    Seatbelts

I like them. They aren't in the way, and they take no time to check. I've never seen retractable belts like that in that area, is that somewhat new or have I not been to many parks? I've only seen the ones that are on drop zone and delerium.
  2. Nevermind...I only had to wait about a half hour
  3. I remember that last year, the on ride photos didn't show up until my third trip sometime in May. I figured they didn't feel like paying someone to stand there until the bulk of the season started.
  4. I'm leaving for the park in about five hours. Does anyone know if I have to get my season pass processed before I go in, or can I wait untill later when the line goes down. I guess what I'm asking is, can I get in with my little piece of paper?
  5. I just got done playing with that funcam thing, its pretty cool!!!! I still don't know if you can tell how fast it is.
  6. I got a maxx pass from my parents from christmas. I can't wait to use it anywhere I can, anytime I can
  7. I thought the same thing, but I can't wait to ride that thing. Just seeing it running in pictures is making me even more excited.
  8. Its like the s-turn in RCT, but I assume it will be banked considering the speed it will have at the bottom of that hill. I can't wait to ride it to find out exactly what its gonna be like. Untill then, we won't know exactly what a "simple swoosh" is.
  9. Could that landscaping you are talking about be for Firehawk constuction or are you talking about already having another way to get to Firehak and FoF? I finally figured out what recaR is!!!!
  10. I miss King Cobra. The one time I rode it, I was maybe 10 and just tall enough to ride it. I loved it. Where did you hear about the beer carts? Sounds ify to me.
  11. I remember my first ride on The Beast, I was just tall enough to ride it and scared out of my mind. I liked it unitl during the helix when I got my head slamed into something. My dad noticed and held my head away from the side for the rest of the ride...it really hurt. I dodn't remember what I hit my head on, but now I love The Beast and I think the helix is one of the best, if not the best part of a woodie ever.
  12. They could be like, Miss the loop on SOB? Then come ride the new Loops on Firehawk Only at KI!!!!!! I would laugh hard
  13. I agree completely, a lap belt would be too much. First off, it probably would keep more people from riding it and Lap belts would be very hard to check on Vortex. The harness belt wouldn't be a hated addition in my opinion.
  14. I'll be there the 22nd with my school's after prom party. I don't know how many other schools are doing the same. All I know is that I can't wait!!
  15. About things fitting the way they should, I agree that the fact that is has been built before might make it easier, but its now in a different place with different elevations to worry about. I'm sure they take extra special care with the footings, but you can never be perfect. The metal from the factory is as close to perfect as you can get, its where the footings are that makes the difference.
  16. Good point about sob I never knew about the skid brakes being there...I guess I was too young to know what they were when they were there. I thought they slaped on some magnetic brakes a couple of years ago to keep it from tearing its self apart. And I agree with the computer thing. The Beast is a great coaster that came from great minds, a pencil, and probably lots of paper. I was just reffering to the "skimpy looking" structure in different places. I'm sure it does its job just fine and like you said, it still functions fine.
  17. I think it did, but not as many, and they weren't as good at slowing you down. When you hit the brakes on the back straight run thing, you slow down to almost nothing. I think you're right about the wood part. I think different places get redone depending on what needs it the most so its probably been replaced atleast once since it was built just by replacing different parts. Please correct me if anything I say is wrong.
  18. I know that his might be a very unrealistic idea, but...I would like to see them completely re-do The Beast. Now, before you crap yourselves from someone saying that, I mean rebuild it the way it is right now, but make it so it can handle the speed it makes without the breaks. Its wood, wood rots over time (especially almost 30 years) Build it like you would build a coaster now with more support instead of the way they did it in 1979. I'm not saying that its bad the way they built it, its proven it can withstand what it needs to. Use computers that they didn't have back then. Maybe bank some of the turns differently, but keep the ride the same. And don't alter the double helix at all. That is the best section of a woodie that I have ever experienced in my 18 years of life. I agree with anyone who says that it is still an amazing ride, but there are too many brakes in my opinion. I would rather have that than a new record breaking coaster.
  19. Firehawk's track actually flips 180 degrees whereas that coaster rotates a little bit horizontaly, but its still the same idea.
  20. Would Dragster at Cedar Point be considered a dual-loading station since it loads two trains at once, or is it in its own category since they leave at the same time?
  21. I agree...I think that its way too expensive to spend the day walking around and waiting in 2 and 1/2 hour lines to ride the three or four different thrill rides.
  22. I didn't mention that it was last week, which makes it even more funny.
  23. OK...i know what your talking about with the semi example, my sister was in an accident involving a small car, falling asleep, and the back of a semi. Everyones fine, I just thought it was funny that you should mention that. I don't think the guy driving the semi even knew that anything happened.
