  1. Didn't The Racer used to have tunnels too? On the turn on the side of the hill, where the tracks split?
  2. Oh well, a mutual friend doesn't ride it because he claimed that the bolts were coming off. I asked him how he knew, and he said at the peak of the swing it was jumping. [perhaps I should post this in guests say the darnedest things] But I just came on here to see if anyone knew the real reason why it does this. I still think it's safe even with this bouncing.
  3. Very true, Jasper. Although I'm not too sure about liberty launch being sub par to power tower. I rode the "shot" for power tower to compare to HW's and I found power tower to be very tame. The most joy I found in it was the cool breeze, and how quickly we got up, and how high. Seems like there's more things I like in power tower, but the intensity of liberty launch just makes liberty take a higher pedestal to power tower. But that's just my opinion. P.S. Is anyone else suddenly amused so much easier when you sit in a flat ride as opposed to a coaster? I kinda found that odd, when I first noticed myself doing this.
  4. Oh, well I didn't figure it was an issue... nothing dangerous, that is. But I just figured that maybe the bumping wasn't intended. And your quotes around feature didn't make me think otherwise; just made me think I shouldn't worry. (I don't btw, I trust KI would close a ride when needed)
  5. If that's not a joke, then my condolences; but is it from the wheels/ rubber belt (or whatever is used to grip the ring) slipping?
  6. Just as a general, straight-to-the-point question: Why does the rotation on Delirium's ring always bounce and skip when it reaches the top of it's swing?
  7. Why do you say that? First time using a special emoticon.
  8. Most brilliant application ever. ^^ Bookmarked
  9. I'm new to this topic, but when someone said they're clearing land behind SOB I couldn't help but think about a giga, or a giga with a bigger drop than the height! But I'd want one more like Millennium force, for the trains, I don't care if they do an intimidator305 layout though. (I just don't like the torso bars.) But then I kept reading that this supposed work is non-existent.
  10. Same here, I was there last saturday and sunday, but the line was only 10 minutes at the most... And I found Mantis quite fun, it feels more aggressive than Chang. Which is odd, but then again the trims were off And I don't see what's so horrible about a stand up, windshawne, could you explain? Was it tiring on your legs? I would love a stand-up; does B&M still hold the rights to stand ups? Because last I heard intamin's not allowed to make one... and B&M's not making fair use of their "rights"
  11. You mentioned parking taking forever, I wish they would use parking directors like HW and CP do. That would make everything so much easier and faster. And CF being such a big company interested in making money, I doubt they'd actually make free drinks... at least they got free water. And if you're they guy saying their water is lame. If it's clean, I'll drink it; and did you ever have to drink water from the sink? From a pump? You might've had the sink once or twice, but it's better than the sink water, definitely the pump.
  12. Yeah, perhaps the original topic has been abandoned.
  13. Well 07 (not a new coaster but still new to us ) brought Firehawk - check 08 added shows, and renovations etc. (I consider it a small installment equal to the scooby doo upgrade) - check 09 Diamonback - check 10 Snoopy starlight spectacular (Equal to scooby again just IMHO, of course) - check 11 Wind Seeker - check (only $5 million dollars, so maybe something big, in terms of a coaster, is coming next year or by 2013. Most likely having to do with the removal/ renewal of SOB) I still think they should get a woodie by a modern company that doesn't require a lot of maintenance for their coaster to run well, and I stress well... I hate painful woodies. Either that or an Intamin. I think in the next few years years we should just get a bunch of intamin's and a B&M or two. Maybe a launched one like maverick, a giga, and then a ride from B&M I'd prefer an inverted one... but a sit down or a floorless twister would suffice.
  14. Oh, yeah. I don't doubt that your experience was fake. But all the staff members were screaming "whoo" as she announced that his birthday was one day away.
  15. What the heck are they going to with their glasses. They really should have an attendant next to the garbage to get people that aren't clever enough to put it in a concealed pocket.
  16. I don't know specifically, I just know I was under 9. I finally was 48" and I knew I could ride a bunch of rides... that first day we stayed the whole day though. And I do remember I rode these, but not in any particular order: Vortex Adventure Express maybe... (I feel like the height requirement was boosted up later like 48) [at the time I was 48" Racer didn't have the 4ft req.] and SOB at night! The lights on the loop were so cool. ( I wish KI had lights on Vortex's loops.) We did go in line for The Beast, but it broke. And I got to ride it a week later, in the day and night. I only remember SOB being at night because it was back when the park would be open from 10 to midnight regularly. And I saw fireworks going as I was exiting.
