  1. If you don't want to hear people's opinions, don't go to a internet message board. If you can't handle it, don't read it. If you don't want to hear my opinion then don't read my posts. Isn't it the same thing you are defending? I don't mind hearing people's opinions. Its when they keep saying the same thing over and over and over when I start to get annoyed. I'm not bashing his opinion at all. He doesn't like the ride. OK. I'm just getting really tired of hearing people say tear it down. If you can't handle the ride, don't ride it, and don't say that since you don't like it, it should go away. There are other people in the world that enjoy the ride very much.
  2. Enough with the tear it down crap!!!! Its not going anywhere no matter how much you complain about it being rough. If you can't handle it then don't ride it. Just stop saying tear it down...we get it. We got it the entire first year you were saying it. Its much better now IMO. I even loved it before the new trains. Now its better than ever.
  3. If this rumor is true, I hope that they take out disaster transport. Then they can build out into the lot right there, and that will draw people to that corner of the park. Right now there isn't enough there. The last three times I've gone, I've ridden WT once since its in a corner away from everything and there's no real reason to go back there.
  4. I could be wrong, but on every hill after the turn around, I think I see trims. I hope I'm wrong, but thats what I see. Anyone want to prove me wrong, I would love that.
  5. My personal view of the perfect day at KI is unlimited roller coasters. All that I can handle.
  6. Why is that a sad thing? I love SOB too.
  7. WOW...and I thought 800 would be crazy!!!
  8. I know its kinda late, but does anyone have any pictures of this construction equipment that is in the area?
  9. New Palestine, Indiana. About 7 miles SE of Indy. Its a good 2 hour drive to KI and aroun 5.5 for Cedar Point. Both trips are well worth it, but it seriously limits the number of my trips.
  10. How could he tell that it was inverted coaster track. How can anyone tell until its built. As far as I know, hyper coaster track and inverted track looks the same until its erected.
  11. I noticed that this rumor and a rumor posted on wikipedia kinda mesh. How can you have a 200+ ride going 95 mph...It drops into a valley creating a 312 ft drop just like the wiki guy mentioned. I doubt that it will encircle the park, but several of the elements in the two different posts mesh very well. The wiki article also said that it starts near The Beast.....maybe there is some truth to this. Unless someone is really good at tricking people. I don't know how to post the link to the wiki thread, so if someone thinks its worthwhile, that would be nice.
  12. I want a Sky Swat for 08. Put it wherever, It will be a stretch for X-Base, maybe on top of where Days of Thunder needs to not be. Those things look so fun!!!

Too much stress on wood elsewhere....not the loop. The new trains can't fit through the loop. The suspended wood coaster was a joke...everyone here knows that wood won't do that...stop getting all defensive.
  14. this is why we have height restrictions.
  15. beside the count down on the CWL home page, there looks to be a height meter. If 87 ft is where it is, it looks to be a 200+ ft coaster. If its a height meter. Are there any dive coasters in Canada? It says that "Canada's never seen any thing like it." Just a couple things that I noticed.

And much of the money that has been spent went to re-tracking. So now that it has been determined that money is going to be spent either on re-tracking of removal of the ride, what is the lesser of two evils? If it goes to re-tracking, great. But SoB has been re-tracked on at least 3 occaisions since 2000, with no positve results. So I think it is safe to assume that re-tracking is not the answer. So now we are down to removal of a ride (yeah it will be a big bill) that will no longer take money away from other park projects. Browntggrr- who still hates the idea of removing any ride, but knows when to throw in the towel. The parts that have been re-tracked are very noticibly better than parts that haven't. The ride has never been completely re-tracked and...I might be wrong, but there are still many original track sections on the circut. Taking small steps every winter to eventually re-track the ride will be much more cost effective then tearing the entire thing down.

I think that if they keep retracking small sections of the ride every year, it will be better, but its wood...wood is rough...get over it. I'm sick and tired of hearing "Taer it down" over and over again. They're not gonna tear it down no matter how much you want them to. They have already put too much money in it just to tear it down and spend more money to put something else there. If you don't like it don't ride it. That just means shorter lines for those of us who do like it.

I used to completely agree with the "remove the brakes" stance. Only until I rode it with my dad did I realize how helpful they really are. Even if the trims in the brake shed were lightened a bit, the last turn to the second lift would be horendous(sp?). Even with the trims the way they are now, that turn can be brutal with a full train. I think the brakes are a vital part of The Beast giving an enjoyable ride. I know it can be boring, but I'd rather have a boring part than an entire ride of pain.
  19. I took this with my phone yesterday 8/9. Yiu can tell what it is, but not good quality at all. Thats on top of the slab of concrete I posted last week.
  20. I was in the park today and I heard some of the concert, but I only saw it from DZ or SOB. Its nice to be able to put visuals with what I was hearing. Thanks for the pics.
  21. I'm no photographer by any means, but... All I could think of was another storage shed of some sort, but a FF thing is a good possibility. EDIT: These were taken August 1st
  22. I've got some pics right next to the slab of concrete...I'll work on getting them up.
  23. It looked much better to me when I went on Wednesday the 1st. I might have noticed because I waited in line for it. The lights on the UFO flash and there are green lights on it that I have never noticed, and different stuff happens at different parts of the movie that they play (Lights flash and stuff). I was very impressed. I can't wait untill next year to see what they can do with a whole off-season that doesn't include bulding one ride, and re-doing another.
  24. I wold like to see a Voyage type ride at KI. Didn't gravity group do that one? That or a Maverick. Neither of them the same as the originals. I'd like to see anythink that is custom KI...not a replica...or a handme-down.
  25. I also went with my dad on 8/1. We had a great time. I rode SOB 4 times. I for one really enjoy that ride. I'll admit that it is rough through the rosebowl, but for reasons that I myself can't explain, thats my favorite part of the ride (I know that I am most likely the only one). I thought the same thing about the second helix on The Beast. It kinda knocks you twice real hard before the tunnel.
