahari and you see LOTS of cars. I've been to all 3 indoor waterparks in Sandusky, Great Wolf/Kalahari/Castaway Bay and I like Kalahari the best and Great Wolf Second. that's ONLY based on variaty of attractions and having a good time, all though Castaway Bay was the cleanest and had the friendliest employees, my kids don't care about that they just want to ahave FUN!!

I don't think they were counting on LOCAL business to begin with!! They were counting on Cleveland, Toledo, Detroit to bring in the business. We all know how the economy is in Toledo/Detroit area, it's one of the worst in the nation. You don't invest that much money in a hotel/waterpark and then expect it to sit EMPTY for 2 days a week!! This is the time of year when people SHOULD be going to an INDOOR WATERPARK, it's COLD OUTSIDE!!

I heard Castaway Bay isn't doing very well, the water park is only open 5 days a week now because nobody is going there. Here is another waterpark opening in Sandusky in April 2008, http://www.mauisandsresort.com/ It says they will be Ohio's second largest indoor waterpark.

Kalahari Resort in Sandusky is now the largest indoor waterpark in the country. They had the grand opening this week showing off the new expansion!! Looks neat!! Last year it was mostly used for employee housing along with the cabins at the campground.

It says "Unlimited admission to Carowinds for the 2008 public operating season FREE Parking at all Cedar Fair parks during the 2008 Season FREE SCAROWINDS Halloween Haunt admission in 2008" It DOESN'T SAY UNLIMITED Scarowinds Admission, I bet your only going to get a 1 day Free Admission for it!! What do you think??
