  1. if you were facing the laser game in Coney Mall (Maul right now.) Cuddle up was where the Attitude shop is and the Dogems was where the squirt game/DED Haunt are now. It was a frugal thing to do, to reuse the structure.
  2. There is actually room back there for a couple of flat rides....I like the Spooky Hollow idea.
  3. I see that the floor is wooden. I wonder if the mechanical parts came from Coney Island? I know the cups are different. If you know the manufacturer of the ride that would be so cool to see it come back to the park.
  4. ...which building is this? It was where the rock T-shirt shop next to the laser maze is located now...cant remember the shop name....darn it. "Attitudes", may be shop name?
  5. Woah hold on a second....I have to disagree with that statement. When Fearfest opened it was only International Street, Octoberfest, Paramount theater, Phantom theater and the hall where Carnevil is located. No other part of the park was open...and on the opening weekend the crowds were massive to the point that it was difficult to move. My friend and I were sitting on I Street eating pizza when they announced that the event time was being extended from 12 to 1 am to accommodate the crowds and it stayed there throughout the first seasons event, and beyond. The next weekend they opened up Coney Mall to release the over flow of people from I Street and relieve the congestion. And no other part of the park was open. The next year it was announced that it would be included with Gold Pass as a free event to jack up the volume of Gold Pass sales and make a boat load of money for the park and that's when they gradually opened up the park until the entire adult part of the park was open. It's all about increasing sales and if the park thinks that people will spend more money with a pay as you go Haunt attraction, it will happen. They are certainly looking at what other seasonal parks are doing, and if they can "one up" them, I'm sure they will do that. I wouldn't discount a pay as you go Haunt. Busch Gardens Tampa and Knotts Berry Farm have had a more intense haunt attraction for a couple of years now. At Busch Gardens their pay as you go has been so popular that this year they were taking reservations. I think that it is only a matter of time before one comes to the park, and they are waiting to spring it on us at the just the right time...its strategic.
  6. ACTUALLY. Mrs. Vorhees says "Kill her, mommy!" "Kill her, Mommy." was shortened to "Ki ki ki, ma, ma, ma. Bonus features rock! 2:00 is where he talks about this. Wow thanks! I have the vhs version ...believe it or not and a dvd but not any anniversary dvd....what a great clip...I'll have to look at the other clips online. Also, notice how independent horror films seem to slam the box office. Friday the 13 and Halloween were both independent and panned by critics as losers, yet both had record sales.
  7. I think a very intense, pay as you go Haunt would go over really well at Halloween Haunt. Perhaps one similar to Alone. where guests walk through in groups of 4 or less. Something dark where they would have to feel their way through, with occasional flashes of lightning to light the way. Something based on a mansion....Perhaps the guests could participate as "paranormal investigators" with video camera's to record their journey that would be emailed to them on the last day of the haunt for a souvenir, as well as a t-shirt . Anyone like this idea? If you like the idea, let's expand the idea, room by room for fun? First outside the house, one guest would be given camera glasses to wear inside. Room 1. Guests are welcomed into a foyer with three doors (unbeknownst to the guests they all lead to the same room) and a table with four items. They are told by a mysterious voice why they are there and that they must choose an item for each member to carry, then to chose their fate by selecting a door.... Groups of less than four people would chose one item to carry of the four. a. a flashlight b. a key c. a map d. a rain poncho next room....anyone want to expand?
  8. Sometimes I go to KI and never ride a thing....I've stayed from opening to closing, and the shortest stay has been 20 minutes (long lines determine how long I stay, the longer the line the shorter the stay.) I think the only thing that determines how long I stay at Kentucky Kingdom, is that crazy access bridge between the sections....what a nuisance. If they would put something other than a pedestrian bridge, It might make the stay better. Perhaps a monorail type ride.
