  1. The beer will only be consumed in a biergarten-type area or, if held on the grounds of an in-park restaurant, the beer may not leave the patio.
  2. FWIW Disney recently said that the Magicband portion of MMP will not be migrating across the country (DL guests tend to be day trippers or, at best 1-2 nighters), but they did indicate that at least the FP+ component will be integrated into the parks. In my mind, parks like KI/CF/SF have no incentive to eliminate all lines, so long as guests are willing to pay for expedited access to the rides. If everyone could basically walk on a ride with little to no wait (via a reservation system or whatever), the per caps would go down, since there would be less of an incentive to buy food/drinks/souvenirs since the stay will necessarily be shorter. The question to me is at what price point will guests no longer consider expedited access to be worth it. I'd be curious to know what level of Flash/Fast Lane pass Six Flags/KI guests tend to buy most often.
  3. The schedule is subject to change without notice.
  4. In years past, the park has posted on here and social media if SC is closed due to weather. On a day like today (50s, clouds/sprinkles), I can't imagine the waterpark would be open. Disney routinely closes whichever of its waterparks isn't getting off season rehab on chilly days in Jan-Feb.
  5. A better reason for taking no action is the cost involved to chase down what amounts to $125 or so. A collection agency routinely gets 10-20% of every successful collection it makes and I"m certain Cedar Fair doesn't want to pay lawyers to attend small claims court chasing after people for such low amounts.
  6. For those wondering what the proposed Meijer will look like, see the relatively new Meijer in the "Center of Cincinnati" development just off the Norwood lateral. The township may not want a big box store, but if they're the only taker and the tax $ is needed, choices must be made. Think of the cross-marketing potential-spend $20 and get a free ride on the Big Dipper
  7. Perhaps some of the members on here could try to get some of the cast members to attend a meetup in Columbus on a Tues in June (when the show is dark) to see their grown up "cousins" perform in Cirque Du Soleil's Kooza, appearing under Le Grande Chapateu at SPARC (former site of Clippers stadium). The show runs June 3-28.
  8. As the guy who had the entirety of Plankton's Plunge (now Kite-Eating Tree) to himself for two cycles after a storm the year it debuted because I had time to kill after I got off work, I feel your pain. And that ride has the worst load procedure of any ride I've ever seen! I feel for the ride op who has to figure out how to balance weight loads for each cycle. I've grown a beard while waiting for that ride w my kids!
  9. Perhaps KI could do what WDW is doing with the Eo theater in Epcot-utilize it for an extended preview of the upcoming Snoopy movie. The "A" side of the theater hasn't been used in some time. I would imagine everything is still there from when the dinos movie last ran.
  10. Go to Guest Services just inside the front gate and they will apply the cost towards a two day ticket.
  11. Vortex was repainted a couple of seasons ago, though with the paint faded as badly as it is, one wonders if the park purchased an off-brand paint! A far as the fountaisn, I recall Ouimet saying that all parks would receive the fountain upgrade that Canada got last year. Paramount did upgrade the fountains to their current state when they owned the park.
  12. Given the throughput of the ride, I'm sure the park figured the number of extra guests the ride would be handling from 9:30-10 and decided the ride could easily handle it. As far as enforcing it, perhaps it's as simple as putting on a special paper wristband given by the admissions employee when scanning your Kroger-purchased KI card. In reality, I've been to the park on a both slow and busy days for ERT and, just sticking to Banshee, have only gotten in 2-3 rides before the park opens in each instance.
  13. If it makes you feel better, you are able to designate the day on which the monthly payments are withdrawn.
  14. I noticed an ad for KI on an electronic billboard yesterday here in Indy offering the usual Kroger discount tickets, but with a twist-those buying Kroger tickets will be offered ERT at least on Banshee. Interesting, to say the least.
  15. More hubris from today's IndyStar-a full page color ad splashed across the back page of the front section of the paper. The opening paragraph mentions that KK Is the "fastest growing park in the U.S." and has "risen to international prominence". Talk about an inflated sense of self worth.
  16. "I can't believe the park has the nerve to let this ride go to pot! Who do they think they are? They have some nerve!"- Said Tomb Raider/The Crypt.
  17. To further muddy the waters, the print coupon in the IndyStar does not require proof of Indiana residency. Plus, today's paper featured a bigger color ad (1/4 page) than yesterday's did. So, if you get your coupon off the website, you must show an Indiana drivers license; if you use the print coupon, the sky's the limit. Oh, and the free second day must be used the day after the paid day. This is turning into the Krusty the Clown show.
  18. FWIW the $29.99 buy 1 get 2 promo is now appearing here in Indy in various forms-print, tv station web sites, etc. The print ad is a color ad allowing 6 people per coupon to take advantage of the deal. It also features a ride they call Up Up and Away which they say is new for 2015. It looks like a cross between WindSeeker and the old Flight Commander.
  19. If you ask and are denied, you will be given the reason why, with the citation to the law given, if you so chose to run it up the flagpole. Here in Indiana, there is a watchdog agency called the Public Access Counselor which hears all cases involving denial of the Open Door/Public Access to Records laws. His opinions are published and are considered persuasive in Indiana courts.

  21. He takes safety so seriously that he's going to have each ride inspected every week, you betcha. Maybe he should send a scout team up the road a bit to see KI inspecting their rides daily!
  22. To my knowledge, the Dipper is still owned by the same anonymous person who it was originally sold to. Various activists/enthusiasts have tried to buy the coaster over the last several years, to no avail. Change is not imminent with regards to the coaster. You'd need to find a good business willing to operate next to a seasonal waterpark, or find a way to bifurcate the land such that if the former dry side were rezoned to some sort of residential, residents wouldn't be bothered by the waterpark.
  23. If you ever have to go there, I can say firsthand that my experience has exceeded my expectations. After I explained my issue, the staff bent over backwards to accommodate me. Mr. Ouimet definitely has brought the same level of guest service expectations with him from Disney to CF.
  24. Anyway, Universal's making it harder and harder to ignore them. I really wanted to go there last year when I was at WDW but my parents didn't want to. Steve Buscemi's Jan is better As for Avatar, Cirque Du Soleil is in the midst of creating a new show based on Avatar to tour next year (Cincy is a stop). I know Disney has been wanting to replace La Nouba with a new Cirque show, so perhaps it will land at Disney Springs upon completion of its tour.
  25. People thought Avatar at AK was irrelevant?? Nintendo hasn't done anything of note in 20 years! At least when Disney announced Avatar, it also released a ton of concept art. All this announcement says is that Nintendo will be involved in future projects. Harry Potter-overwhelmingly yes! This-not so much.
