  1. Wow. If this ruined your day, wait till you get zits, hair starts to go in weird places, and your voice cracks. You will be on Cymbalta forever.
  2. Not really sure what he wants to report, exept for that fact that he has no clue what he is talking about. But then again, that doesn't have to be reported, it is rather obvious.
  3. You are funny kid. How do you know what trains, theming, land development, planning, engineering, materials, and actual construction costs? This isn't like your Tinker-Toys, but an actual ride.
  4. What doesn't add up? When you quoted the total cost for the ride and the land development for the ride, what did you come up with. While I don't see where the $10.5 million is being spent, I also have only looked at a POV video.
  5. Does the last one count? It's a couple over two feet. Did you actually READ the fact sheet, or just make-up crap? First drop is 85'. Second is 49'. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/ride..._the_rapids.cfm
  6. I would like to see where you are getting your facts from.
  7. That is the issue. The problems just haven't cropped up; they have been with the ride since day one, and haven't gone away.
  8. I'm not sure what you guys are looking at, but I see two drops.
  9. CF association began in 97 when they aquired Knotts, and expanded snoopy to other parks in 99. Nick at PP has a longer association. Ok, so what does that mean? CF being associated with Peanuts for 10 years isn't enough for a change? And since the splitting of hairs has begun, Paramount aquired Viacom in '95 and thus opened Splat City that same year. Nick Universe replaced Nick Central & what was left of Hanna-Babara Land in '06, so I am not really sure on what you are getting at.
  10. And how sad that statement really is. Is anyone really surprised by this? CF has had a long association with Peanuts, why would that have changed? This is no different than Paramount going to Nick characters from Hanna-Babara. Being a father of two young children, I personally like the change. Some of the Nick characters promote intelligent challenges, other characters don't even come close. As far as the Peanuts crew not being as visible as Nick characters- so what. There used to be a time where cartoons were only on Saturday mornings and very early mornings during the day.
  11. More importantly, why can't you drink gasoline while smoking? More stupid things: http://www.geocities.com/Axiom43/stupidthings.html
  12. I guess I am getting old. I was hoping for another water ride like WWL/ KCKC/ or Thunder River @ Waldameer- aka a water ride that does not make you squeegee your shirt and shoes after the ride if you don't take them off prior to the ride. This does look nice, but it does not have that "family boat" feeling due to the restraints- and yes I do understand why they are there. And $10.5 million? That seems a bit much for the ride I saw in the video (i.e.- Thunder River had a price tag of $2.5 million back in 1996). I guess I will have to see & ride it in person to get a real opinion on the ride.
  13. ^ But both owners of the park have already put in an enormous amount of money and time; and when it comes to SoB, secifically planning and re-engineering, time is money. Effort was made to solve SoB's problems, and much of the effort was thinking outside the box. But it is time to stop throwing good money after bad. http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/throw+...money+after+bad That was funny.
  14. It is what it is. A lemon. http://www.essortment.com/all/lemoncarguide_rylt.htm Humor aside, 50-some pages about SoB here, as well as hundreds of other thread pages about why SoB should be saved/ demolished is really just sad. What other ride has had so many problems, for almost a decade, and still stands? The way I look at it: BGE has announced 2009 will be the last year for BBW. A good ride; lower ridership, and high costs- but still, a good ride. BBW is also a ride that has not had the type of negative attention that SoB has had, and it is being removed for understandable reasons. 25 years of success vs. 9 years of frustration. And that frustration is not only for the 2 owners of the park that has dealt with SoB, but for many *fans* that the ride has. Enough is enough. Many people have tried to fix the issues, with no success. Let's put energy into something else and stop beating a dead horse.
  15. Well ya... ... but it is the NY Times.
  16. I haven't been around lately... What is this "Diamondback" ride? I thought KI already had a runaway mine car ride? Also, the answer to today's NY Times crossword for 4 across is seperated.
  17. Actually, springtime on Lake Erie is MUCH cooler than most people can believe. And 55 is like spring. As of today, Lake Erie is about 32, which is obviously freezing. Back in November, Lake Erie was about 50-55, practically is same as the air temperature. Springtime on the shores of Lake Erie are quite miserable due to Lake Erie's temperature, whereas in October and November can be quite pleasent due to the same reason (this is the exact reason why the shores of Lake Erie are littered with grape crops, but that is another discussion.) Now when you travel 15 miles inland from the Lake Erie shorline, the weather is completely different- much cooler in the fall, and much warmer in the spring. Also, the lake depths around Sandusky is the shallowest part of Lake Erie which also affects the air temp drastically. Whereas Cleveland can be quite cold, Sandusky can be 10-15 degrees warmer. Most people believe that in late October the lake makes things much colder, but in reality, the lake makes it warmer. There was probably a strong cold front coming out of Canada on that particular day.
  18. It has earned most of the credit? Wouldn't it be better if it deserves the credit as opposed to earning most of it? And how do you really earn only most of the credit? Where does the rest of the credit come from since it is only earning most of it? And while it is nice to see that Paula has such a dedicated friend, what does her being a very good friend of yours have to do with anything were talking about at the moment? And when it comes down to Voyage- meh - I'll take El Toro, RFII, or Beast ahead of it any day. Coasters that are overhyped lead to higher expectations that are never met.
  19. Perhaps an upcharge for season pass holders, but at a discount. Say $10. These Halloween events are HUGE moneymakers for the parks. CP, for instance, will have their busiest Saturdays of the year during Halloweekends (provided the weather is cooperating on the shores of Lake Erie). I have been to HW on a Sat., and I will never do it again. I'll go on a Friday night, or a Sunday, and spend Saturday at PIB. I would have no problem paying $10 with my season pass for HH for less crowds and shorter lines. And, IMO, the larger crowds really do take away from the HH events. And not that it is their fault, but, those working want to hurry and decrease the wait, which takes away from the main objective of the events- to scare the guests.
  20. Case Closed? You are really putting that much stock into a coaster poll? And a poll that, ironically, is conducted by their own subscribers. Those polls are more tainted than Super Bowl XL. I'll bet that if you took a poll at cincinnatibengals.com you would find most of the fans think that Carson Palmer is the greatest QB in the NFL.
  21. Not to take anything away from Behemoth, but the best new ride for 2008 has to be RFII. The elements Behemoth have are quite thrilling, just not unique as they once were. Now RFII has elements that have not been seen on a wood coaster in sometime. ...but then again, my opinion has been called erie at times.
  22. It usually goes the way of respecting your elders. In this case, CCMR is pushing 40, whereas AE is not even 20 yet. Can the two coasters be equally compared given the age difference?
  23. You should clairify your comment to your un-engineered, one sided, factless opinion. The many of us understand the need for brakes, and in some cases, welcome them.
  24. Browntggrr replied to zl422's topic in Kings Island
Yeah, that makes sense. And you filled us with enough "infurmiation" to last us a lifetime.
  25. Boy do you have issues. How can you expect security to be around for every rulebreaker there is? If someone wants to do it, they will push the envelope. It is much like DUI. Most people don't get caught driving intoxicated. Is it your local police department's fault that people are stupid enough to drink to an excess and then get behind the wheel? Hardly. Smokers in the park, namely in line, will do things so that it is difficult to be caught. Next time, why don't you take matters into your own hands and report these rule-breakers. Just think, if you report enough of them, you can be deputized! We will call you Deputy Geauga Lake! Then you can look like this:
