  1. Actually I should give you all a hint-think about both current and defunct rides.
  2. Wrong on both counts-read the question very carefully. I'll give you all 24 hours to come up with the correct answer.
  3. Let's see if any of you can answer this. What is the oldest ride to ever operate at KI?
  4. Not another Son of Beast topic-can't we just let sleeping dogs lay? Just saying.
  5. Mr. Six dance party on the Grandstand and Looney Tunes, what else?
  6. The lovely Mary Ann Mobley, a former Miss America. Her husband was Gary Collins who just died recently. ( I think they were separated when he died although they were married for years.)
  7. I like things just the way they are.
  8. Just an interesting tidbit which I am sure Terpie and, of course, KIC's Bavarian Beetle know: Bavarian Beetle under the ride name Galaxi replaced The Wild Mouse at old Coney Island.
  9. This topic seems rather deja vu. At any rate I am from the old school who experienced the original Racer with both sides going forward and has welcomed with open arms the back to basics of running both sides forward again-it just seems that this brings the ride back to the original concept of both trains racing each other. While the backwards racer was a nice novelty, it was a novelty that wore off quickly for me.
  10. Before Cedar Fair took over you would never hear pre-ride schtick at ki. The ultimate schtick crew to me has always been the Raptor crew-always loved their wild and craziness-I get the impression that the Raptor crew has had the greatest influence on the spiels that you hear today at both KI and CP.
  11. I personally rather enjoy the pre-ride schtick as long as it is not overdone. I think a lot of people have the mistaken notion that being a ride op is a glamorous job-no, I have never been I ride op but I can certainly see first hand what a hard job that they have. They are under a lot of pressure to keep the line moving on busy days while at the same time having to concentrate fully on safety. ( Not to mention having to deal with sometimes abusive customers all while keeping calm.) That being said, I just would like to take a moment to say thank you to the ride attendants at both KI and CP who have waited on me over the many years that I have been going to those parks. Their hard work and dedication have made me a very happy customer.
  12. Loved the cool pics-took my first trip to Indiana Beach last month and was utterly charmed. Look forward to a return trip.
  13. Enjoyed spending time with you Brad-a very pleasant day.
  14. Have sent my RSVP. Just wanted to give a great big thank you to Don and Ryan for organizing this event. I am sure that they went to a lot of trouble and I think we should all show our appreciation.
  15. Actually Labor Day weekend Saturdays usually are not that busy.
  16. Just checked the web site and it looks like Season Passes will be going on sale Labor Day Weekend.
  17. The park will announce when season passes will go on sale-just watch out for news on the web site.
  18. Haven't seen you in ages KI Man-hope to see you at the KI Central event on 9/8.
  19. Invertigo does 5 g's which is pretty intense-I won't ride it any more because I have come pretty close several times to fainting on that ride.
  20. In my many years of going to KI, have had just one protein spills and that was on Winnie Witch's Cauldren's in the old Hanna Barbera Land. Yes, I had a protein spill in kiddie land!( lol.) However, that ride spun pretty fast for a kiddie ride and, as a result, my orange drink came up. I was with my friend Brad and we were just 12 years old-recently we reminisced about that incident and had a good laugh.
  21. I think the new hotel is a great idea and, even though it will probably cost a mint to stay there, I like the convenience of being able to stay on site-while I loved Dollywood, I hated the bumper to bumper traffic in Pidgeon Forge.
  22. Just like any age, I am sure that there are many adolescents who love coasters and many adolescents who get sick as a dog riding coasters.
  23. If a person says no to riding, I believe that no means no. To me it is unacceptable to try to bribe them into riding-we have got to stop this notion that everyone can be "converted" into loving coasters-if someone doesn't want to ride, why don't we simply accept and respect their feelings?
