  1. Has a coaster actually done this, or are you just speculating?
  2. ^^ That makes a ton of sense, especially if Tron is still involved. EDIT: http://ocresort.ocre...le-mover/56864/
  3. When a request for bid work is released, typically the low bid is not accepted due: type of work the bidder has done, type of material the bidder is planning on using, amount of time the bidder will be using, how experienced the bidder's staff is etc. etc. Very low bids are a bigger concern than very high bids. I would be surprised if the original builder of SoB was not the lowest bidder (or even the only bidder).
  4. Another temper-tantrum because the "holier than thou" enthusiast didn't get another thrill ride. RaptorGuy- Please do not visit KI this, or any other, year. The park cannot meet your adolescent demands. The small handful of enthusiasts, like you, only give fun parks a bad reputation because of your demandeing crap. The "coulda, shoulda, woulda" verbage you spout from the cheap seats only reinforces the fact that some enthusiasts, like you, will never understand that amusement parks are not there just for you, but for everyone, especially families. Kids love dinosaurs. KI is filled with kids. Why is that such a hard concept for you to understand? Please go to your perfect place, in your own little perfect world, and let the real enthusiasts enjoy KI. Thanks!
  5. Build up to a HUGE let down -and- incredibly dumb marketing approach Yeah, that makes sense....
  6. Well, the Friday 2:00pm announcement was released through the media....
  7. That would be good marketing money being thrown down the toilet!
  8. ^^ According to rcdb.com, there are 798 coasters: operating, SBNO, under construction, or in storage in North America. http://www.rcdb.com/r.htm?order=12&ot=2&nm=na&pl=1&ex=1&page=1 Granted it may not be for a coaster, I just can't think of anything else in the industry that will have a $9,000,000 price tag for what the press release describes.
  9. Would KI be better overall using $9,000,000 for SoB? I'm not too sure about that. Only because, SoB's reputation will always be there. Just like TTD's downtime reputation (which is no longer an issue) or Bat's reputation of injuring people (which never happened). Now, if SoB is to be redesigned & re-engineered: it will most likely be re-named.If that happens, then CF made a great $9,000,000 move (compared to TG's $10,000,000) since it literally will be a new coaster.
  10. What's the wager?
  11. Or figuring out what all the dinosaur stuff is about is as easy as: 1....2...3 But I do agree with this: WS verticle construction is supposed to start tomorrow. Announcing the probable dino walk through with big cranes moving the new 2011 ride in the background creates good video.
  12. Yeah. Absence creates ethicalness. That makes sense....
  13. C'mon Ty, you photoshopped it.... we know....
  14. If this is for SoB (which is still a very big IF), given that TG rehab was $10,000,000, a contract negotiated by CF for $9,000,000 would be a heck of an accomplishment.
  15. He has done a great job of teasing us- just look at this thread and how it's grown since 3/9 in relation to when the "footprint" was released as well as when the "map" was released. Even after the puzzle pieces have been put together, some still insist it is not what it seems. Creating this type of intrest & specualtion for an exhibit that other venues have had is a job well done.
  16. What do you mean?
  17. ^ I bet Don has him on speed dial eliminating the media. But that does leave the door open of: Why should we believe him? Posting that information would be the same thing as what other members have done.
  18. It appears Empire deals with steel more than anything else. What steel ride is in need of re-working?
  19. So you won't believe the media, and you won't believe what another poster states. Exactly what does it take for you to believe something? Not everything has to have a spin on it, as occasionally, it is exactly how it looks.
  20. Why does it matter if the thread stays open or not? If you don't want to read it, don't open it.
  21. ^ That is not impossible, I just don't think it is likely. For one of those cars to be moved (or moving as the article states) there would have to of been power to move the car off of the chain system and into a free moving state. Now it is possible that one of the cars was at the MCBR (I don't remember if PW has one, but I assume there is), but even then, in a powered down state, the brakes in in a "closed" state. I would like to have more detailed information, but I doubt any will be released.
  22. There is no way proper LOTO was followed.... Unless another worker cut off the victim's lock, it is actually his fault for not locking out the power source prior to entering the ride area.