  9. Is it even Action Zone anymore? I thought that the Action Zone was a Paramount trademark. They removed the sign before the park went up for sale...right now it's more like "that area" of the park. I think we may be surprised next year....or not... How about Fear Zone theming. Fear of Heights, Fear of water, Fear of Swinging, Fear of Ghosts, Fear of falling backwards.... (Fear of concerts, Fear of empty restaurants, Fear of retail shopping, Fear of toilets and Fear of blue ice cream....LOL)
  10. No matter how many times I see that video, I love it!!!!
  11. I used to give out candy but experience just about the same as you. In my town, the beggers are mostly adults that aren't wearing costumes. It was fun to see the kids in costume, and when that stopped happening, I stopped passing out candy. I remember when we used to have school costume parties and gave out prizes for the best costume. My sister would design my costumes - and every year I would win first prize. One year I was the joker in a deck of cards, and the next year I was a grandfather clock. Then my sisters and brother would take us to a Jaycee's haunted house...I stayed in the car...(wimp - LOL), we used to bob for apples and make and eat caramel popcorn balls. We would always be home in time to watch "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown." Wow...such great memories...and then it was Thanksgiving then Christmas..... !
  12. But who survives?...the perpetual virgin (kind of opposite of ancient tribal mentality - the virgin was the first to go into the volcano!) ... Actually the first F13 was definitely a slasher movie (and by today's standards it was rather tame, there was very little to be seen in the way of gore.), but as it progressed into 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 and remakes, Jason became an unstoppable monster. My favorite horror is ghost related....The Ring, The Haunting, The Conjuring, Insidious 1 and 2...These are fanstasy/horror movies.
  13. At one point in time, I thought it was a creative way to let the audience know the attacker was near announcing, "Killer". I don't think the closed captioning recognizes kill kill kill, her her her...I think it might say eerie sound, or music or something like that...For me it is just years of watching the movie and listening closely....it clicked with me one time when you see the closeup of Mrs Vorhees when she says "kill her mommie...don't let her get away...I won't Jason...No place to run, no place to hide...Kill her, Kill her, Kill her!" It's also not written into the script. I think it was strictly the sound guys using Betsy Palmers line to fill in the sound, very effectively I might add.
  14. Heads will roll....hehe....that is a great movie. Christina's hot as a blond.
  15. Believe it or not, listen closely the next time you watch Friday the 13th...it's Kill Kill Kill Kill, her her her her...words spoken by Mrs. Vorhees when she is chasing the last victim.....bwahahahahaha.
  16. Is this the building with the shipping and receiving (I think?) lettering on it? If so, I'd been trying to figure out what that was for a while; thanks! That's actually the photo booth for Tomb Raider the Ride, I think. Edit: Yeah...what he said.
  17. Drove by the factory today. There are two truckloads ready for shipment. One with supports and one with track pieces. Sorry...no photographs. Maybe they will ship out this week.
  18. That's funny...for about 30 seconds...LOL
  19. Making the event somewhat cost prohibitive by making it a pay as, you go event could eliminate some of the " white trash" behavior. Adding more visably noticable security inside and outside the houses would have an impact on rowdy behavior.
  20. If you were promised a more intense Halloween Haunt by making it a pay as you go event...would you be willing to give up the Gold Pass Halloween Haunt visit perk?
  21. Of all the shows I've seen at the haunt so far, Graveyard Shift seems to be the weakest show. We got a pizza deal and decided to watch the show, but usually, haunt shows try to theme the music to the theme of Halloween in some way....for instance you could have some of the women dancing with Halloween candy bags singing Mandy Moore's - Candy...but the songs they were singing were so random and not themed or related to monsters or a party. It was almost like who ever designed the show just looked at a catalog and randomly picked songs.
  22. At Universals Halloween Horror Nights, they close the park and empty the park prior to the Horror Night to clear out the families, and it is a separately paid event (which by the way is outrageously priced now at about $100 per one night visit and for an additional fee you can Express, counts me out!) for each participant no matter what age and there are security personnel throughout each zone, house and just about everywhere, just to keep the peace. The fact that the houses and zones are way more intense than at our haunt and cost is high, pretty much weeds out the families with children. We actually saw security pop out of no where and chase down some teens who had fake Id's and were trying to buy beer...they were caught and detained on the spot.
