New for 2012: WindSeeker! I kid, but with all of this recent work, I'm not sure when we'll finally see Kings Island's be ready. But, at this point, I almost believe that Canada's Wonderland has become the guinea pig. Throw something at it, and if it works, we'll add it to the other three. I'm sure it'll open before Flying Turns does... is has to, right? (I would actually LOVE to ride Flying Turns... it looks like a great coaster.)

I so wish they were repainted. I remember, many times as a kid, walking through River Town, by the old Swan Lake, and to The Beast Station. Has anyone looked at the arms recently? Are they slowly adding the hydraulics like they did up at Canada's Wonderland?

I have a simply script that downloads and saves each of the four webcams every 15 minutes. I was originally going to make a time lapse of WindSeeker construction, but something came up, and I lost majority of the pictures.

Look at the rumors for Cedar Point, they are already planning their 2012 season. And remember, they started work on Diamondback nearly a year and a quarter before it opened. So, I don't think we'll see a massive new coaster for 2012. I think it's too late to start anything. I voted Son of Beast. Even if construction started today, I really wouldn't expect to see it running until 2013.

I understand where the fear comes from. Not from the train rolling backwards, but rather the chain flying towards the train.

I agree. I've never seen where it says that the lockers are "90 minutes only", but rather "One Time Use" lockers.

Today was great. Rode Diamondback 4 times during the ERT, same train the whole time. Ride ops didn't even ask you to get off between cycles, which was nice. Flight Deck was the same way during normal operation hours, guest were allowed to re-ride. Waited two trains for Beast front row mid day. Firehawk probably had the longest line, which was 15 or so minutes, but it was only at one station operation (but two trains). Diamondback was a walk on as well for the majority of the day.

A good amount of Son of Beast's queue were removed as of 5/7 . All the rails from the entrance down to the switchbacks were gone.

I hope your right Gibson. I still hope, that one day, I'll be able to ride it again.

I believed the same thing as you Gibson, until I went to the park two Saturday's ago, and saw a good amount of Sonny's line removed. That was the moment I told myself I'll never get to ride it again. I sure hope I'm wrong, but removing the line "temporarily" just doesn't make sense. And in case anyone doesn't know, Son of Beast is my favorite coaster.

I highly doubt it. They already took their big gamble... taking one of the "roughest" coasters around, and making it what it is today. I'm sure they'll have so many offers for years to come, they won't need to take another big gamble, on a ride like Son of Beast, a ride which, according to an engineer, has too much give. But, according to the same engineer, fixing that may result in other problems. As much as I love the ride, there is simply too much wrong with it. I'm not sure they'll find anyone (besides another start up company), who would be willing to risk their reputation over this ride.

I'm hoping to go this Thursday, assuming the rain holds off for majority of the day.

But DA 3D doesn't have motion based seats... so why couldn't they just replace those seats with the brand new ones, and keep side A for Sponge Bob?

Spongebob is gone isn't he? I was wondering the same thing. I assumed Sponge Bob was gone, and we were loosing that attraction. Is there any reason to believe otherwise?

So, there is a banner that says "Free Rides on Barnstormer"... does that mean that this is usually an upcharge attraction?

I haven't seen anyone post a picture of the carriage at the top of the tower, so I will. From yesterday evening.

The retracked portions were much smoother. I was amazed at the difference. They did an excellent job.

I was there yesterday all day as well (from 9a to 10p). The only ride I saw that was down was Firehawk... once mid day for a little while, and twice at night. The two at night lasted only about 15 minutes... I was even stuck on the train the second time in the station.
