  1. That's dedication. I wish I would have paid closer attention when I saw it.
  2. I wasn't really paying that close of attention to detail, I just looked up when I heard Firehawk. I'll be sure to watch closely next time.
  3. Dang. How can you tell?
  4. I just saw a new commercial on the TV for KI with what appeared to be an operating Firehawk. It was a flying coaster with the correct red track color. Could it actually have been Firehawk or some good computer skills?
  5. I'd prefer putting King Cobra in my back yard but I neither have the money nor the room. But that does look awesome.
  6. "...roller coasters at theme parks..." I'm no big city lawyer, but last time I checked Drop Zone wasn't a roller coaster.
  7. I totally agree with you. Wooden roller coasters are better when they are cutting in and out of the terrain, twisting and turning.
  8. I would pay Disney any amount of money to put in ExtraTERRORestial Alien Encounter back by FoF and Firehawk since they mistakenly took it out to put in the joke of a Stitch ride. Kids would come off Alien Encounter crying, that's how awesome it was.
  9. The sooner, the better
  10. This wouldn't be the first time that a record-setting/first of its kind roller coaster failed at KI (see The Bat). I'm sure that CF will make the decision based on what's best for the park and they won't be afraid to scrap a record breaker in order to keep the public safe. CF has recently realized that records can be broken (Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster) but nothing can beat a well themed and exhilarating ride (Maverick). It will be very interesting seeing how everything unfolds.

    vortex

I also rode Vortex Saturday and I have to agree that it was an especially spectacular ride. It could have been because the track was lightly misted with rain. Vortex should not be removed to "make room" because if King's Island has something that Cedar Point doesn't it's room to build.
  12. Yeah, it was raining there today. Are they ever going to paint the supports?!? It's still the old faded black from X-Flight.
  13. When I was going up the hill on Vortex at around 4:15, I noticed that they started testing empty trains but I had to leave shorty after that so I don't know if or when it was opened.
  14. I noticed today that on one of the fountain drink dispensers in Coney Mall that there was a picture of Xcelerator from Knott's Berry Farm but I haven't looked at any of the merchandise.
  15. You can never go wrong with some tubbing.
  16. Too true. Well the only water park on that list that is self-sustaining is the Beach so I would have to go with that. The Cliff is awesome as well as the water coaster, Aztec Adventure. I've only been to KI's water park once (Waterworks) and I don't remember there being that much to do. I will be going a good amount to Boomerang Bay this year now that I have a season pass. Last summer I went to Blizzard Beach and I have to say that there's no much like dropping 120 feet at 55 mph on Summit Plummit. Other than that I am usually disappointed with water parks with the lack of rides and having to ride most slides several times to try to get a half day in. But maybe it's just me and they don't want you spending that much time there...
  17. I rode the ride formerly known as Stealth at the park formerly known as Paramounts Great America and I have to say that it was amazing. The wait was extremely long since they only had one loading station but it was worth it. Going through the loop head first has got to be one of the most interestingly thrilling feels out there. It is a must ride for anyone. (and yes that sun will be killer in the afternoon when you're going up the lift hill)
  18. Yeah, I was wondering when they were going to add Firehawk to the sign. I'm guessing they'll just shift FoF over to the left a little and then Firehawk will be offset to the right on the arc since that's how they are situated in the area.
  19. That list is oddly disappointing. Why the serious lack of coasters? Could they not rearrange anymore of the queues? It will come in handy with The Beast but I will be flabbergasted if Firehawk is not added to that list when it opens.
  20. It would be nice if somehow, somewhere on the park map they would indicate which rides had the Gold Pass speed lanes (like Disney with FastPass). I tried to look for something like that on the map I had but I could not find anything.
  21. I'm sure that there is a lot of finish work that we can't really see that needs to be done. Painting needs to be done, testing and inspections, landscaping..... True. I was just trying to get around the crowds on Memorial Day Weekend. It looks like all is for not...
  22. Besides finishing the paint job and the station and testing, what else needs to be done? I went today and it looked like the track was all together.
  23. Assuming there will be soft openings for Firehawk, what date would be your educated guess they will start? Or does anyone out there have better than an educated guess?

    Top Gun

Top Gun is way to short. If they change the area at all, I'd like to see KI get a B&M inverted coaster and that Downtown Disney type area sounds awesome.
