  1. Maybe they are referring that the plans that Mr. Brady brought to KI were the plans for the current construction. Another picture, courtesy of my brother Thane Of Price Hill. http://picasaweb.google.com/welchce/OnSite...970072440129538
  2. So if you take the year Kings Island opened and subtract the number of roller coasters (not included Avatar but including the one for next year) and divide by the what FUN closed at today, add the year The Bat was removed, subtract 36 times pi and add the amount of loops SoB used to have (and round up) you get *BREATH* the year the Brady Bunch came to Kings Island. ((1 972 - 14) / 19.4) + 1 984 - (36 * pi) + 1 = 1 972.8305 (or 1973 rounded up) *EDIT* I actually wanted to post that in the "Rumor coaster for 2009" thread but most of us were reading both anyway.
  3. Snake The counter is just on www.visitkingsisland.com
  4. here it is... Sent to me via my brother on his phone http://picasaweb.google.com/welchce/OnSite...954434197023570 I don't see a count down. And thanks for the pic Welche! Anytime. I just re-posted it because I think people missed it.
  5. My brother just sent me a picture with his phone. Hold on while I get it on to the internet.
  6. Red and yellow? Like Invertigo... TTD Mantis Iron Dragon Talon Volcano: The Blast Coaster Silver? Bullet I'm sure there's a few more at Cedar Fair parks.
  7. I will be working the concert. You can normally find me in the trench between the pavilion and the lawn.
  8. Maybe I am just wishing it was 2009 and the coaster was completed
  9. We could team up with other Cedar Fair park fan sites and make one big podcast (since I doubt any of the individual sites would have enough to talk about their park). Each site could have their own podcasting team and they would trade shows back and forth or just have news from all parks in every show. Just a thought.
  10. Thank you both, but the pictures are my brothers. I am just the one who posts them on here. Captain, we didn't see you in The Beast station like we normally do. Where were you?
  11. My brother and I went to KI again today after work. We first went up to the top of the Eiffel Tower to get some pictures. Like this of a newly formed gravel access road. There are footing/footer rebar behind the Crypt (which was closed) Once we got down from the tower, we headed toward the train. It left the station right as we got there so we walked back the exit of the Crypt. There are a lot of stakes where the rumored first drop is going to be... Once the train made its round, we hopped on board. As requested, as shot of the ravine. Back in the woods you can kind of make out a huge footing/footer. Since we didn't feel like riding the train back from Boomerang Bay, we took the walk toward NickU. A friendly reminder (which a lot don't pay attention to)... In NickU we rode Avatar (awesome as always). Then Beast and red Racer. On the way out, we got some just disgustingly pretty pictures as the sun was setting. For full sized goodness, and many more pictures.
  12. That would be Premier. They are actually on the list.
  13. For me, it's too hard to pick between B&M and Intamin. Both Intamin and B&M have a good percent of the top steel coasters in the world. Besides the reliability of TTD, I really loved CP's Intamin coasters. They all seemed smooth and well put together, which is what B&M is also known for. I choose Intamin based solely on the fact that I've been on more of their coasters. Gravity Group for wood. The Voyage alone is reason enough to make them number one. That they could build such a kick a$$ world class wooden coaster for 1/3 of what SOB cost is yet another reason. Agreed.
  14. So four across instead of Facing Off? The ride is pretty jerky.
  15. Sorry, your misplaced apostrophe threw off my first go at this post. I doubt any of them will since all the trains are pretty much custom to the Vekoma tracks at KI. Firehawk being flying, Invertigo facing each other, and Rugrats being a family suspended.
  16. Which of KI's 3 Vekoma's? Firehawk Invertigo Rugrats Runaway Reptar
  17. I have only been on one of either: King Cobra and Mantis. King Cobra holds a special place in my heart since it was my first looping coaster (being as it was at the front of the park). Mantis, however, hurt a little more since I was more, shall I say... "developed" when I rode it.
  18. Try this... http://www.abandonedbutnotforgotten.com/AB..._cincinnati.htm
  19. Haha, everyone references RCDB. Here's an interesting paragraph... (italics add my me)
  20. Yeah. It's funny when you give people what they want on how attitudes change. But when you take something away... Watch out! You are now the worst thing in the World. It is too bad what happened to GL. But the bottom line is the bottom line. People were not going and the park was losing money. What kind of reaction would we have if CF came out with this: "Sorry KI (or CW), we were going to install a B & M mega coaster at your park. But due to the amount of money is costs to operate GL in the red, out plans have changed." Obviously, CF would never come out and say that, but it is certain that if money is being poured out somewhere else, we will see less of it here. Good points. I wonder how many/how much people's feelings on CF have changed with the construction of this new coaster... I know mine has some.
  21. AE is the type of coaster that follows the lay of the land. I agree that it would have fit in perfectly in the Rivertown area, but the area of land that it is currently on is perfect for a mine train coaster. Maybe I should have been more clear, not the Mine Train experience, but the Aztec theme in the Coney Mall? How does that fit? AE is actually listed as being in Oktoberfest.
  22. I seriously doubt that CF would consciously do anything to stop NickU (or possibly a rethemed area if the money is not right to renew the contract) from being voted the best kid's area in the world (like making it smaller). There is a lot of money in bringing younger kids to the park, parents willing to spend money in the park to make them happy and creating fans for life. But back on topic, I voted for better than I expected for the same reason others did.
  23. Assuming that the red track at the Clermont plant are for this ride, would that still work with a cobra or a water moccasin? Any snake experts?
  24. I think that is a very good possibility with what you pointed out... as well as being nostalgic.
  25. Remember who wrote the article....think of them looking at a drawing on paper. Is a helix a loop? Terpy, you are a smart cookie... http://www.oxfordpress.com/p/content/gen/s...908coaster.html
