I believe that it may be this story, from July 2007, that is being referred to.: http://www.sanduskyregister.com/articles/2...ront/356895.txt Almost a year later? Not exactly "quick moving". We saw the type of investing that Paramount did when they had the parks for sale. But now with CF, we see the complete opposite if the rumor is/was true. It appears that this story was a bit mis-leading written by an overvealous writer (in the media, whoa thunk it? ): Just because the 2 compaines talked, does not mean CF is on the market. From the business side, CF would be fools not to listen. But, just listening, means nothing. Intrestingly enough, Interp did post the information. It was just when the article was actually written. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10089

I know it was mentioned before, -but- Can anyone imagine if FoF would not be at KI anymore? That was the direction for KI's FoF was headed under Paramount. The FoF at PKD was already closed in antcipation for removal prior to the sale. CF quickly opened it back up after the sale.

Believe me, I am not always happy with the decisions CF makes. I was very upset when WWL was removed at CP. But CF had to make a business decision to remove a ride that was not attracting the guests like it once did as well as costing an arm and a leg in maintenance. But at least they removed WWL for a really good ride. Whereas Paramount removed KCKC for the same reasons (again, I was not very happy with that decision) and installed TR (arguably not a good ride).

Im just saying. You never know what they are going to do next! You were surprised that CF closed GL? You even started a topic about the way TG (now FD) looked and questioned if the ride was going to last. And that was just a ride. While at GL, most rides were walk-ons, even on the weekends. You expected CF to support a park that could not support itself? That would hurt all the other parks. They took the lesser of two evils- 1) upset a small group of people that actually went to GL. -or- 2) upset most of your guests by not adding attractions to the parks that do support themselves to support GL. CF made a difficult business decision, and I'm sure a decision that they second guessed themselves many times before pulling the trigger. And what is the difference when CF closes a ride vs. when Paramount closed a ride? Because the way I see it so far is CF has removed a lake, and yet installed(-ing) 2 major rides and fixed another. As well as brought new entertainment to the park that was lacking under Paramount; and entertainment company. Can you imagine the state of the park today if CF would not have purchased the parks?

^Corkscrew at GL was just a corkscrew, not a clone of CP's Corkscrew. For a GL fan that claims to respect the history of the park, you really don't know how to add 2+2. GL HAD 9 coasters prior to SF's purchase of the park. It was 2 years after SF added all the coasters, that the park started to fail. If the park was not failing under SF, why would they have sold it to CF? SF added the coasters with the intention of competeing with CP, and failed miserably. And is was not until 3 years after CF purchased the park from SF that coasters were taken out. And at that point, it was only 2 coasters. Where are you getting the 10 coaster figure from? Why is this such a hard concept to grasp? -
Doesn't CF have double the shows than Paramount did? And no, I do not count Karaoke as a show.

I am guessing, but: Timberwolf may not be on the map since it is a seperate pay venue.

First, when CF purchased the park from SF, the park was already failing. Second, the coaster removal was not as "recent" as you believe. CF waited 3 years before removing a coaster. In those 3 years, it was determined that the attendence could not support the amount of coasters that SF installed. So does that mean if SF added even more coasters it would not have sold to CF? You have me lost on that one. In the first 110 years of Geauga Lake's existance, only 9 coasters existed at the park (2 were removed prior to 1975). But when SF took over, they installed 5 coasters. And you believe that GL's history was maintained with those additions? What kind of rose colored glasses are you looking through? You are upset with the closing of GL. You are not the only one. But place blame where it belongs. Not with CF, but with SF. CF tried to bring GL back to where it used to be at, but it still lost money. -
It should be noted that it is not only FUN and SIX that are not doing well, but many stocks: GE is currently at 27.76. 52 week high: 42.15; 52 week low: 27.30 Microsoft is currently at 25.07. 52 week high: 37.50; 52 week low: 24.87 US Air is currently at 2.21. 52 week high: 36.81; 52 week low: 2.16

Geauga Lake Double Loop

Hold on. You previously complained that CF took out coaster after coaster, now you are upset that the whole park was closed? You are confusing me. Which way do you want it? Remove rides or close the park? And this is not the first time that the "CF hates history" comment has been made. Let's ask some historical questions: Did anyone complain about history when SF installed all those coasters? Because it was clear that GL seemed to be doing decent prior to those coasters being there. Did anyone complain about history when SF bought Sea World? Beacuase it seemed that both parks were doing decent before the merger. Did anyone complain when the name "Geauga Lake" was removed from the park completely by SF? A name that was with the park for decades. GL was already failing when CF bought the park. If CF had not purchased the park, do you actually believe that SF would have left the park open today considering all the parks they have already closed? http://www.ohio.com/news/ap?articleID=524294&c=y This does not sound like a person that is happy with the overall results of what happened to GL. -
How about providing a link...

It's too bad that more did not feel the same as you did. If they would have, GL still could have been here today. -
^ And both times they could not find his name? That is odd...
-
^ YES!

Yeah, light clothing that dries fast is a good idea. My suggestion is a bikini top.

^ When was this? BTW Justin_M17- Has anyone ever told you that picture, I'm assuming of you, looks like a bleached Grinch? I'm not trying to be an a-hole, but that is the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the pic.

Yeah. It's funny when you give people what they want on how attitudes change. But when you take something away... Watch out! You are now the worst thing in the World. It is too bad what happened to GL. But the bottom line is the bottom line. People were not going and the park was losing money. What kind of reaction would we have if CF came out with this: "Sorry KI (or CW), we were going to install a B & M mega coaster at your park. But due to the amount of money is costs to operate GL in the red, out plans have changed." Obviously, CF would never come out and say that, but it is certain that if money is being poured out somewhere else, we will see less of it here.
-
Now that it is quite apparent we will be getting a decent coaster, how do you feel about CF's purchase of KI? And, if CF needs to do more, please feel free to discuss your ideas.

The hills are alive with the sound of music....

Even though some people don't know how to read signs.... Perhaps the park could post some signs in the queue area and at the queue entrance explaining that Beast will shut down for the fireworks show. I am also surprised that security was not already present at Beast for the night rides. Normally there has been at least one officer present at night at Beast as well as many other CF parks with a good amount of guests waiting in line.
