  1. Kinda looks like it might go smack in the middle of the midway, essentially putting a lid on Coney Mall. It's hard to tell, but if this is indeed where it ends up, I have trouble seeing how they'll be able to branch an entrance and exit to Action Zone into there, but we'll have to wait and see.
  2. LOL, no problemo. Thought over the off-season I'd do some self expressing and shameless promoting at the same time.
  3. If you hear a thud, that's my head hitting the desk.
  4. You know, I have NO IDEA how to spell Cincinnati. Every time, I just let Spell Check correct it. I live in Northeast Ohio, and never have any use to spell out Cincinnati haha. When I do, I know there's double letters somewhere... Cincinnati? Cinncinati? Cincinnatti? Cincinatti? The more I look at it, the more it doesn't seem like a word, anyway... One N, Two N's, One T.
  5. Who here just noticed that "Cincinnati" is spelled wrong in the title?
  6. I doubt it, I'm already signed up for the newsletter and all I get is the occasional E-Mail telling you what's new. If it bothers you anyway, you can always "Mark as Spam" and it will be sent automatically to the spam folder and you won't be notified of it.
  7. I really hope it gets a different color scheme. I mean, Woodstock's Express and Flying Ace got new paint schemes, why wouldn't Flight Deck? They're not that cheap..... ....Are they?
  8. Are those 'benches' on the sides of the planters new, or am I deluding myself? Anyhow, nice to see that Coney Mall is finally getting the work it needs. I hope those trees stay.
  9. The status on Son of Beast is the same as it was last March. I vote we all leave the topic alone until there is something to talk about.
  10. I stand corrected, those were just the ones I could think of off the top of my head.
  11. The only Blue and Orange B&M's I can think of are Talon and Behemoth, both ways away. I'm stumped.
  12. I kinda like shade. And trees. And not being in the sun when it's over 100 degrees there.
  13. Thank you! Coney Mall has long been my favorite part of the park, and I have really been wanting to see some well needed pavers and landscaping around the area. I do hope they don't strip it of the beautiful trees permanently though, that's one thing I did not like with the Rivertown overhaul.
  14. Our high school is pretty basic: 90+ is an A, 80-89 is a B, 70-79 is a C, 60-69 is a D, and 59 or lower is an F. C or above is passing, if you finish a class with a D or lower you failed the class.
  15. The Lottery is quite possibly the most morbid and bleak short story I have ever read...... On the actual topic at hand, I loved Kentucky Kingdom and have no problem with higher taxes if it goes towards something worth paying for. Police, Fire Department, Garbage Collection, Schools, etc. Granted, I'm 14 and don't pay taxes yet, but if I did, I would NOT want them going towards an amusement park. Even towards a successful one. One that's failed twice already? No please.
  16. There should be a rule in the TOS that says you can't post stuff you heard from employees. Seriously. They say just about everything and know close to nothing. If the GM of the park won't say for sure what it's fate is, why would they give that information to a seasonal employee who could spill it like that? They wouldn't.
  17. It's pretty clear the picture was taken of Flight Deck, no other ride has that type and color (Or lack there of) support. As to what those actually are, it's hard to tell. There's little in that picture to provide a size reference to them, but assuming those supports are the brake/transfer track supports, those look like they'd only be about waist high on a man, but it's difficult to say that with any certainty. Will have to see a better quality picture, or better yet, see it in person tomorrow.
  18. Getting into the park, you face a wall of scare actors that can be pretty edgy, but after that, it's not too bad if you stay out of the Haunts (I.E. - Urgent Scare, Club Blood, etc.) and avoid the fog.
  19. They'll be democrat or republican if you want them to be, as long as you have the money. Whether they have it or the crowds it attracts have it, in the end that's always what it ends up being about. The tea party and LGBT night is a perfect example of that, why would they hold such truly contradictory events if they really believed in either side? Because both are profitable. Can't you see? It all makes perfect sense....expressed in dollars and sense, pounds shillings and pence.
  20. Several things on my mind about this: 1. Superman going backwards does not a new coaster make. Not even if they actually decide to open up the second side. I didn't enjoy Racer going backwards - and that was about 50 mph. The idea of being launched 100 miles per hour backwards just screams PAIN to me. Will be interesting to see the initial reviews. 2. Never really was a fan of the ZacSpin concept. Having never ridden one I can not provide final judgement, but from looking at it offride, not only does it appear obnoxious (As if a normal coaster was just pancaked) but it also seems to be more of a psychological experience of the extreme hangtime then an actual intense ride experience. Again, will be interesting to see the reviews. 3. At least two Green Lantern coasters in one year....while they're on other sides of the country the general public will be absolutely clueless to it, but still....oh well. Little pet peeve I guess. 4. I agree, I am not a fan of adding low capacity rides in high-market parks. Invertigo, Green Lantern, WindSeeker, all dissapointingly low capacities compared to their people eater brethren like Diamondback, Tatsu and Raptor. 5. I'm interested to see Cedar Point's reaction - technically they're just one coaster behind, one could tie and 2 could put them ahead. If I were Cedar Fair, I would sneak in a kiddie coaster along with my new thrill coaster in 2012, so then they have the upper hand. Then again, this is Cedar Fair we're talking about. Pure speculation here - Mystery Mine is 500 feet longer (Though I doubt that has that much of an effect on the cost), and it also is much more heavily themed. The dynamite explosion, fake mine and authentic looking wooden structure can't come cheap. While I don't know if that accounts for the 14 million dollar difference, that may have something to do with it.
  21. That's not my usual plan, but if Maverick pulls an INTAMIN..... Terp, who is fond of closing day at Maple Grove Where and what is Maple Grove? That sounds like an amusement park in the early 1900's! Maple Grove is dear Terp's nickname for that beloved Amazement Park on the Lake, in the north of Ohio. If you see der Point.
  22. As to the ride itself - Incredible. Absolutely fantastic looking. Knowing how much I loved Maverick ( ) This looks nothing like a tamed-down version at all, like I previously said. I stand happily corrected, it looks like a spectacular improvement! I can't wait to ride this next year! As to the theming and other additions around the ride - Wonderful. I love how, at places like SeaWorld and Busch Gardens, the roller coaster is only half of it. The idea of being able to see a cheetah up close is thrilling in and of itself. And with all of the new interactive exhibits? Can't wait to check it out! As to the name - ......What? Cheetaka was certain, all but confirmed. It rolls off the tongue, it fits so well with the park. And then they pulled a Cheetah Chase? How did they manage to Cedar Fair that? On the whole though, looks like an absolutely fantastic ride. I can't wait to ride it next summer!
  23. Because crowds are low Sundays and the October environment rocks. Not to mention I'd go pretty much any time KI is open.
