  1. Sandusky is in trouble money wise. They tried more then once to put new taxes on Cedar Point. The red light cameras are a way for Sandusky to make money.
  2. If Flight Deck is very thrilling, then what does that make The Cavs? Lol.
  3. Kings Island should of got Big Bad Wolf. Name would of went nice with Great Wolf Lodge.
  4. They can call it Son Of A Bleep if they like. Lol.
  5. 9 such incidents. No, even one is not acceptable, but this season there have been 9 such incidents. Literally tens of thousands of cars parked in that lot each operating day. The park has incredible levels of security. And the press watches every little thing in the New York City media market. I submit other parks have had similar levels of activity in their parking lots, it just doesn't make the media like this did. One reason this did is because the victim went to Craig's list and made a really big deal about these losses. Have you been to Great Adventure? You will find far more visible security, and far more of it, than in most parks in America. I actually feel safer there than many, if not most, places. Similar parking lot thefts take place in major parking lots throughout America on a daily basis. Meanwhile, Great Adventure ejects people for smoking, for line jumping, for counterfeiting (that happened this week), and I see far less misconduct there than in most parks, including one that this site is about. Security is empowered to keep the peace there, and they do an astounding job. The Great Northeast, for better or worse, is not the Midwest. You can't go visit The Coney Island Cyclone, for example, and act as in you are in Mason, Ohio. You are not. Heck, these days, even Mason, Ohio is not the place it once was. By the way, the front gate security (and parking lot security) at Great Adventure is at the same or higher levels both manpower wise and in detecting items coming into the park as it was three and five years ago. I know of at least one major park where that cannot be said. I'm not a big fan of Six Flags and never will be. And how they maintain most of the rides scare me. When i went to SFWOA before Cedar Fair bought it, i was shocked at how rude most of the workers were and how dirty the park was. Most of the workers looked like they was mad at you. Lol. When Cedar Fair took over, Geauga Lake was more better. Cleaner park, nice workers and the rides were safer. It's not worth the gas and money for me to go to SFGA.
  6. Doesn't SFGA know how to beef up guards since they said this happens this time of year all the time? Common sense people. Lol.
  7. Are you joking? Kings Island and Canada's Wonderland (the two you specifically mentioned) both got $22,000,000+ steel coasters in the last two years... I know this. I wasn't born yeasterday. Read my posts all the way please. You will see that i'm trying to prove a point to a poster who said that 1 park is getting treated better then the other.
  8. How many of the parks including Canada's Wonderland have gotten a new coaster in the last 5 years? Kings Island had not gotten a new coaster since Stunt Track. (Firehawk don't count as new). And Cedar Fair has 14 parks if you include the 2 water parks not next to Knotts in California. Are you forgetting the 22 million dollar coaster we got last year? Edit: Firehawk does count it was a 10 million dollar relocation. No i'm not forgetting Diamondback. I was proving a point to a poster who said that 1 park is getting treated better then the other. If one park was being treated better, then all the others would not of gotten new coasters.
  10. Because Dick Kinzel knows more about the park then anyone on his staff.
  11. Methinks he hasn't seen the "Nostalgia" bit yet. Remember when it was said that nothing could beat out Dragster? Well, Six Flags did it and has had nothing but trouble since.
  12. From an electrician standpoint, it maybe wise for Kings Island to cut down on power. Maybe only run certin rides every day. And maybe only do 1 to 2 shows per named show a day till it becomes more cooler. With Spirit Song coming up tomorrow, and with the power the lights and everything else uses, the brown outs may get worse. I know most places in Columbus including hospitals are asked to cut down on power some how to keep brown outs and black outs from happening. That's just my ideas though. I know KI's Facebook page has alot of people thinking they knew what was going on or saying what happened. Lol.
  13. The only waterpark that needs an update is Soak City. Lol.
  14. You can't plan a roll back on Top Thrill Dragster. It either happens many times a day, or it doesn't happen at all. Most people who never ridden Dragster ask if it has never made it to the top.
  15. I've heard a few people call Kings Island Six Flags Kings Island. And that a girl got her foot cut off on Drop Superman Tower. I had to say something to them. Lol.
  16. Cedar Fair to me is the cheapest on food and other stuff then Disney is. They make Cedar Fair look cheap. Lol.
  17. Who rents the park on the Sun. after the park opens? I was wondering because the park is closed on that Sunday after they open the park for the season that Sat. every year. This year the park is open Sat, April 17th and is closed Sun. April 18th.
  18. Anyone hear on the news that Coney Island has flood damage? This was from the Ohio River flooding over. I just heard about it on the 5 am news.
  19. I live about 80 something miles from KI. I can get to the park in a hour and 10 mins depending on the cops and if i stop for food.
  20. I once said that i more then likely would never see any members of the Brady Bunch in person. In 2008, i seen Bobby, Greg and Cindy at Kings Island. Lol.
  21. Would you really reopen SOB after all that has happened with it? Cedar Fair tried just about everything but take it down and rebuild the thing. Its not cheap to do what they had to do with it since 2006. You had the retracking, taking out the loop, plus they redid the part of the ride at the spot of the accident, the new cars, the accident payouts. SOB needs to be taken down or be SBNO for life. Cedar Fair sees the dangers of SOB. I havent rode SOB since 2005 when the ride got so rough that it hurt my back. Btw, i didnt sue. Lol. Building the tallest and fastest woodie as you can see and tell, didnt pan out all that well that most would of hoped. I just think that for the sake of the park goers, Kings Island and for Cedar Fair as a whole, that Kings Island never open SOB again. SOB's next accident if it opens again could be far worse. Maybe killing 1 or more people. If that happens, then the park could suffer big time. The ride is worthless. Now, its just a big wooden darn near 20 million dollar paperweight. People can prove me wrong if they like. But to me, its just a nightmare to ride.
  22. 100 mph winds would tear the roof off of just about anything. We had 85 mph winds here a few years ago, and it blew over a semi trailer full of paper. It shouldnt of took 3 years to fully settle the case after the jury awarded though.
  23. My back dr. told me not to ride SOB again. Lol.
