The Fairly Odd Coaster is the oldest coaster in the park isn't it? the "grandson of The Beast" name wouldn't make sense then the Grandson is older than Grandpa! I really don't care what they call it honestly. It was renamed to Beastie because of the popularity of The Beast, and renamed to Fairly odd Coaster to go along with the Nick Universe theming. If the rumors are true about Cedar Fair dropping the Nick theming after this year than I'm sure the name will be changed again. To what I don't know but Grandson of The Beast definitly wouldn't make sense!

It seems to me that somebody had a good idea but implemented it poorly. I think the concept is cool, but looking at the HRP map, theres hardly anything to do. Add the High prices, and of course downtime of rides being its the rides first year as well... really kinda makes you wonder how does anyone get started in the Amusement Park business? Obviously you can't open a park with a world class waterpark, and 7 monster multi-million dollar coasters, not without any profit anyway. Guess these days you have to be Cedar Fair, or Six Flags to actually open a new park!

I put ok. Not that I have a problem with the name at all, but it is just that, a name. I really don't know what it would take to be an "awesome" name, so I voted 3 its ok. I don't hate it, but its not awesome by any means. Now the ride itself, thats pretty awesome, but whats in a name anyway? Put it this way: Its better than the renamed paramount rides, but still not "awesome". Its one that will grow on you and eventually roll off your tounge.

From my understanding in order for it to be a true "hyper" it has to be made out of steel. From my understanding it has to be a steel coaster that is designed like a wooden coaster, and if its over 200 feet its technically a "mega" coaster. 300 feet means "giga" and 400 feet is "Tera". Don't quote me on thats just what I read.

Kings Island by far! I do not like Holiday world! You ride Raven and Voyage and you look around and wonder "What else is there to do?" The Water park is nice, but other than the Water Park and 2 coasters thats about it. When I went, the Raven was their only real coaster, and the park was packed! BTW I'm confused as to how people can rate the Raven or Voyage over the Best wooden coaster in the world that lies in Rivertown at Kings Island.

Yeah I think it lived up to the hype. Can't wait to ride it next year! I will admit I was hoping for a Dive coaster with several inversions, but a Hyper is something Kings Island's always been missing, and it'll be nice to ride something bigger than Son of Beast and without the roughness. The trains are very unique and the splashdown ending is a nice touch.

After reading the facts I can see both sides of the story. To me it seems like the kid was "taking advantage of his disability" and looking for favors. The park management got frustrated and used his disability as an excuse so he'd get off. Both sides were wrong. The manager should of told him just because he's blind he doesn't get extra rides, and he would have to go purchase a ticket and get in line once again. He shouldn't stubbornly just stay on the ride 3 times.

Yeah I stumbled upon this park when I was looking up B&M coasters and saw "Led Zeplin:The Ride - a B&M sitdown coaster". So I clicked on that one, and then found out about the whole park. I thought it was a cool concept and an awesome start. Is it really true they can't go over 150 Feet? Well they might as well bulldoze it now! With the ride closings and stuff, you'd like to think its just a first year thing. KI can never keep a coaster running consistently its first year, so imagine a whole park of new rides! Anyway I thought Myrtle Beach had some amusement park called "the Pavillion" that was bulldozed and I automatically assumed that HRP was the replacement. Just curious because everyone's acting like they have never had an amusement park there before. Isn't that where our Son of Beast Trains came from?

Your typical stupid american company thats making millions and sees the $$$$ not the problems. Thats all I really have to say.

I can imagine we're good for a while after this coaster. Cedar Fair bought the park and put 2 coasters in within a 3 year period. Its hard to complain about KI honestly anyway just because even before Firehawk it was one of the parks out there with a higher coaster count. Theres plenty to keep you busy most of the day. I just wish they'd add more flat rides to even it out. Thats really why this rumor is probably untrue. I'd be willing to bet money that the next ride after our B&M hypercoaster will be a flat ride.

I have never been but I haven't heard much good about it either. Most people here who have been have described it as "Trashy" and "unclean". And I'm still not crazy about how the rides system works. I went to IB's site and its only $2 to get in, but that doesn't include ride admission. From my understanding you either pay-per-ride like a fair, or you can buy an 8 hour ride session pass that is like $30! For me, Kings Island is probably about the same distance so I'd just rather go to the park thats proven, than a park that just now got its first coaster with inversions

I don't have an issue with Stand Up's. I've rode King Cobra, Iron Wolf, and Chang, liked all 3 honestly, but I remember Chang being pretty painful. I don't see us getting one anytime soon, however, since Riddler's revenge was built like 10 years ago, and its pretty much the last one ever built. Doesn't upset me though. I'd rather have something new and more modern. I don't miss the cobra much either. Honestly it was a pretty tame coaster. Small hills and one freaking inversion! after you get over the standing up part, you realize you could have more fun going to coney mall and riding The Vortex

Steel Hawg When I found out Indiana Beach was building this, by the description they gave I thought they were Getting an Arrow custom Looper (especially since S&S owns the remains of Arrow). Now that its built, well wtf is that thing? Its freaking weird! Its like a Mad Mouse mated with an Arrow Custom looper and this was the offspring.

