Kings Island overall food concession experience 2015
cholderfield replied to Tr0y's topic in Kings Island
We've only visited the park two or three times, but aside from two small issues nothing major. Our visit last weekend we are at the Reds HOF Grille. Food was very good and the waitress as friendly. The only minor issue is she dropped off our check and we sat there about 15 minutes waiting to pay. With no sign of her we hunted down someone else so we could pay. Oh and there was a guy making an @$$ of himself at the ice cream stand by the jukebox diner. He wasn't being rude and was just trying to have a good time...but he wasn't taking anything seriously...and should not be able to "make" ice cream cones!!! Sent from my 831C using Tapatalk -

Congratulations on your special day I proposed to my wife at Kings Island , and it makes it that much more of a special place.

Great point! I's only been to Geauga Lake once and it was a few years before they closed it down. I couldn't believe how empty the park was! Middle of summer, I believe it was a Friday or Saturday, and nearly every ride wait was 5-10 minutes.

I received a notification through the KI app that there was a HVAC issue but it will be back open tomorrow.

My wife and I went several years ago. I can't remember which tour it was, but they went off the trail and drove us right up to most of the animals. It cost extra but it was worth every penny. You haven't lived until you smell a rhino fart (or have it try to chew your side view mirror!)

Probably a dumb question but.... Still curiuos of opinions.

It's been perfect so far. We've been here for about an hour and a half and have already been on Banshee, The Bat, Invertigo, Delirium, Adventure Express, and The Racer. It hasn't rained since about 10:45. -
So that's where the Banshee line went...
-
Banshee line is much shorter now than prior to breakdown. 15-20 minutes!
-
...and now she's back!
-
Banshee down.
-
Banshee running empty trains...
-
Delirium- 35 minute wait
-
Thank you!

I'm thinking about heading to the park tomorrow. For the past several years, I've been lucky enough to make it several times per season. This season, tomorrow will be my first and only visit for the season. Should I expect heavy crowds? I've never really been this late in the regular season. Any tips are appreciated!

What's Up With Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular?
cholderfield replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Interesting- so a company was contracted to produce (and one would presume, maintain) Starlight Spectacular? -
Hahah thanks! I just find it such an eye sore to leave the station there floating in the air especially if that area is getting revamped. Can we get more to decode please Don?! This is a bit fun!!! Well -- the speculation is that the new ride has a haunted type theme. The station can be used this year as a Haunt attraction like has it been the last couple years ... then in 2014 it is still used as a Haunt attraction but as the station for a roller coaster with a haunted type theme. Don's statement then holds up. He never said it would be the same attraction in 2013 and 2014. I think it goes without saying that SOB's station will not be used for the new attraction. Again...SOB's station will not be used for the 2014 attraction. One more time...SOB's station will NOT BE USED for the 2014 attraction. That is all.

Muse- The 2nd Law: Unsustainable "All Natural and Technological processes proceed in such a way The availability of the remaining energy decreases In all energy exchanges if no energy enters or leaves an isolated system The entropy of that system increases Energy continuously flows from being being concentrated to becoming dispersed, spread out, wasted, useless New energy cannot be created and high grade energy being destroyed An economy based on endless growth is UNSUSTAINABLE The fundamental laws of thermodynamics will place fixed limits on technological innovation and human advancements In an isolated system, the entropy can only increase A species set on endless growth is UNSUSTAINABLE"

Just to hit on this point real quick- I visited Cedar Point last Sunday (6/2)- it was the slowest day I've seen at the park. Several coasters were down early on (due to high winds?)- including Gatekeeper, TTD, Raptor. Once Gatekeeper opened (around 10-11am), the line quickly filled out to the plaza (but not all queues were open). We waited in line for about an hour before riding. Later on in the day, 4-5pm, the line was 10-15 minutes long. Gatekeeper is brillant- its FUN, but not necessarily thrilling. There are quite a bit of forces, but the ride is smooth and has a GREAT view. Its kind of hard to explain...definitely not one to miss while at the park.

I would check out this post from dr_humor on May 24 (2013): http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27415-cedar-point-trip-suggestions/?p=516330 I agree with just about everything stated there...however, I have had trouble getting on Maverick for ERT. I only visited Cedar Point 3-4 times last season, but many times Maverick was not open for ERT (or park opening for that matter). Enjoy your trip- I'm going this Sunday!
