Was at coastermania this year and found that Disaster Transport had no lights on for anything. Yes, that is a ride that needs to be brought down like SOB and replaced.

Now that they have released the schedule of events (mostly) and discussed some food options, will we get more detailed information about this weekend (those who have registered)?
They list several things about food and drink options and additional events but no real details.
Just hoping to find out all of it before hand.

I asked Don a question about the ride construction (a few weeks ago) and he said then that B&M reps would be onsite in a week or so. So I am assuming they have been here and gone. I also asked if they would be here as guest speakers at RWW but Don said no.

Wonder when that will be posted? Do we have to wait for Media day?

The fence talked about is actually just outside the track IN the splashdown. That fence is just a keep-out barrier fence.

It is odd that train #2 is in station with all those people in the splashdown area. Would think they would want a lockdown to keep from any accidental issues....

Noticing they have a basket on the crane on the lift hill. Wonder what they are doing?

It appears from the web cam they are making a 3 ft or so wide rock bed around the pond. Wonder if any rocks will end up in it.

It was amazing the number of runs they made with 3 trains yesterday. I would say they are easily ahead of schedule.
Of course I wonder when they will be full training the staff. From the fast turnaround on the cars, I would say they were
not doing a seat up/down each time the cars came to the station. Can not wait for opening day.

They could put scalers in the fins on the back car and you could get a dip, a fish and fry it all at once.....

It appears they are really just cleaning the area. The stream filler will probably be used all the time to fill it.
Might take quite some time with a small hose like that... :-)
But I agree they want to fill the pond soon to test the reaction with the cars and the splashdown.

ok, image is back to shed and #1 is no longer in view....Hmmm, can not tell if in station or not but it is definitely not in the shed.

Actually there are Kings Island construction photos floating on the web somewhere... including a half built Eiffel Tower.
I have several pics on floppy in storage somewhere that show the park under construction. Problem is, they are buried in storage somewhere... oh, and the fact that I do not have a floppy drive anymore ;-)

For just a few dollars you can get usb connection floppy drives (and I have them for just this kind of reason).
Nice to still be able to transfer media in all fashions even if older. Speed is not an issue just access.

We are not testing Diamondback, as the rumor mill suggests, because of the webcam angles
today. We're doing a webcam test to see what angles in the park we can
showcase this summer.

I did email him, There were other subjects I had needed to ask him about but did bring up the webcams. I edited my email but this is the part about testing and cams.
That is a cool idea. I realize the cams are mounted wrong for this, but how about one pointing at the parking lot to see how full it is before coming. HA!
I have used the cams before in the past for that exact reason. They used to show main street and I would check before going to make sure it was not packed.
So I am hoping they will have a camera front park side as well.

So the metal fencing in the splashdown, is this just an OSHA thing for when testing.
I would hope the people working the area are not the bad off to walk up when a car
is approaching. Wonder if there will be a lake border fence as well to keep other darwin
winners away.
KI 2011 Waterpark add on

I am wondering what changes (if any) KI will have next year. We have had coaster, kids area and now waterpark is due.
After riding Wildibeast at HolidayWorld they should really add one of those to the waterpark. Think it would be a great addition and is very re-ridable.