It would be worth just to ride the legendary bat IMO. From my understanding, it was the most intense of all the suspended coasters. However, like Son of Beast, it just wasn't meant to be done, so Arrow Dynamics had to tone it down to make the suspended successful. The Bat being the first of its kind, and the kind of maintenance problems it had, has almost become a part of pop culture. It was broke down so much that people who've acctually got to ride the thing are almost considered legends!

Well since I'm talking about "not caring" I gotta speak up in this thread, lol. Yeah I don't like the new ride names, but honestly I don't give a darn either. Cedar Fair had to remove the licensed ride names, and they did it. yeah I think they could be better, but once again your not going to see me lobbying to change the names either! In the end, the names don't affect the rides what-so-ever. And as for my last post, I was giving my opinion, and yeah thats my opinion they suck, but I really don't care either. the more I Think of it "top gun" is crappy name for a ride too! Lol

Well honestly I'm sure by my comments It sounds like I cared, but I really don't. Honestly I'm indifferent. They want to run it backwards they can run it backwards, they want to run it foward, they can run it forward. While I preferred the backwards racer every time I rode it, you're not going to see my lobbying to flip it back around.

Enlighten me, Terpy. Seriously, not being a smart ass here either, just want to know what you know. Honestly I'm open minded to The Racer facing either way. It was flipped as a quick fix to make people feel better about The Bat being broken down all the time, obviously nowadays the Bat is long gone, and its replacement, The Vortex, has been one of the best Investment's KI ever built, not to mention they got a hell of a deal building it. So obviously nowadays the reasons The Racer as flipped doesn't matter, so I'm fine with it going foward or backwards. But why is it a better investment to keep it going foward than backwards?

Trust me, for the type of ride FoF is I can believe it was a major investment. Honestly, I don't have a problem with any of the rides Paramount put in. And the rides they took out, aren't a big deal either. Who really cares about Antique cars these days? Honestly with Gas prices the way they are, those things would probably be shut down this year anyway due to gas prices. But a B&M invert, is almost just as much of a standard as an Arrow custom looper these days so I wonder why KI never gone one.

Yeah I was looking at Kings Dominion information the other day. Kings Island and Cedar Point are the only Cedar Fair parks I've been to. Volcano looks awesome! And now that they have dominator, It gives me another reason to want to go. Isn't KD the true "sister park" to Kings Island? Correct me if I'm wrong but prior to paramounts purchase, they were the only 2 parks in the chain right?

But KD got "Volcano: The Blast Coaster", which I know isn't B&M (Its Intamin AG I think isn't it?) but it at least its a serious Invert, not a Vekoma Boomerang

I've been to KI 3 times this summer, first was opening day, which was a bad trip, and I ended up leaving the park early, so I didn't even go near The Racer that time. We road Top Gun, Firehawk, Son of Beast, and Vortex, and got out of there. I don't want to go into that trip. Next trip, only one side was open, and my most recent trip, both sides were open, but they didn't race. They launced the blue car, then loaded the red car, and launched it.

Nah don't get me wrong. Really I guess I shouldn't even attack that coaster. I think Fof Is an awesome coaster and a very unique one. Other than its clone at KD there's nothing else out there like it. Its amazing how they fit an awesome coaster in a relatively small building, and its definitly the best In-door roller coaster in the world. And everyone knows I love Son of Beast. IN fact I'm one of the few people who don't consider it a bust, and think it delivered everything it promised. I just don't quite get why KI didn't get a B&M invert... in fact other Paramont parks did, we didn't!

I would be fine with 3 coasters in 5 years but I don't see it happening. But we effectively will be gettin 2 coasters in 3 years, which is awesome. And they are actually large, world class coasters, not tiny little things like Invertigo, FoF, or BLST, which btw I love all 3 of them, but other than Son of Beast, Paramount put in all pretty small piddly coasters. And somehow paramount seemed to miss the whole B&M invert trend. If we get another one I hope its a B&M Invert, but unlikely as those are seeming to be a dying trend. I gotta admit coming to the park in 1999 and seeing face off with my own eyes, I was mad. my exact words were "I've been waiting years for Kings Island to give us an inverted coaster like Batman the Ride or Raptor, and they give us this tiny piece of sh**?" nevertheless my opinion changed of Invertigo after I rode it, but still would of rather had an awesome B&M invert than Vekoma Inverted Boomerang.
