  1. Unless you really do attend a private event at Cedar Point, you probably will not get a "very" short line on Maverick. The shortest I have ever had on there is 45 minutes. But, the longest i have had is 4 hours. My opinion. Just wait it out. Or try and get there at the very beginning of the day adn run straight to it. haha My family and I actually did get to the park at 9 but since we dont have Platinum Passes and didnt stay at a resort, we were not able to get into the park until 10. Plus we actually decided to go to MF first but we were only able to walk while everyone else ran. So what I did to save time was take my moms bag and run to the lockers outside of the MF entrance, only to find out that 1) Lockers are either $2 or $3 and 2) You could only use dollar coins and not quarters so by the time we got that done, MF already had a posted 1 3/4 hour wait but turned out to only be 45 minutes so wasn't bad. Also, if I could get a 45-60 minute wait for Maverick I would be very happy but both times I went it was posted as a 2 hour wait and then the 3rd time it was closed for the night. Lol. Especially when it's a station wait. It's amazing. Heck yeah it is. There was nothing better than being able to ride SoB many times without waiting no more than 5-10 minutes each time. Plus I always thought a night ride on it was awesome as well, of course it didn't beat a Beast night ride or now a Diamondback night ride, it was still a good one in my opinion
  2. Watch what you say, you never know who you could be talking about. Actually Terpy is right, yes there is a cell phone involved and yes that is me in the green circle.
  3. As long as you don't take 30min to get a milkshake out. Kidding. Haha, I promise to do my best at taking orders and getting them out to you and everybody else as fast as I can
  4. Hey if I had a SoB shirt I would wear it. I wouldn't care what anybody else thought, I personally like the ride and would like it to stay. Hope everybody that is attending the event next weekend has an awesome time. I've been to all 3 KIC events in the past 2 years and had a blast at all of them. Not to mention, as others have said also, even though there isn't alot planned for the people that are going, the backstage tours, ERT times, etc are not all what really make these events so enjoyable, its the chance of meeting new people, meeting other members of the KIC universe, and spending time with friends and family that really makes these events truly enjoyable.
  5. ^^I agree with you. I just got back from Cedar Point yesterday afternoon. It was my first ever trip up there and got on everything I wanted to except for Maverick so that would be my first ride on a day like that. Hopefully I will be able to get another trip up there sometime and hopefully the waits aren't as bad as they were Wednesday. I was thinking about attending this event but decided not to and its a good thing I did. I will still be at the park but I will actually be working as I just got hired into Food & Beverage. I've heard a few comments about Jukebox Diner on here but even if you don't like the food from there you should all come by and say "Hi" to me as that is where I was assigned to work.
  6. ^^Yesterday (Friday) it seemed pretty common as the crew was trying so hard to break the capacity record for the hour as they did it for about 3 or 4 straight hours. I didn't even ride at that point, just standing at the exit watching how fast the crew was moving was giving me enough thrill.
  7. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet but if you are at the park in the morning, in front of the fountains at the Kings Island sign, the National Anthem is now performed live instead of the recording that nobody could ever really hear. It is performed by one cast member each day from either Down Home Country or County Line. I will have a video up asap showing the singing of our National Anthem from today (Saturday)
  8. Which performer in Down Home Country is your friend? Sorry to hear about your cell phone. At least you got a new one though

  9. Thank you Ryan. Somebody with the same opinion as me. I loved County Line last season, and love it even more this season. The cast this season is also VERY friendly as I have seen the show over 20 times this season and even watched 5 out of the 6 showings of it Monday the 27th and after every show, I will go up and talk to the cast and they seem to really enjoy having me around for all of the shows. If this was last season I may have picked Flashback: Totally 80's. I thought the show was very well done last season but now this season I just can't get into the show. Endless Summer I think is the best it has ever been. The skaters are VERY talented and seem to just enjoy the show alot more than previous seasons. Down Home Country I enjoy, I just don't like older style country music. Most of the songs I am not a big fan of but I think just the way the show is performed by the cast really makes me enjoy it. I have yet to see Marty's Party though. Once my younger cousin comes into town in a couple of weeks, I will try to take her into it as I really want to see the show with all of the great comments I have heard about it.
  10. Well you are at 40 so 60 away from 100. If you can go to the park 2 or 3 more days (weekdays) you can get a good amount of rides in and you would be at 100 in no time

  11. Thanks for the 100th ride comment. It was just as exciting as the first and my heart was beating faster than ever before after that ride. It was awesome!

  12. Wow, all of a sudden there are alot of Goshen people coming on here. I know who you are also, you were in one of my classes.

