  1. If they are tied, then technically, they can not say "Most roller coasters in the world"
  2. its due to global warming As a matter of fact, global warming does cause rapid changes in enviornment that can vary for areas depending on where they are, for some it does actually involve heating up, for others, a cooler climate can be expected. For example, the United States had the coldest winter on record last year, yet this year places like Washington have recorded never before seen heat. Currently, we are in an El Nino pattern, which typically results in cooler, wetter summers for the eastern half of the country. That is also why there has been a shortage of named storms in the Atlantic until recently. Most of the sporadic warming and cooling is caused by the fundemental breakdown of basic weather patterns, such as the Jet Stream and North Atlantic Current, which is caused by the unnatural heating of the atmosphere and disposing of freshwater and oxygen from the planet's ice caps. Done.
  3. Not to mention that Six Flags Magic Mountain is getting a new roller coaster for 2010. That would tie them with Cedar Point for the most roller coasters, taking away their "Most roller coasters in the World" record. Before you say the public doesn't care, uh, Cedar Fair does. We all know how much they love records, especially a record like that for their flagship park, I don't see them not doing anything about it.
  4. So, what does that leave (of more 'major' manufaturers)? Intamin, Premier, Vekoma, Arrow, what else? Arrow is defunct, they were bought by S&S.
  5. Looks like a fantastic ride, maybe not as good as Diamondback but still a wonderful Hyper, as usual. I love how they are going to go into a lot of detail for the ride plaza and pay a lot of respect for the Intimidator himself, that just shows care and attention to detail on Cedar Fair's part, which is unusual. Nice to have at least one ride this summer that wasn't a let down.
  6. Don't look at me, Cedar Fair said it. You know how much they adore records.
  7. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/in-the-loop-tv Here you can watch it live. It's Intimidator, 232 feet tall, over 75 miles per hour, and 5318 (Or something near that) feet long. It's the Tallest, Fastest, Longest coaster in the South. It's a red with grey supported B&M Hypercoaster.
  8. Oh ok. Thanks man! So I have 6 minutes to go about my life.
  9. When today is the ride being announced? I thought it was at 10:30, but I don't see anything happening yet on their site or here.
  10. I will be very saddened if all this hype goes to a water ride. But, Cedar Point said that you will not get wet on this ride. And, that Snake River Falls is not going anywhere for 2010. Why would they build a new water ride virtually right next to another existing one? It looks like perhaps the theory of a water ride is not doing to well right now. Also, it looks as though The Point is going all out for the teasing of the ride. It makes me wonder, when will they set an official date? So far the only hint we have to that is the "Laboring over these 2010 plans is exhausting!", which suggests labor day. But that's not official, and still nearly 2 weeks away. Why would they go on this teasing blitz if the announcement is still that far from now? It really makes me wonder. I have to give props to the point though, they've done a very good job of keeping me interested and excited. They must have some real geniuses in marketig.
  11. Oh, really? Jackson, who wonders where you came up with that figure. Not to mention there are much more Nickelodeon characters then Peanuts, so that figure is biased already.....
  12. This is really making me excited. So it's not going to get you wet, it's not a GCI, and it's name is probably Whyte Lightning. I doubt any of the things they mentioned on Twitter, Facebook, or their Blog are it, and at this point it looks like they're going down the list narrowing the options.
  13. Do you sometimes ever wonder, "Maybe, my lower lip was busted for a reason?" Anyhow, nice Trip Report. Glad to see you had fun, I can't wait till I can do these *cough*cough*.
  14. Having ridden the world's first coaster over 400 feet, 8 times in a row, at 7:00 in the morning, you can imagine not too much thrills me anymore. At Kings Island, Drop Tower still thrills me, because the idea of going over 300 feet in the air to simply be dropped 276 feet straight down, with only a set of magnets to stop me, just doesn't sit well. Nothing else manages to thrill me, even Diamondback has become very mellow and easy going. At any other parks, surprisingly Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Florida is very thrilling to me, and you'd have to ride it to understand. I'll just say this, it's not the ride that scares you, it's the Mummy. Tornado actually thrills me, for one reason only: The Cliff. If you've ridden it, you'd understand how amazing that element is. Top Thrill Dragster does not thrill me too much, because I've ridden it so many times, and it so short that it doesn't really scare me. However, there is one ride that still manages to get my adrenaline pumpin every time I ride it: Millennium Force. When I rode it the first time, I was speechless. Having grown up with Paramount's Kings Island, I had no idea you could even build a ride like that. The speed, the height, the length, the location, everything about it is amazing. From the first look over the 300 foot hill, to the last high speed turn past the queues, it does a fantastic job of thrilling me.
  15. Screamscape this morning: Not getting wet....yay.
  16. But, that sign has been out there subjected to the elements for nine years (Well, I don't know what they do with it during the offseason, but it's still there during the regular season), so why would they want to keep it protected for just the rest of the year, and by turning it to the wall?
  17. I'm counting down until Kings Island announces Planet Snoopy. And when they do, I will for sure do a happy dance.
  18. They will not go above 300 feet though, because if I am correct B&M was once asked to build Millennium Force, and turned it down.....
  19. So, not only is the sign removed the park (A very bad sign (tee hee, no pun intended)), but they have it turned towards the wall so no one sees it?
  20. I love: 1. The air horn. It means Diamondback is ready to go. 2. The rumble of the train exiting the station. It just sounds awesome. 3. The splashdown. SKLOOSH!! Need I say more? 4. That spine tingling, goosebump-endusing, mesmorising, beautiful, amazing, wonderful sound, The B&M roar. Jackson, who can hear it in his ears now.....
  21. This sounds interesting....I'm excited.
  22. Please no. KIC has lost a lot recently, but please do not threaten KIC's sense of humor. That's one of the few things this site has managed to keep and excel in, a fun, joking friendly community. There are numerous sites I will not post on because they are to strict, to serious, not any fun. And about Terpy, I would know he takes some getting used to. If you do not know him like most of us on this board do, it would indeed seem like he is a invaluable spammer. But, he is the most insightful, intelligent, and wise member on KICentral. And he has a tendency to not say what he means straightforwardly. Sometimes on a good day he will even put it in humorous form. And when he sounds like his is making an attack on someone, take it from me, he is not.
