  1. Yeah but the designer information specifically mentions Millennium Flyers. Also, the ride rendering images of the trains appear to be Millennium Flyers, although it is a bit harder to tell from the front views.
  2. It will serve the same purpose: an extra block. The coaster will have 3 trains and no mid-course brake run. So an extra block has likely been added to the back of the station. My guess is it will be something like Thunderbird's launch barn. I disagree about the "let down" part. I personally have always liked Adventure Express' ending.
  3. I'm sure the website will go live right after the announcement. The announcement is mostly just to hear Mr. Scheid and Mr. Helbig talk about the ride.
  4. The countdown is on. Announcement Thursday to be followed quickly by Anticipointment Friday.
  5. Team GCI Prowler + Gold Striker tunnels for layout Nothing overly special. No records. Potential for being a fan favorite. I think the name will be creature-based. I'd like to see a bear type name, but there are already 2 Grizzlies in the Cedar Fair chain. 2nd guess would be wolf-themed. Maybe "Wolfpack".
  6. I figured "Game Over!" was Beast Gal's guess for the name of the coaster.
  7. Well the picture of it dismantled appears to be from yesterday. So I'm going to guess it is still down. It might be a week or two at minimum depending on what needs to be repaired.
  8. Usually longer than Thursdays, but shorter than Saturdays. How's that?
  9. The video title says "March 1979". That's before the ride opened to the public, hence the video is from during testing. Based on how slow the train is going, I wonder how many cars were in the actual train on that day. The train design was later changed to one that didn't match the station quite as well. That's why there are still arrows painted on the floor in the station pointing to the row of your seat.
  10. If that is true, then what was the purpose of the unique kicker tire system installed at the end of the "brake shed"? It doesn't seem like those tires were needed/used during normal operation.
  11. Very nice. Diana's Bananas are also the brand they sell at Cedar Point. They have become more difficult to find there as well this year. There was only a single cart selling them near Power Tower as of last week.
  12. Maybe they should start by fixing the parking lot tolls.
  13. Yep, I think it is still called "Paradise Island"? It's the building on path between the Diamondback splash lake and the Backlot Stunt Coaster parking garage. It was open this past Friday and did indeed have pictures of both chocolate and nut-covered bananas on the window.
  14. Yeah but I don't think they would ever consider putting heavier trains on The Beast. They would be lighter or about the same weight. Of course, that can lead to other problems if the engineering isn't done right. I've read rumors that Timberliner trains were not put on The Voyage at Holiday World because they ran too fast due to the lighter weight. That could be totally bogus though. Son of Beast failed using its "designed" Premier trains. In retrospect, those trains were probably the worst wooden coaster trains I've ever ridden in...but I did like the yellow and red paint scheme.
  15. I think the word you are searching for is 'weathervane'.
  16. It was just a few years ago that they paved all the paths and areas of the Picnic Grove. Until then, a lot of it had just been gravel/stone. Group sales seem like they would be a big time money maker, especially for a park in a major metro area like Cincinnati.
  17. Son of Beast has a rather ignomious reputation with the general public. I don't think the park would want the baggage that would come with reusing the name. In fact, even though Beast related names are amusing, I would be very surprised if the park chose to name another coaster in similar fashion. Besides, when you have a great name like Cowboy Coaster, why use something else?
  18. Nice photos. Every time I see a Diamondback photo, all I can think of is how dirty the trains look.
  19. ^^ That's ironic, because Diamondback didn't have a line of more than 15-20 minutes for most of the day yesterday.
  20. I'm all for new trains. The ride might even seem less rough if you are sitting in a comfortable train instead of wedged into the current seats. As for the rest, I don't think the layout or track needs any modification at all. It's not like removing the trims is going to add any air time. It would just make the turns more violent.
  21. I wonder what the turn out ended up being for the camp out this year. Maybe the same as the previous year? Or a little better due to the better camping location?
  22. You left off a couple, most notably Gold Striker at CGA (2013). Knott's also received a Wild Mouse coaster in 2013. With the exception of the B&M Gigas, all the coasters are different types. How about that, Six Flags? The blueprints look like Prowler plus tunnels. I expect air time, 85 degree banked turns, and a curving drop. The Giga will have to wait until 2019 or 2020 I guess.
  23. The tweets are getting deeper.... https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/739876390967902208
  24. Another tweet. Similar photo, but different train. https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/739867583600590848
  25. Maybe they should update the app to display food wait times?