And we all know that Goshen is peaceful. Lol

  13. 100% The only thing that just about got me was the question about Rick Wallenda. I always forget if he broke his fathers or grandfathers record.
  14. Monster is the only ride that makes me the slightest bit dizzy. That's mainly because I shift my weight to one side and try to get it to spin, thats what makes the ride fun
  15. I have noticed what you are talking about but didn't notice it until like my 10th time on it. Another thing I notice and I know other people have noticed is when you get to the top of the lift hill on Diamondback you feel a slight hesitation, especially the further back you are sitting in the train, when that happens the front of the train is starting to crest the top of the lift hill.
  16. Happy Birthday Kat!

  17. After a little bit of research, The Beach actually bought 2 slides from the old Wyandot Lake so maverick2007 was correct. The Beach received Jet Stream and Zuma Falls after they were auctioned off and it was rumored that one of them were going to be installed for this season. Below is a picture of the pieces that I saw. Again not really the best picture but you can see what I was talking about.
  18. When I went to Bob Evans a few weeks ago I saw what appeared to be pieces for an enclosed water slide in the field across the street from there. I'm not sure if that is exactly what I saw and I had no idea if they were parts to an old water slide that they had or if it was possibly for a new slide that they would put in. Since I had no idea I took pictures of it but the quality isnt the best. Ill try to upload them if I can if you guys want me to. I'll do a little more research on this slide that screamscape says they bought and see if it could match what I saw.
  19. When you pull up the homepage look off to the right where the park sponsors are and you will see something that says follow Kings Island. Click on that and it will give you the link to everything in order to follow Kings Island. To make it easier though for now I will give you the link though. Kings Island Insider
  20. Great TR Mark. Im sorry I'm just trying to remember who exactly you were. When you meet 15 new people at once its hard to remember who exactly was who. Nice meeting you nevertheless. Glad you had fun in our big group
  21. Some of the more dumber things but yet it still gets people to laugh. 1) The older man that usually works either the carousel or the Tower most of the time, I believe his name is Mike. Every day he works the tower and is the actual driver of the elevator, when there is a good sized crowd inside he will go over the rules, facts, etc then he will put his back to everybody in the elevator, take the mic, and make a farting noise into the mic to try to make people laugh while going up. 2) The second one is also from the Tower but a different guy driving, he was trying to fit 3 more people into the elevator so when trying to get everybody to scoot back he says, "Ok, I need everybody to step towards the back of the elevator, don't be afraid to squish the person behind you and no pull my finger jokes." The second one actually got a little chuckle out of me as I would most likely be the one to say something like that if I was the employee. I just thought of another one, a couple years back, me and my cousin were back at the viewing area of WWC, before they installed the new cannons that guests can shoot, one lady whose name slips my mind loved to have fun with the guests viewing and the guests inside the boats. Anytime a boat would come she would look at the number and say "Hi boat number (insert number here)" If they started talking to her she would just talk back but if there was a boat that didn't say anything to her, she would fire the cannon at least 5 times and would get everybody absolutely DRENCHED!! After getting done soaking people from one boat she suddenly said, "I love my job, its a very good stress reliever because I get to come in and press a button that says cannon and soak people"
  22. Would not surprise me one bit. Unfortunately there are many people now that will do anything to get some extra money. It blows my mind some of the lawsuits people file against theme parks, grocery stores, and places like that to earn extra cash.
  23. I COMPLETELY agree with what you just said. I'm sorry but Mrs. Felix needs to try to put herself in the shoes of Kings Island. You try getting 10,000+ guests into certain shelters around the park with sometimes not even 1/5 of that number of employees. I was not there that night but what I have heard so far from MANY people, I believe Kings Island did the best that they could. Just like what MarketingExpress said, this isn't a common occurence in this area, tornadoes don't get this close to the park everyday nor do they every year for that matter. Like you said hamoperator, you need to know your surroundings, if there is a tornado warning, common sense in this situation is NOT to stand under the awning at the front entrance. If you hear a tornado warning or even just a severe thunderstorm warning, it is said to always take shelter in a sturdy structure which Kings Island has MANY, and there are alot of them right there close to the entrance. I'm sorry but I think people just lose their minds when it comes to some things like this. They think that somebody HAS to take care of THEM all the time which is NOT true. (Sorry for the all caps, just trying to make a point) Kudos to all of the employees at Kings Island for doing the best job that they could in this situation and also kudos to those guests who listened to those employees and also doing what you needed to on your own to get to shelter in the park.
  24. ^^^One of his friends I believe. Thats the only Josh I can think of
