  1. You should do promotional videos for CP. lol
  2. the speed is still up there. it opened at 1:45. we were on the first train open to the public. the employees of the park rode the 2 prior trains. both trains are running. restraints are similar to The Beast, except not as confining. no pain at all. i have 2 slipped discs in my back and an artificial hip and had no problems at all. i would like to hear the actual speed. they only got in a couple of trains before it started raining. we headed out at that point. that's the great thing about living 8 miles from the park. if rains or gets too crowded, we just head home. we'll probably go back later if we get a lot of rain. that tends to drive people from the park. Are you sure you should be riding at all!? With a medical history like that I would think your doctor would ban you from coasters. I suppose modern medicine is amazing though.
  3. I have seen reports of this rumor elsewhere so its not just peteytherocker pulling crap out of his butt. It's probably a whole group of people who are doing it.
  4. One that other site people reported that workers replaced a piece of wood near where the loop used to be yesterday.
  5. The X-Flight colors were ugly IMO. I love the new Firehawk colors but as a Buckeye fan I might be a little biased towards anything that looks similar to scarlet and gray. As for which park it fits in, KI is definitely the better fit. When I was at Geauga Lake I saw a lot of families with small children and not very many teens or young adults. With that kind of attendance GL should be focusing on family rides instead of big thrills. Kings Island on the other hand does not have enough thrill rides to satisfy the large number of teens that are always there. Hopefully Firehawk will be one of many new thrills to come to KI. The only problem with Firehawk is that it wasn't built for KI so there wasn't really a good spot for it. The X-base theme is really great though.
  6. My mom always raved about how cool The Bat was. She was really excited for Top Gun but when she actually rode it she was very disappointed. She thought The Bat was far superior.
  7. Leave all valuables in your car. Put your car key on a wrist band or something else you can keep on you. Put your towel on a chair or in the grass and hope it doesn't get stolen. (It probably won't). Definitely don't miss Coolangatta Racer, Tazmanian Typhoon, and Snowy River Rampage. Coolangatta Racer is probably my favorite ride in the water park. Skip Down Under Thunder. All the lifeguards I know (which is 4) say it is the slowest slide in the park. Bondi Pipeline has been known to give major wedgies and some people have smacked their head so I would skip that one too.
  8. I want Raptor or something similar at KI. Raptor is such a great ride. It's one of the things I look forward to the most when I go to CP.
  9. I really hope it opens today. I will be coming down from Columbus with my friends on July 7th so it would be nice to have it open. My friend has never ridden it.
  10. First off, Both AE and SOB are between X-base and Top Gun making it impossible for Top Gun to ever be linked to X-base. Plus its just too far away even if those other rides weren't in the way. My plan for the Top Gun area would be to remove Days of Thunder and build a new flat there as well as one behind Xtreme Skyflyer. An alternative would be removing Timberwolf to install a major new coaster but I feel like Action Zone is too overdeveloped for another coaster. Second, SOB and Delerium aren't going anywhere and King Cobra is probably rusted beyond use. I miss it too but it isn't ever coming back.
  11. Delerium is far superior to Tomb Raider especially now that all theming has been removed from that ridiculous excuse for a ride.
  12. didn't they have those in the AE tunnels the first couple years it was opened?
  13. I highly doubt it. BB water is chlorinated. I'm pretty sure WWC water is not chlorinated otherwise the water wouldn't be that murky green color.
  14. I agree. That ride is really painful for me on the bunny hills at the end. My expression on the ORP was hilarious to see afterwards though.
  15. I'm sure CF will get around to updating the website. It needs an overhaul anyways. I've found it very difficult to navigate sometimes.
  16. 11320 Chester Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45246 Grand opening is scheduled for November.
  17. I noticed that the trains looked really short as well. It looked like there were only 12 seats! The pictures of Hurricane at Myrtle Beach show trains that are twice as long.
  18. I guess my biggest problem is the fact that people were injured on the ride. I just doesn't seem right to me to be selling merchandise for a ride that injured people if you haven't determined if it will ever be safe again. Obviously I'd like to see it re-open but until it is deemed safe again I don't feel like selling merchandise for it is appropriate. Selling promotional items for "coming attractions" would be something I'd actually love to see. It might mean we would know about the new rides earlier than usual.
  19. We took a trip to Kelly's Island when I went last year. It was a great way to relax for a day.
  20. I think this might be one of the stupidest comments I have ever heard. Does this mean when Firehawk goes down, KI should stop selling Firehawk merchandise? Obviously you don't know anything about business if you believe in that. Well of course it isn't from a profit standpoint. I'm not a complete moron. I was speaking more from an ethical/moral standpoint. It just feels dishonest to me.
  21. That's not good business if you ask me. You shouldn't be selling new SOB merchandise when the ride isn't even opened yet.
  22. I was really hoping for a DJ station for Firehawk but alas none has appeared. As for the music, I actually really liked the old PKI music. There was lots of John Williams on it and he has written some of the best movie scores ever. Last time I was there they were just playing pop crap. My brother who works in the water park said that they will be getting a new soundtrack there sometime soon.
  23. Well if they continue at the pace of Paramount with the Nick Universe Expansions they might as well just throw Rivertown out the window and retheme TR:TR as Legend of the Hidden Temple. There's a 90's throwback for ya. Man those kids sucked at putting together that silver monkey.
  24. Google Earth directions say it will be a 27 minute trip if you follow PKIVortex's directions. I would tend to agree with Google especially considering all the construction going on at I-75 and rt. 63. Its a real mess over there.
