I think the ride as it is should be removed. It's not thrilling at all. It gives the allusion that it's going to be, but it builds up to a big let down. I think they should make this the last year for it, or order a new one for maybe 2013, and run it this way one more season, as something is better than nothing. They need to get one more like Valley Fair's or Canada's Wonderland. Those are really thrilling. I don't know about keeping them inside. They could put it in Action Zone, and it would go well there. I'd like to see them either totally tear down the Crypt building for a new coaster like maybe a Maverick style, or keep the building and put an indoor spinning mouse in there. That would fit pretty well, I believe. But, the only redeeming quality of the current ride is, it's air conditioned, and provides a little relief from the heat on a really hot day.

No, IMO, ERT should be on Diamondback and Beast now and forever as long as those rides remain in the park! No matter what coaster or thrill ride comes in the future. Ruth Voss started the ERT on Beast in 1979, and up until this year, that's how it's been. It should remain that way. The only other option that might be kind of good is what Paramount used to do. Offer ERT on different rides on different days. If you went on a Friday, you might have ERT in Coney Mall, or something like that. That might be something to try, too.

Don't count on it. This is Spirit Song week. It will be crowded everyday.
-
If what's been seen this week so far, it may be a bad weekend. It's been more crowded than usual for week days this week, for some reason.

But, it's RARELY open for ERT! it's not reliable enough for it. Yesterday, it was replaced by Shake Rattle N Roll and they were assigning seats! Really? Go back to the 2 most reliable rides in the park, Beast and Diamondback!

I got to Kings Island at 1:40 yesterday, June 29th and not only were there NO guard checking passes, they had dropped the chains that usually stay up till way up in the evening. There were GP coming in those open places, and I could not park there. They really need to be consistent with how this operates. I'm with Kwinshawne on this one. I would be good if they got rid of both the Gold Pass and Prefered lots and made it parking for all. However, for this year, I paid for the perk to have a place to park and yesterday I did not, because they let anyone park there. They need to man that lot till at least 6 pm. The other thing I'm aggravated about out there, is when you first arrive in the morning, they make you drive all the way down those cones and sometimes even all the way back to the north lot and back to the south to get to Gold Pass. There really seems to be a major disconnect in the parking lot. It's an issue that needs to be addressed and resolved. Theres no reason to be in a bad mood walking into the gates, because the parking was a very unpleasant experience.

I have to agree with Bennet here. Although, I do like WindSeeker, and will ride it as often as I can, it's NOT ERT worthy. A lot of people I have spoken with, including many of the regulars feel this way, too. The ride is NOT broken in enough for it. It's down more than its ready by the ERT time. I was lucky enough to go on Thursday and get DB and Beast, because it WAS down until 4:30. And some days, it hasn't opened at all. If this is the feature ride they are showcasing for the ERT, and it's NOT open most of the ERT sessions, it should NOT even be on the schedule. It should go back to Beast and Diamondback. Those are always reliable to be open in time. On this issue, Bennet is right, Kings Island is being very stubborn about it, and they absolutely are NOT listening to the complaints of the guests about it. To quote someone I know very well, "How would you feel if you went to Cedar Point and the only ERT that was offered was Corckscrew and WindSeeker?" That is how this is. They should always have Beast and Diamondback, and then if WindSeeker gets ready in time, they can go ahead and open it, too! That way, if its not ready, you're not stuck with wasting your ERT session!

Perhaps what they could do is, have photographers walking around in front of the Royal Fountains with some kind of signage on their apperal indicating they take pictures. Then if you wanted pics taken of your group in front of the fountains with the tower in the background, or with Dino Rex, they would do it. Perhaps have one or two near the little Snoopy statue in PS, as well. Then if you wanted such pics, they would take them for you. That would seem more comfortable from a guest standpoint.

So far, the most I've waited not counting down time has been 30 minutes. If the line is out past the port-a-que, it's roughly 30 minutes or so.
-
The best way to avoid the papparazzi is to walk in by yourself. If you're in a group, split up and go through separate admission gates and reconnect past them. I've done that for several years. They don't take pIcs of single people.

I'm glad none of the other dinosaurs were hurt in the incident! Oh wait, wrong incident! "Raptorguy, who just had to!" lol

I was on that first ride on Thursday June 23rd at 4:40 when the chairs started banging into each other. It was a little un- nerving, because this was my 3rd ride on it and that hadn't happened before. It didn't deter me from going again later that night. This may be a common occurrence, but being new, it was unexpected. I still enjoy riding it. Riding into the wind is a thrilling experience!

It's worth the ride! As a slogan might say: WindSeeker, You really ought to ride that thing!
-
I am not sure, it's possible! Raptor Guy, didn't someone hurl last night after they exited?
-
I am officially announcing that I DID in fact ride WindSeeker at Kings Island. I figure, if politicians can change their positions, I can too! But, the ride is great! I'll ride it some more! Looking forward to comparing it to CP.

I'm sorry to say, I'm with Windshawne on this. SOB has the same chance of running again as Screechin Eagle does. If they could open as is right now, why don't they? I don't agree with that anyway. The entire track would need replaced, and the trains have sat out for 2 winters now, and they're probably shot. I don't want to see it go, but it's looking more and more like that's gonna be the outcome on this one, unfortunately.

If Racer ever left Kings Island, chances are Kings Island would be closed and out of business. It's kind of like that Love and Marriage song they do in Way Too Much TV. You can't have one, you can't have one, no you can't have one without the other!
-
I actually liked these trains on Raging Wolf Bobs. They were much more fun than the Gerstlaur trains they had in the end. In the old PTC trailer trains, if you rode in the backseat by yourself, you could literally be tossed into the floor on the first turn around. Now, THAT'S good times!

I am at KI now and I drank from that fountain today. The cone is out closer to the midway. It does need repaired though.
-
Hopefully, it's just being repaired as it needed it. Otherwise, Graeters will be leaving. Part of the deal to bring them to Kings Island was that a fountain be installed there. All Graeters Ice Cream locations have water fountains.

I was on a rollback on that coaster the first year it was there. Got stuck in the cobra roll first, then the e stop came on and I was facing the sky for about 20 minutes till they got it back down into the station.

I think it would just be cost prohibitive to give the coaster the Texas Giant treatment. It wouldn't be all that exciting anyway, unless it got a new lay out, which takes us basically to just building a new coaster. Without the loop, there's not much excitement to that ride anyway, IMO. I hate to see all that wood destroyed, but at this point, that seems inevitable, unfortunately.
