Tomb Raider, Son of Beast (loop days), Backwards racer, I wish I could've ridden King Cobra (didn't reach the height req. in time) I actually miss the helicopter tours, I never did it, but I thought it was really cool that you could do that if you wanted to! (fun to watch take off/ land too) I miss the action theater having two shows, and the naming of beastie.

I think that was the point of his post. ^^ That B&M allegedly said they'd never build a ride over 300', and then came along Leviathan.
-
Oh wow. construction of FOF.. or Outer Limits
-
I wouldn't pay to ride it again unless there was the loop.
-
And to people hoping SOB threads will end. Don't expect that until a ride is announced to replace it/ new area is released with plans. Otherwise there'll always be the idea of something "needing" to take the place of SOB
-
and was it more exciting?? ^^^ Anyways, I've found that the ride barely gets every seat to be at the "upside down" part with its rotation. So no matter what, you're ride is still somewhat similar aside from facing the ground as you shoot up. (favorite part)

Well.. I'm not sure what year they were added but you were alive when they had different styled brakes. http://rcdb.com/67.htm?p=137 These are what used to be there which I'm not sure if they were magnets or if they just brushed the train. Now they have more noticeable and abrupt braking. especially on the crest before the second drop and the "bridge" portion (look on youtube for a 2012 POV to see it quickly, can't post it here)

Should Kings Island Change Their 2013 Season Pass Prices?
calakapepe replied to Joncars05's topic in KI Polls
Maybe I'm a little biased, but I honestly can't believe there are so many people willing to pay more money just to hopefully salvage a park atmosphere they used to know, and that teenage kids are being blamed. I find it, quite frankly, immature to generalize that all the young teens are being a nuisance. Yes, there are more likely to be kids to misbehave/ annoy than adults, but to hate on an entire group? Raising prices, isn't going to get the park environment that you long for. If you are still able to get passes, as adults, so are the teens.. they aren't actually paying for a pass themselves. Even so, raising prices would lessen the attendance as a whole, which includes some of the desirable crowds too. Society is changing. -
Okay thanks, then I'll need to get something to remedy it. They don't always stop you if you have metal, but it'd be nice for it to never happen

I would rather just take my chances leaving my stuff in the field than paying for the lockers.. which by the way, needs more attention IMO. The hay is gone now and so are the seeds from what I can tell. I miss the grass to walk in/ lay out/ or leave things in. I'll just be patient with nature. But all in all.. I'm not real happy with the new stuff aside from the new pool. It's only problem is the horizontal pushing and the over bombardment of tubes. I've had so many times people bump into me without even realizing it. I wish the water wasn't warm like it is, but I went to the water park on a cold-ish day once, so it's not ALWAYS a bad thing I'm kinda disappointed in the "action" aspect of the river, it's not enough to get excited about, and it's too distracting to relax. But it's okay, I suppose. I wish the path beyond Pineapple Pipeline wasn't closed off, I'm going to have to use the action river just to get to the other side now. On a side note: Why don't they allow metal bearing swim trunks to be worn on body slides?

Silver Dollar City 2013 Coaster
calakapepe replied to Captain Nemo's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
This still is a wooden coaster, we never pushed away classification of a wooden coaster because there are metal rails that the wheels ride on, so why would we with Topper Track? -
Silver Dollar City 2013 Coaster
calakapepe replied to Captain Nemo's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It's probably a hybrid wooden coaster IMO -
I thought we've concluded that The Vortex isn't actually sinking despite what the footers look like. And I wouldn't believe anything that's being said about DB yet if it's just someone's guess.

Ride pieces and park decor that has been bought by the public
calakapepe replied to ccm79's topic in Kings Island
Beyond SOB in the direction of the first drop there's some stuff, even the old "Nickelodeon Central" sign, which looks like is torn in half... one beyond Firehawk, which I assume is what you found. -
I remember when I first was tall enough to ride Vortex and (at the time) Top Gun... One of the thoughts I had was that I wondered if a suspended swinging coaster could do a loop. And the only thing I thought of as a 7 year old kid, wasn't to just make it really fast so it doesn't swing, but to use the tracks that the cars have after the breaks for underneath the cars. This keeps it from swinging while boarding the train. I guess I figured if you just had a track like that all the way around, it would ensure that the cars wouldn't topple over, not that you'd rely on the track completely.

I always thought Vekoma made "Lay-down coasters" While B&M made "Flying Coaters" Based on the RCT2 naming XD Makes sense though, since you ARE laying down when you exit the station for Firehawk... and you are in a flying position when you exit the station for rides like Tatsu.

"Did you know.. that The Beast has extra turns now??"

Which Roller Coaster at KI has the most unconfortable trains?
calakapepe replied to mccarthysnerd's topic in KI Polls
^^^ You can avoid or lessen the discomfort, you know. -
He must have a contract with Cedar Fair or something because he's performed at Great America and Knotts in recent years. But I just watched some of his acts on youtube and he's entertaining and still a good magician. Uses some suggested perverted humor but still an entertaining show. But I seem to recall there being a magic show at Kings Island before.. during paramount years.. not sure though. hm

^^ people like that aren't probably that old, themselves. They could attain a new method for getting information as they grow.

The color scheme in Action Zone? I don't think it'll be too horribly noticed. Most people probably didn't ever realize that a color scheme was purposely done, and the only rides to actually have the red or blue and yellow scheme in recent years is Delerium, and Invertigo (prior to 2012), and... what? the grill/ open-air eating area, and the restrooms. I think it'll be fine; still blue!

I'm pretty sure that if they wanted a second coat, they would've used that second coat.
