  1. I'm crestfallen about loosing Scooby Doo, but otherwise, BRING ON THE SNOOPY!
  2. Would I do it? Yes, this is a unique opportunity! Would I do it again? Heavens no!
  3. Part of me goes "Darnet, the firewood's back at it!" Another goes, "Yes, there's still hope for this ride." I wanted to see this ride go for so long, and so passionately, but at the sight of this news I actually find myself somewhat uplifted. Huh. Perhaps it's just the fundamental enthusiast in me coming out and saying don't play with fire.
  4. A Terpy poll? Yay! I'd have to say, Beast at Kings Island. I've been riding that coaster for years, it's the ride that turned me into a true coaster enthusiast, and I still love it despite it's reputation of being rough, trimmed, and boring. It's a great ride, reridable, and has the best finale ever. For me, a trip to Kings Island just doesn't seem right without a rideon The Beast, and I've made a tradition to end the season on it every year. I'll be riding till I die and I hope Beast is still there with me. Oh, and Diamondback is pretty cool too....
  5. Paramount's Kings Island made good sure that Son of Beast did NOT break Beast's length record.....
  6. I was saying not how much would it cost to replace it, but they don't have to replace it in the first place. It could just remain a grassy field for years. Sigh. Give me 2 possible ways to "Fix" Son of Beast, that have not been tried before and are actually realistic (No more of this "Take out the rosebowl and put in an out and back" or "replace the track to steel" stuff)
  7. Where in the world did you get the Replace figure? Who said they had to replace it? Or for that matter, tear it down in the first place?
  8. The Universal Studios Layout is pretty similar. The wheel layout works pretty well, but it'd be easier if they had a centerpoint to make it much more accessible like KI. That would mess with the lake however, which is a big no-no.
  9. It's not physics. They are magnetic brakes, they are always on. ALWAYS. You may not feel them as much, but they're still there.
  10. This has been posted before, but thanks for posting it still! It's nice to go back and look at all this old stuff, in an industry like this things change so much that 4 years ago can seem like an eternity! And way to go with the Millie artwork, where did you find it?
  11. I'm very glad I was able to go and ride Dueling Dragons while they still weren't themed to Harry Potter. I'm sure the theming on the area will be excellent, but the idea of Harry taking over that ride does not excite me. Choose Thy Fate: Griffendor or Slytherin. *HACK!*
  12. Well if it's like shooting yourself in the hand and saying "Oww, it hurts!", then why should Kings Island be supplying the gun?
  13. I've seen Son of Beast a walk on, and nearly 2 hour wait. And before someone says it, that has nothing at all to do with the popularity.
  14. 2. If they had something good to say about the ride, they most likely would have said so. If the fate of the ride was ultimately negative, do you think they'd say so in the middle of the season? 5. Uhm, Exactly. It costs a lot of money...... 6. Does it matter? They gated up the entrance. Plain and simple. Any gate can be removed. 7. In previous years, they would just hang the Club Blood sign in front of the Son of Beast sign. Now, the Son of Beast sign has been removed all together. And the sign is usually not up until much later, and there usually isn't a gap between the Son of Beast sign being gone and the Club Blood sign being up.
  15. No, I'm saying Diamondback's first drop is so great it deserves to have 5 spots.
  16. 1. Diamondback 2. Diamondback 3. Diamondback 4. Diamondback 5. Diamondback 6. Drop Tower 7. Xtreme Skyflyer 8. Vortex 9. Beast 10. Flight Deck.
  17. At School a few days ago: Kid: You know Diamondback was supposed to have loops in it. Me: Uh, no it wasn't Kid: Yea, it was. You can see it in the model at the park. Me: First, the model was sold last year, it is no longer at Kings Island. Second, the model was built as a very accurate representation of the ride, which, doesn't have any loops. Kid, realizing he's dealing with someone who actually has an IQ over 100: Well, my dad works with the people who made Diamondback, and he said it was going to have a loop. Me: Really? Where does he work? Kid: ......New York(?)...... Me: Nope. Diamondback was designed by Bolliger and Mabillard in Mothey, Switzerland. At that point the kid just kinda, gave up.
  18. Not reridable? I rode Top Thrill Dragster 8 times within a matter of an hour one morning. Millennium Force I could ride all day. Not to mention Raptor or Wicked Twister. What can you ride over and over at KI? Diamondback, Flight of Fear, Flight Deck, maybe Beast. Big Bad Wolf is gone.
  19. That looks more like a B&M Hyper to me..... Which I like even better!
  20. Diamondback Beast Racer Flight of Fear Flight Deck Drop Tower Adventure Express Blue Streak Raptor maXair Wicked Twister Power Tower Magnum XL-200 Gemini Maverick Millennium Force Top Thrill Dragster Wildcat
  21. Dollywood Kings Island Universal Studios Islands of Adventure And that's just of park's I've been too! Cedar Point does deserve the Best Amusement Park in the World award IMO, but a lot of it depends on what you're looking for in a park. I said in my USF/IOA PTR that that park is almost if not as good of a park as Cedar Point, and I meant it!
  22. B&M doesn't do wood. The only time they did do wood was when they made the trains for Psyclone at Six Flags Magic Mountain. It was known as a horribly rough woodie and was demolished a few years back, Terminator: Salvation now stands there. So..... Quick! KI call up GCII and get them fixing on Son of Beast!
