  1. here's my idea for the "new ride"
  2. I asked somewhere else, but no one responded, so I'll ask again. Has anyone seen the seats move in and out of loading position. Thats one complicated system and that maybe why there is only one car on the track. Maybe one didn't work right. I just thought that if anyone had seen this, it could put that idea out of my mind. Right now, thats one think that I think will take time to work out. I hope I'm wrong.
  3. YAY!!!!!!! I can't wait until I get to ride this thing. Its nice to know that there is now an opening day schelduled instead of just speculation on whether or not its gonna open on time. I know as well as most other people that its still not 100%, but we'll find out in less than a week.
  4. I'm willing to wait two hours for a ride on Firehawk. I might even ride it twice. Thanks btw I live on the east side.
  5. I know its immpossible to tell, but does anyone have any guesses about the wait during the weekdays following Firehawk's opening. I'm thinking of coming down out of indy to try it out, I'd just like to know if anyone has any ideas considering the past waits for new rides. I've never riden a "new" ride the same year it opens, let alone the same week. Thanks
  6. My engineering teacher and I have had a conversation about this. He calls it reverse engineering. Build it, test it, and if it doesn't work, people lose money and you have to start the process all over again.
  7. I wish I could have done that. I was with a group of people who didn't have passes, so I had to wait with them at the hotel until they were ready to leave, which was around 9:50. Maybe some other time.
  8. They are probably in the process of making covers with "Firehawk" on them instead of "X-Flight"
  9. Did anyone see the seats raise and lower into the loading position. I didn't ever see them do that. I only watched for about ten minutes, but I would think that that would be something they would want to test along with the ride itself.
  10. I was in the park from 10 am - 3 pm and only got to ride 4 rides. I've never seen a day that busy and I hope I never see another one anywhere near that busy. I will definatley try to scheldule my trips during the week from now on. Does anyone know how long the wait for top gun got? I walked around the first turn and there was the line passed the tunnel that top gun and sob lines share. I thought that it was probably atleast 2 hours long. Did anyone here wait for top gun, or hear how long it was from someone who waited?
  11. Obviously gas prices didn't affect anyone today. I made the trip from Indy and got to ride backwards racer, FoF, The Beast, and Vortex all once and nothing else. It was the busiest I have ever seen it today. I'm sure there have been busier days, but I will be very reluctant to go to Kings Island on a Saturday ever again. I juat hope that next time, I will be able to ride more...especialy with gas prices so high......to keep it on topic.
  12. Today while I waited in the line outside of FoF, Firehawk was running test runs with both trains I snaged some pics with my camera phone, but I don't know how to get them here. If anyone could let me know, I would be happy to post them. Thanks
  13. have fun at Cedar Point. I can't wait to go this year.
  14. Just because there is only one train on the tracks one week before it opens doesn't mean its going to stay that way. They are probably just using one train for all the testing they have to do, and then they will bring the other train out and practice running both for next weekend.
  15. My dad had an issue with the test seats on Millenium Force, he fit fine in the test seat, but he had to struggle to get the seat belt on after a two hour wait. I'm 6'3 and I have had no troubles on any ride anywhere, except Vortex, but I can still ride it, the OTSR hurt though. I'm sure your friend will be fine height wise.
  16. Atleast we know that there won't be any delays due to track replacement. I agree that you shouldn't make plans now expecting it to be open. Even if it is open, that might be one of the only rides you ride all day!!! I'm expecting to hear about 5+ hour lines. I could be wrong, but I'm not going Memorial Day weekend, maybe the next if its open.
  17. does anyone recognize the photo booth? To me it looks really close to the TTD photo booth. did anyone else notice that?
  18. never mind, I was looking at the paramount web site, not the first one
  19. The article is dated July 29, 2004, I don't think its happening.
  20. YAY!!!!!! I can't wait to see that for myself, once its open and I'm standing in line for it!!
  21. It says here that it is not the turn after the launch, which I thought it was, but the heartline roll which now that I think of it has puzzled me the entire time. There has to be some pretty intense vertical and lateral G's through that thing. You have a lot of speed, and its just like BAM!!! you're thrown towards the ground and pulled back up again. Here's the web site: http://www.pointpixels.com/
  22. The longest I've waited for TTD is 30 minutes. I've ridden it 3 times onec in the front. I guess it was just a good day. I've waited nearly an hour and a half for Millenium Force, but that was once and it hasn't been like that since. I once skipped a 2.5 hour line for Millenium Force due to a free pass from getting stuck on Gemini. We got a ticket to go to the front of the line on any ride (other than TTD) because we sat on the emergency brakes for 10 minutes...It was great. At Kings Island, I waited for SOB for araound an hour and the same for FoF. Thats about it. I've had excellent luck with lines.
  23. If any pay as you go attraction goes it has to be the virtual reality crap. I did that last year and was disgusted that I wasted a dollar on that thing. You sit there, you watch the screen, you have no control over the game, and it vibrates a little. Waste of time and space. Maybe it will go away if wnat upstop said is in fact another attraction.
  24. I always just tell the photo people that I've already gotten a picture, and they leave me alone. As for the games, they are way over priced, but that doesn't stop me. I love showing off to my friends. On Sunday, I won a huge black yellow and red soccer ball. It was one of those that is about 5 ft in diameter and wont fit in your car unless you deflate it. (Which takes forever) It cost me about $20 since it was the LONG 3-point, not the free-throw length. It was worth it when the guy said something about my Colts shirt, and I sunk the next one. And my friends were amazed. I'm just saying that it is expensive, but man is it fun to win stuff.
  25. I love the slingshot. I have been on it numerous times all at $5.00 a ride. It still hasn't lost its lustor in my book. The trampoline thing is fun, but I wouldn't do it at Kings Island just because it sucks the engergy right out of you.
