  1. The park can't just start adding restrooms, rides and other things to any area or creating a new area without having a master plan for that section of the park. I bet with the past Soak City expansion, there is a master plan that will allow for the addition of new water slides and even replacement of existing attractions. I even guess that there are master plans that include Action Zone, Coney Mall and X-Base or if not all, they will have one.
  2. I believe that they are for maintenance or other uses by the park.
  3. Please do not mention peanut butter. We are still doing a whole book in math about comparing peanut butter quality ratings. We've been doing peanut butter problems for a month now. EDIT: Congrats, Original! EDIT2: On the Peter Pan thing, step way back in time to...Neverland? Your math problems remind me of my quantitative analysis course I took in college.
  4. The road that is behind the GWL is Kings Island property and if you go beyond where Columbia Road ends, you are trespassing. The road you are talking about is the old Columbia Road and there are other maintenance roads through out the back area of the park that allows access to all the rides and the rest of the property. They are all private property and unless you are employees of Kings Island authorized to access them or contractors, you are not permitted on them.
  5. Maybe Donald, Huey, Louie, Dewy, and Uncle Scrooge will make an appearance, or even Bob! Just leave Porky home.
  6. I had enough of the pigs when I had to put up with them in the pet care several years ago. Wonder where they plan on keeping the animals from the petting zoo?
  7. They are access roads in the back areas of the park. When I worked in maintenance back in 74, we used them to go to the back area of the Lion Country to construct the mono-rail and rehab the sheds for the animals. They are used for maintenance and there used to be a water treatment plant in the back area that served the park.
  8. Other venues took the place of Timberwolf due to the nature of the shows and ticket prices that the acts require and also 15K to 20K plus venues are needed for the shows themselves.
  9. "new" in the case of New Coke of a huge flop! In Dinosaurs Alive! case, it has turned a profit and is something the entire family can enjoy, which they all can't in the case of an extreme roller coaster.
  10. Best kennel at an amusement park: The Pet Care at Kings Island. I give it 5 paws and a ruff, ruff!
  11. Now why would they want to invest in smoother parking lots? After all, those pot holes have been there for years and are like old friends and what would the paving crews that fixes pot holes do if they were fixed for good?
  12. The price of parking at Reds and Bengals games are much higher. You have two choices: park or not park in them. When you work downtown, parking is very dear unless you choose to park far, far away and walk in whatever weather conditions. So $12 at the present is a good deal. Plus, your Gold pass includes parking. Parks have expenses and parking revenues adds to the total revenue.
  13. And the back of the ticket saids no rain checks in the event of bad weather. The rides close for your own safety in case of lightening and other bad weather. Ever see the movie, Caddy Shack when the priest playing golf in the thunder storm when he was struck by lightening? Same thing with roller coasters in a thunder storm.
  14. If you think about it, rag time music would be a perfect fit for Coney Mall as it is supposed to be what an amusement park was in the turn of the century to the 1920's. On the topic of music geared to the guests, listen to the music played at a bar and compare it to when last call is near. The music is fast and lively and then it changes tempo to a slower beat. They want you to buy more drink, as you are in a more festive mood and then when they want you to go home, they slow it down. I did a lot of research in my hay day on that subject. I made great friends during my research, Jack, my good friend Bud, Mr. Miller, Mr. Coors, Jim, and my good old grand-dad and all paid for my uncle Sam.
  15. Everything wobbles, even people. Well maybe not a wobble, but a jiggle here and there.
  16. I prefer the music the park had when Kings Island first opened in 1972. Each area had music geared for each section: IS had French accordion style music;Coney Island (Coney Mall) had rag time music;River Town had country music;Octoberfest had German music; and Hanna Barbara Land had cartoon music. Now all they have is generic pop music throughout the park. Music is not to be listen to but is to be felt as background music.
  17. Invertigo is directly in front of pet care and I have timed how long the ride starts from when it reaches the top of the lift hill until it completes its cycle and returns to the top of the lift hill. It lasts 45 seconds, not counting the time to load and go up and down to the station.
  18. I hated the fog when I was in admissions working at the front gate taking tickets. The fog would spread underneath the front and hated breathing it. Good thing it was not toxic but just water vapor.
  19. The only saving grace if Disney owned KI would be if the employees would be able to use their employee ID to get into the various Disney parks free, like we do now with Cedar Fair parks.
  20. Can you imagine the expenses just to run Christmas and winter events with guests freezing their buns in the freezing cold and at the same time trying to rehab all the rides for the next season? Never mind the admission fee just to get into the park if Disney would to own it and have these events.
  21. The park's Haunt web site is now online: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/haunt2012
  22. Planet Snoopy will also be closed during Haunt on Saturday night.
  23. The bees are drawn to the sweet nectar of flowers and ice cream! Without bees, our plants would be history.
  24. I think BB1 is asking why do we have to upload pictures to a third party site first before posting to KIC. Why not have it set up to upload our pictures directly to KIC, just like we can with FB.
