New at Holiday World for 2012
calakapepe replied to Colonel_SoB_fan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^^ But that's only if you're interested in Thrill Rides alone. It's a family park just as their slogan states "Number 1 for family fun!" If you're into just sitting, taking the ambiance, riding water rides, getting well-priced food, riding some fun small rides, and SOME thrill rides.... then you won't get bored. -
New at Holiday World for 2012
calakapepe replied to Colonel_SoB_fan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Let the haters hate, let the people enjoy the fantastic park that aren't arrogant. Steel inverting coasters do NOT make a great park. -
I hope so. but what did we get for our 30th anniversary of the park? Tomb Raider right? Yeah, I hope it's something big, although I'm happy with anything new honestly.

Fourth of July weekend last year, I believe definitely warranted the extra queue. I think I remember seeing pictures stretching as far back as where the SOB sign used to be. (that was on the first turn of the entrance queue for SOB)

Once

^^ That is a more accurate word, yes.
-
Is the Oktoberfest sign still there?? I don't remember it.
-
Does anyone wish the rides with soundtracks would have several tracks? I keep hearing that same song in Invertigo lol
-
I, for one, wish we still had our floral tunnel.

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues

Although, They said that Cedar Point isn't done with coasters so.... -
I haven't heard the international-themed music yet this year. But I sure do remember it... ah the memories I think the fog drop with the projected skull in Boo Blasters is a detail they should maintain. I think it's the coolest part of the ride, and it seems to randomly be working and other times not.

Holiday world puts up new signs
calakapepe replied to rotag's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I hope they don't have to resort to chain-link fences! -
I would most definitely hold an opposite opinion. Haha Speaking of which, I love how smooth the retracked portions of The Beast are; the turn out of the second tunnel is so forceful and smooth! But you must just be one of those people that crave aggressive rides then, right?

With Backlot Stunt track in mind... does no one miss the water cannons that used to blast up? Or the "water splash"? I know I miss that a lot. And the fog entering the tunnel. Althought I AM really pleased with the effect used for the bullets. Paramount should've done that when it opened, but I really miss the fire followed up by a sudden attack of water bursting up. -
I like how someone says "Oh geeze..." After the question about Son of Beast haha Oh, and why do some consider Pre-fab intamin coasters to NOT be wooden?? I don't understand.
-
Even with them being as aggressive as they are, they DEFINITELY don't need 5 of them on each side of I street. I've always wondered if I just keep walking straight and just stand still if they step in my way, if one will still take my picture. But it must really suck to have this job, I think I can see a quota being placed on them, that makes the most sense as to why they are the way they are.

Hahahaha, that's golden. ^^and I completely agree with the high capacity notion; Kings Island feels like it is becoming more and more crowded! I honestly think, and I was thinking about this last time I rode FD, they should have pathways go under FD and lead to a new area, Maybe not have anything too complex, but I feel like the walkway right next to FD's unofficial 2nd entrance, is just a great thing to walk by. It just makes the area cool, in a way. And if a new area, or just a new coaster were added that reached towards GWL, then more people would walk passed there. But the realistic truth is that Kings Island has many, many possibilities for new rides and expansions. They probably wouldn't do the FD thing, but I feel like it might add to some life back by FD. And I honestly am a little saddened that DA will receive additions every year. I don't think it's worth the time. My dad and I didn't enjoy it, my little sister was scared of the things and only liked the dig site, and my 11 year old sister was the only one that liked it, but she was still upset that the dinosaurs had timers and that if you were behind people they most likely wouldn't do anything for you. Maybe I'm bashing but, I still really love KI as a whole, that's just my two cents

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues

Yeah, my girlfriend is not getting on that lol I surely will though! Why are the seats made to go forward and backward, it seems like given the right day, someone is going to bust their knee. -
Oh okay, is that why the calendar has closed as a gray square instead of no coloration at all? I don't mind a company buy out, I was just curious.

I'm looking at the webcams, and it seems like there are some general public there out in front of WindSeeker. I saw a family with a stroller earlier too. And I think they may be testing it today or tomorrow. Anyone know who the people are though? and looking at Fox19's sky cam... it seems as though people are all over the park for some reason. I thought Kings Island was closed. And I saw some rides running in the time lapse... I'm very confused, and eager to go down there. lol

Town that Disney Built has first Killing
calakapepe replied to Delirium13's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Never even heard of this town, but from the description, it seemed like a great place to live prior to the murder. I hope they catch this guy, I hate the fact that someone can kill another unsuspecting human being, and not get anything their way. -
Major changes for I305?
calakapepe replied to DaveStroem's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^ Well that's good I guess, I figured they'd be making the first turn a bit wider, or at least make it gradually go up so it loses speed, then a shorter air hill after that so the rest of the ride doesn't suffer too badly. Intamin screwed up on Pilgrim's Plunge as well. I was pretty disappointed with my experience on it. Sure you get wet, but- nevermind, I guess I was just expecting too much.