  17. Don't worry man, we're all wanting that from the crypt, last night I was actually thinking if it were possible for them to replace parts in a different way so that the ride doesn't tear itself apart anymore... and it could have a cycle that's closer to the original. Or better than the original But I highly doubt that's possible. I don't think you can make gears and motors assembled in a new way once the ride is built. I guess all we can really hope for is for the ride to at least do something that The ferris wheel hasn't already been doing for many years. Maybe actually flip the rows, unlike now where they just lock it. I don't know though... I just kinda figure people don't mention it as much since ranting about it after all this time with no change, doesn't really help.
  18. He's saying that's what guests ask him... I'm assuming he works at a ride around that area.. or sweeps near it.
  19. That's priceless, I went to Cedar Point and I watched the last show ever for their extreme sports show. Just luck I guess, but at the end they told us to wish one of the members a happy 1-day early birthday. And I was skeptical as to do so, as I wasn't sure if it really was. But I said whoo like everyone else regardless... don't want to be rude do you?
  20. I don't get why people love The Beast so much, I'm talking about how fun it really is. Besides the part up until "The Bridge" and the double helix at the end... I think this ride is really lame. Just my opinion. (sorry if your reading this as if I'm angry, I'm not) I personally went with The Racer. Probably would've said Flight of Fear if it didn't stop in the middle. EDIT: By the way, I didn't realize how big my avatar was, XD That's embarassing. Haha Well, I wanted it to be easier to find my posts, and I guess I got my wish.
  21. I'm like the only one in my family that loves Flight Deck. They all think it's lame and too short... I agree it's too short, but that doesn't make a ride bad. i.e. Top Thrill Dragster, they all loved that ride, but wait... that ride is short too. Anyways, back when I was 7 or so, on Viking Fury the Ride Ops used to always have marco-polo on the ship, it'd make the ride more fun, and less awkward.
  22. I hope it's still empty Sunday, I'm going to be at my school's football game tomorrow, against the school rival. And oddly enough school hasn't even started yet. lol
  23. ^^ I didn't enjoy Gobbler Getaway personally, guns didn't work even with a 1ft distance, and the music wasn't really my style. But the thanksgiving meal restaurant (don't know the name, but it's right between voyage and gobbler getaway, with tables outside) Is such a great deal, you can get a kids portion and still be filled for only 5 bucks, as apposed to 12 at Kings Island. Remember, fountain drinks are free all day everyday. [i suggest the chicken dumplings, with stuffing, and corn bread muffin] Yes, get there at opening, ride Raven, then Legend, then Voyage. That way lines won't be too terribly long for Raven. (Raven is actually really fun, I'd mark it barely better than any woodie at KI, legend is great in any seat. Ride Voyage in front as it has gotten rougher (especially if you ride the recycled raven train [owch]) Don't miss liberty Launch, and the water coaster is pretty fun, but it's up to you if you want to wait the hour long line. If you actually spend a good hour at the water park (which is all you need for the ones I liked) ride otorongo but the one in the middle, it has some crazy fun airtime... and the zoombabwe ride. Everything else isn't too special, but they are all still fun. Raging Rapids is actually pretty lame. KI's is much better, and I stress much. - Might as well ride Eagles flight since KI doesn't have one, I should've ridden it since I never rode Flying Eagles... And pilgrim's plunge is moderately fun, but it's not really worth a wait more than a generous 15 minutes... the restraints ruin the ride... you don't feel scared at all. I think that's about it, everything else either, isn't extremely fun, or is at KI. Please understand this is just, and only just my opinion of the park based off my trips in 08 and 10.
  24. With that note, you think the Real D glasses would work at KI? Most likely the IMAX ones, since spongebob uses two projectors. Which by the way, annoys the crap out of me when the projectors don't start at the same point... last time I rode the two pictures were off by what I would guesstimate as 1/4 of a second; and whenever something would move... it wouldn't look good, and it just hurt my eyes. I pretty much spent that ride just looking at the surrounding seats and people's bodies getting thrown around.
