Not even sure what "rude guests" means. Obviously there were a couple fighting incidents but those were on pretty crowded days and certainly aren't *that* common. Most guests at any park just keep to themselves, which can come off as rude, but its just how modern society works.

Cedar Point 2021 Discussion
DoomPlague replied to coaster sally's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
That seems like a pretty far walk at a park that already has a lot of walking (1 mile from the front gate to SV). Is there much reason not to park further up in the overflow area on the left closer to the gate? Also, do they let you park near Famous Dave's and the Valravn gate? (though I guess that's not open early) -
I'll be (hopefully) riding SteVe in a couple days for the first time and if it lives up the hype, it would certainly go on here. The video that OP is referring to, from Airtime Thrills, is really looking at standout coasters by todays standards, so in that vein my picks are: -Diamondback -Millennium Force -Mystic Timbers -Orion Was never a huge fan of Maverick but I've only ridden it a few times so maybe I'll change my mind. TTD is great fun but its not complete enough of a ride. And I won't say much about Magnum except that it just doesn't make my list. If we could include specific scenarios, then a night ride or a rain ride on The Beast would be on there.

My thoughts: 1. Paint The Racer its original scheme as many have mentioned. This one seems the most realistic. 2. Get our Eagle Flyers back from Carowinds without telling them 3. Backwards Racer. It may not have started backwards, but it ran that way for a long time. 4. A dark boat ride. The best dark rides are boats, imo. Phantom Theater would be cool to see back but that isn't happening. 5. Rename Woodstock Express back to The Beastie...but again it didn't start out that way so they probably won't. 6. Retheme Action Zone to match The Bat/Banshee (maybe a haunted, Victorian theme) 7. Do something fancy with the façade on the park entrance (keep the building/tunnel...just make it look nice above that). 8. Hire Peter Brady to do a one-man show.

Forgive my intrusion but honestly if a "standout" means a ride in the top 5 or top 10 of all coasters, like your Voyages and SteVes, then not only is that too high of an expectation but it absolutely excludes The Beast. I love The Beast and defend it all the time but both the GP and enthusiasts have moved on. That's not to say it has low ridership, it definitely does not but I've never heard anyone younger than 40 say its their favorite in the park (I'm in my 40s. I'm just acknowledging that younger people have a less biased perspective) As for Orion, it's big and fun and would be a standout almost anywhere. I might like it more than Millie. However its still a lot like Diamondback which I think is a better ride and there are certainly things I would rather they have spent the money on. But I'll gladly ride it when I can and the GP seems to like it.

Ah, thanks. I probably should have checked it out yesterday but was too focused on other things. I do want to check out Chef's plate.

Decided to get the dining plan yesterday for the first after spending a lifetime trying to be as cheap as possible. It's rather late in the season...so hopefully I'll be going to the park enough to justify it. Ended up getting the smoked ribs from Coney BBQ and the fries. I was very please with both. Now suddenly I want to go to the park as much for food as for rides. In that Grand Carnvale post, it doesn't mention locations or the dining plan. Did anyone get to check it out? Also, is that a handwich I see in the picture?

Should Haunt be more "Family Friendly?"
DoomPlague replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Kings Island
I remember the Heckle and Howl thing. It seemed like they repurposed the little house used by the Scrooge puppet at Winterfest for many years (I haven't been to recent Winterfests). But the guy wasn't terribly witty and just resorted to crass jokes. It was more funny to see how many people walked away after a particularly bad joke. The current system seems fine but I do think some younger kids who are tall enough for coasters might enjoy all the night rides they can get during Haunt without dealing with the scary stuff. Also, is CP really dead on Fridays during Halloweekends? Didn't they just announce that they'll be open all day Fridays and adding Thursday evenings? -
Another Six Flags issue

The single brand definitely seems to be more harmful than helpful. Also, I didn't know that water park used to be a Kings Entertainment theme park (apparently very shortly). -
We talk a lot about misinformation on the internet, which is certainly a serious thing, so much that we forget how much misinformation went around before the internet was everywhere. A few weeks ago I brought up the "black sunday" water incident with family and a family member went: "You mean the homosexuals" (my family is pretty homophobic). That was the story that went around after the incident: that a couple of guys there for "gay day" were playing around where they shouldn't have been. Of course it was far from reality. And of course some people swear that they "know" that people died on The Bat or The Beast or Son of Beast, etc etc.

Sorry to hear this. He had a huge impact, Gravity Group obviously traces its roots back to Dinn and The Beast as does GCI. Even RMC owes him to some extent considering that both their first coaster and best coaster were built on top of Dinn rides.

I'm with those that say there shouldn't be anything with lyrics. Instrumentals only. Rivertown should have old-timey music (banjos and such) without the modern country take. Coney Mall should have maybe carnival music and/or Americana (like JP Sousa). Action Zone should just be rethemed to go along with The Bat/Banshee themes. I do actually like the music at the entrance/intl street. I enjoyed hearing Muse and meme songs like Whats Up in orchestral form. Granted, I would prefer original music but that might be asking too much. Also: hello. I'm sort of new (apparently I posted once in 2007?). I'm catching up with KI and the industry after too much time away.

Heh, I think I saw you. In fact, I think I got on right after you in that seat. Then again, you may not be the only person who got a solo ride that day. And yes, I registered just to say that. I honestly got on these forums to see if there's any news on Firehawk since it was closed Wed. and I was thinking of going Friday.
