  1. Always loved KI's fudge ( better than CP's and they have great fudge) but, my word, in the past few years, it seems like I have had to mortgage my home to pay for it-the price has nearly tripled in the past few years. However compared to the current price of a 1/4 lb piece of fudge $5 seems less pricy for this new treat. Cannot really tell how big the portion is unless I see it in person. At any rate looks plum tasty.
  2. Do you know the name of the woman in the photo?
  3. So, if I am not mistaken, food discounts everywhere at KI except Panda Express and Chick Fila. Interestingly, you do get a discount at Starbucks.
  4. And only his second post-will wonders never cease. Maybe he's the anti Terpie and going for the record of the least posts on KIC.
  5. Vortex was the first coaster with inversions on which I opened my eyes. Before that had just ridden two coasters with inversions on which I closed my eyes: Screamin Demon and Corkscrew. ( Cedar Point.)
  6. Screamin Demon when it first opened in 1977-I closed my eyes.
  7. Forgot my manners again-welcome to KIC Sobrien.
  8. And it seems some of the worst offenders of the no touching rule are young children. I wonder of their parents taught them to stay away from strangers.
  9. Weekdays in May tend to be slow with kids still in school. However during the peak season especially in July and August you will see busy days during the week.
  10. Reds Hall of Fame Grille is part of the discount as I did get my 10 percent discount there.
  11. ^No, I don't think people have become too sensitive, just cautious. As we discussed on previous threads confrontation is risky, possibly downright dangerous-for example what if the other person has a weapon? The best approach is always to let the police or security handle such situations.
  12. PS how rude of me-a great big welcome to KIC.
  13. You get 10 percent off on all food items ( except, I think, Chick Fil A). I think you get the discount on other merchandise but I would check with the park on that. There is early entry a half hour early for Banshee and Bat and other select rides. Also, this past Friday night, there was ERT on Banshee and Bat from 10:30-Midnight-I think KI may be trying to adopt CP's periodic night ERT policy-I certainly hope so as it was a lot of fun.
  14. Next to line jumping, the most irritating act is not respecting your personal space in line. For example there was a couple behind me in the Banshee line today who could not keep their hands off each other and the girl kept backing into me as she was smooching with her sweetie.-even though it was not a bump but a touch I certainly do not like to be touched by strangers. Also, for me, proper line etiquette also includes keeping a reasonable distance from the group or person in front of you so as not to invade their space. Would be interested in hearing your thoughts on this issue.
  15. Plan to drop by this afternoon. Was at the park yesterday and not crowded at all. Ironically the Banshee line during regular operating hours was practially a walk on while the line was a lot longer during the night ERT for passholders. ( Still had a great time during the night ERT-keep them coming.)
  16. Holiday weekends are not as crowded as you think at both KI and CP. I find that most people prefer to do other stuff such as picnics, parades, or ballgames.
  17. Even more shocking than the price of bacon is that for about half of what it costs now for a pack of cigarettes in those days you could buy a whole carton. Anyway I understand that the big shots at Coney played some not so nice hardball to stop Fess Parker's proposed project.
  18. I absolutely have no problem with making exceptions for people with conditions like Diabetes. I have several friends who are Diabetic and, while I understand that the condition can be controlled, I understand that unexpected things can happen. When that happens, I have no problem with the person leaving the line to take care of their medical needs and then returning to the line. ( I remind you all that I am still standing by the current rules of the park as is my responsibility as a KIC member-I am just saying that I would give my blessing to any change in such existing rules to accomodate those with health issues.)
  19. I think we are all in agreement that line jumping is strictly forbidden. The issue of this discussion really is how we react to people who line jump and I think this makes a very interesting discussion. And I think, all and all, this has been a very civil discussion.
  20. Probably my dad's fav attraction at KI.
  21. This thread sure makes me hungry.
  22. This is the type of line cutting, Jdawg, that makes me the maddest. To me this is the most blatent, thoughtless, arrogant and inconsiderate conduct toward others. The message to those following the rules is " I am better than you, I am too good to follow the rules." Is it fair that after I wait in line for over an hour that a bunch of kids cut in front of me to join their group and have to wait in line just 10 minutes? Like I said I am not going to let a situation such as this ruin my day-it is what it is if the cutters are not caught. However, as members of KI Central I feel that we still have a responsiblity not to condone park rule violations whether it be line cutting or cel phones on rides.
  23. Since Cedar Fair took over, daily operations at KI seem to parallel the start of daily operations at CP. ( CP has always started daily operations right away while KI would not start daily operations until after Memorial Day weekend.) I think KI has probably discovered what a treasure trove the month of May is with school trips and math/science days. ( Wish we had had trips to KI when I was in school.)
  24. Am having too much fun with Banshee to even think about coasters in the future.
  25. Just speaking for myself not sure if the meal plan would be a good deal for myself. For example, if you want pizza you get 2 slices and a drink. What if you are still hungry? ( As I usually am.) Also I really enjoy the Hall of Fame Grille a lot and that is not part of the plan if I am not mistaken. I am not saying that it is a bad idea-it probably would work well for a lot of families, just don't think it would work for me. I will keep an open mind though.
