  1. Does a paper towel dispenser with the old Paramount Kings Island logo count? I use it every day after I wash my hands at work.
  2. If they are kicked out of the park after being warned and or having the season pass voided and if they come in again and try the same stunt, then arrest them and tell them they are banned from the park for a year and any attempt to enter again will be considered as trespassing. The issue is this is a severe violation of the safety rules and can result in injury to themselves or others. Once they are escorted to the security office if they refuse to heed warnings, they might think twice. More so if they are a repeat violators and a officer from Mason PD is contacted.
  3. People are watching way too many youtube pov videos and are just itching to put their own pov video on it, regardless of what the law states, or getting yelled at by the ride operators. One way to combat people attempting to video or take pictures on the ride is to kick them out of the park and next time, have their season pass voided.
  4. The land to the north goes beyond the park's nursery to the bus garage for the high school and down to the river. You can also see the former camp grounds over flow lot along the old Columbia Road, which runs north with the GWL on the left.
  5. I have a green Paramount Kings Island work polo shirt from 1994, an aqua-green Paramount Kings Island work polo from 1995, and a very nice blue Paramount Kings Island employee jacket from 1996.
  6. I have a cup and saucer set with a plate from Kings Island's opening season from 1972.
  7. Get tossed out of the park and or arrested! It's that simple!
  8. The guests trying to record their own ride pov will think twice after they are ask to leave the park after they ignore the ride operator's command to stop. This is a violation of state law and can result in their arrest. The POV they watch on TV from shows like Insane Coaster Wars have the permission of the park and have professional camera equipment that have been securely mounted to the ride.
  9. I do not wait 2 plus hours waiting in line for a roller coaster, as I have said in another message thread. There are other days that will be less crowded for me to ride without waiting a long time. That is the best part of having a season pass or like me, an employee ID. The way I look at it, the vast majority of people I see are in the wave pool most of their time they spend at the water park. Will the water slide increase attendance or will they replace a older water slide for a newer one? I think with the new wave pool, they have increased the area for people that felt the older wave pool was getting over crowded, thus allowing for an increase in crowds. And management knows that funds are limited and another area will expand (we all know what) and the water slide will come later on. It takes lots of dollars to build a new roller coaster and water slide but not at the same time due to the limited funds for expansion.
  10. Who saids I hate Soak City? I just don't see an investment in a water slide with the recent expansion of a new wave pool and other amenities. Give the park a couple of years before deciding to expand again as there are other areas of the park besides the water side that needs future expansion with the limited funds available. I just don't see waiting in line for a while for a ride that only last seconds when I can spend my time staying cool in the wave pool. What if the vast majority of people decided to ride the water slide instead of staying cool in the pool? Would not it cause huge wait times while they continue to sweat from the heat of the sun? I just spend my time staying cool rather than riding a water slide. Also, how long does one stay at the water park vs the dry side? The max I spend would be 2 or 3 hours and then I become water logged. Again I do not hate Soak City and I will continue to respond to responses that people make, just like I did yours.
  11. Do you want a major water slide investment even though the park just did a major expansion of Soak City or a new roller coaster to replace SOB? When it is 95 degrees and the sun is beating down on me, the last place I want is to wait in line for a long time to ride a water slide that only last seconds. I would rather spend my time in the wave pool keep cool, which is the reason why I go to a water park during the heat of the summer. Don't expect a major water slide investment after they just expanded the water park. It will be the same thing when they finally do announce the replacement for SOB, they won't build a new roller coaster until several years afterwards.
  12. The Flight Deck Man and the Dippin' Dot Guy are identical twins and share their inside information with each other.
  13. I can tell you that ride operators, or other seasonal employees, do not know what the plans are. Only the higher, upper management know what is going on and when they are ready, they will announce the plans to the world. This ride op better be careful about speculating what the plans are. It would seem to me the proper time to create a thread for the SOB's demolition pictures or comments would be when it is being torn down. But like it was posted above, when did the park announce it will begin in 1 week? The the dipping dots guy transfer over to the Flight Deck?
  14. Quack, Quack....lot easier than going to the 50 foot level.
  15. If the Little Miami ever flooded Kings Island, you best be friends with a guy named Noah and that dingy he is building in his garage.
  16. Besides the past events that had contributed to the 50 foot level being closed, it was not handicap accessible. Trust me, after climbing up the stairs, your legs will begin to feel like they weigh a ton. When I worked back in 72 as a sweep, we had to go up there and clean as part of our area beneath the tower that we were assigned.
  17. The back up generators that the park has are for emergency use and not to power rides or attractions until power is restored. Just like if you have a back up generator at home, you use it to power your freezer, refrigerator, lights and other vital stuff.
  18. He also could have had a couple more orders ahead of his and his would had been completed after the other guests coneys were ready. Now what if Skyline would had orders waiting under a heat lamp until an order was received? Then would he had complained about the spaghetti being soggy even though his order would had been given to him much faster?
  19. I would go to the doctor and have your blood pressure checked. When fighter pilots black out from the high G's that they encounter, it is due to the change in blood pressure and the lack of oxygen to the brain caused from the high G forces. Unless you experience high G forces for several seconds or longer, I would have your blood pressure check to avoid further problems. Signs on the rides say if you have high blood pressure to avoid riding.
  20. That guy making your order at Skyline is not just making your order, but all orders that he has received. Unlike hamburgers and hot dogs, the 3-way, 4-way, or 5-way has to be made as the order is made and is not just waiting for you under a heat lamp. It is the same way for the cheese coneys. It is the same even if you went to the Skyline on the other side of the interstate. The waiter takes your order, you wait, then you receive your order. Don't forget, that same guy is also preparing the order of the person or persons that waited in line ahead of you. He is not there just to wait until YOU arrived so he can be your very own person fast order cook. Now put yourself in the other shoe and how will you feel if you were on the other side of the counter and some guy was yelling at YOU and demanding their money be refunded.
  21. In the past when the park had the Bring-A-Friend day, the season pass had to be scanned first, then the friend ticket was printed. It is to prevent the pass holder from bringing more than the one friend they were allowed. Look at the pack of the coupon for any and all legal disclaimers and do call the park with any questions or show up with your friend. Like said, it is bring a friend, not send a friend.
  22. If you come into my house and speak bad about me, with or without curse words, then I will show you the door and tell you not to come back. My father once bought a car that he thought would be great but it turned out to be a bad lemon. You do not know until some time after you buy it and put it through its paces. It was the same with SOB and The Crypt. When I rode The Crypt in 2005, I thought it was very good and had great sound effects, all before you got into the ride itself. There are some rides that the parks thought would be great but turns out not to be the case. But don't come into a person's house and harp on them that they just wasted money when you do not know everything they have done prior to them admitting it was not what they thought it was. You deserved to be banned.
  23. Chick-Fil-A and Panda Express are not not owned by the park and have their own cash handling systems that is not connected to the parks system. That is why Chick-fil-A are not open on Sundays, just like their stores outside of the park. That is why they are not part of the park's promotions.
  24. Lots of users think they can post anything they like on Facebook, regardless if they are true or not or feel like they need to rant over and over. I will delete anything or ban any user from my FB page if I do not like what they have posted, it is after all, my personal page. The same thing applies to Kings Island's Facebook page or any page that a commercial enterprise creates as a marketing tool for their company.
  25. That sign also. Just bring your sacks filled with nickels! I am surprised someone wonders about the old KI sign that blew down and wonder if it is laying in some junk heap for sale?
