  1. Drop Tower's been closed for weeks, and I doubt it reopens for just one more weekend.
  2. Its more than fitting. Son of Beast makes Kings Islands skyline. It wasthe tallest ride in the park, and its smack dab in the front. Removing it is more than super obvious. If you put ANYTHING and i mean anything that is in the low 100 ft range, people will know it. No matter if it smashes every other coaster in terms of awesomeness whether it be with airtime, laterals, g forces, or a new type of ride it wont matter, the general public will think of it as that puny coaster Kings Island put in place of SOB. Of COURSE people are gonna know! And, the way I'm reading it, you think that the only way to keep the public happy is to replace it with a ride equally as big and awe inspiring. 1. Guess what, we just got Diamondback. 2. Guess what. The public may not be genius, but they're not dumb to the point where "Big ride = Happy guest" Bigger is NOT Better. Period! "The puny little coaster they put in place of Son of Beast" Is a horrible way to go about looking at things because you seem to think that guests will only look well upon new attractions if they are large, which is wrong. Plus, do you have any idea how much Maverick cost? $50 Million! That' $50,000,000! AKA - Twice as much as Diamondback. So if you think guests will think they took the cheap way out with a small ride, you are very wrong. In short - The mentality of bigger rides and guest satisfaction is plain and simply wrong. 'Err!' WRONG! Maverick last year had 1,131,319 riders, and Top Thrill Dragster, the most tall and impressive ride in the park, had 1,210,327. Not exactly an astounding difference. Maybe it's just me, but when I see someone going down the street in a Hummer I think of a Gas-Guzzling-Show-Offy-Careless driver, and when I see a prius I think it looks modern and green and smart. I certainly hope not. I would be MORE than upset if we got a prefab of any kind in place of SOB. WHAT?!?!? And you're totally oblivious to the fact that El Toro is one of the two best wooden roller coasters in America, one of the top ten on Earth? Boy, just wait till Terpy gets a load of you!
  3. One of the most popular rides at Cedar Point is Maverick. It's 105 feet tall. Why in the world would you think that because a big ride is a removed, a big ride must go in it's place or people will think badly of it?
  4. No Trim! And on a side note: Are they setting a speed record or something? I mean really, they're gonna have the first 4 hills done before the close of the Season, Diamondback had it's first only half done! I mean really, this is unreal!
  5. Wow. Just, WOW. I mean, WOW. I'm in love.
  6. When Kings Island got X-Flight (Now Firehawk), it came with 3 trains. Firehawk runs 2, the third is used for spare parts and maintenance. The same is true for what the G-Trains from Geauga Lake are supposed to be for, spare parts for the Son of Beast trains.
  7. Via Bing Maps: By Means of Comparison, here is the Coney / Rivertown area at the same distance ratio: So with Son of Beast's space (Just what it occupies now, not even what it opens up!) you have the FX Theatre to Diamondback essentially.
  8. I doubt that it would be cost-effective to modify the trains again, and doesn't CF have G-trains from GL? Yes, and if I'm not mistaken, they were reported a year or two back as being at Kings Island, supposedly for spare parts like the 3rd X-Flight train.
  9. When they tear down Son of Beast, a B&M Invert, or Intamin Woodie, or Gravity Group ride would go nicely there. I'd also like to see a GCII in X-Base.
  10. What a great year it's been. Does ACE still get the last Beast rides?
  11. I'd imagine it'd find it's way to another Six Flags park, but then again, Two Face has been for sale for quite a while.
  12. It's on again at 8 pm tomorrow. If you can't make it then, record it. If all else fails, YouTube it!
  13. Reminds me of why I'm excited for Snoopy to come. The show is just so much better then almost all of the Nick garbage out there, plots are better, charecters are better, and it's so much more age appropriate! Peanuts is one of those shows that practically everyone can sit down and enjoy, while Nick is aimed at only a specific audiance, and even then it's pretty vulgar for that. Every time I hear Lucy call Linus a "Blockhead" I think to myself, "What would Nick have said?" and then asked, "Were they allowed to say that back then?" Now the parents have no excuse when they say "My kids have never seen Peanuts!" April, 2010, baby!
  14. Can you say, G-FORCES?!?!?! A Photo Gallery Update: http://www.intimidator305.com/public/latest/gallery/ Blog Update too!:
  15. Before everyone says it, I'll say it first. Yummmy...... Also, a new angle to the webcam has been added. I'm sure we're gonna see more delicious views from this angle.
  16. But if you plan on using that space in 2011, you'd think you'd want a pretty clear slate of land to start out with in 2010. I agree with Dave, it looks like they definitely plan on using that area in 2011, but the "You never know" is a standard response he would have given to anything.
  17. I understand what he's getting at. On Diamondback's first drop, no matter where I sit, I always get a feeling where my entire body only floats up an inch or two, but it feels like my stomach is about to pop out my throat. On the next few hills, my enitre body (including my stomach) just plain and simply get launched. I also understand the mentality of it, when I ride Diamondback for the first time that day it always seems better then all the other rides. It's probably because I am excited and anxious to ride, so it always feels more intense the first time. Rides on the Vomit Comet are going for 30 Million folks!
  18. Of course. Of course. Is it June yet?
  19. Yea, the RWN site, which I thought was one of the biggest letdowns and rip-offs in coaster site history, Or the Halloween Haunt site, which I thought was quite Impressive.
  20. So far crowds are pretty good, no hour long waits but no walk ons, expect half hour lines. The weather is good, but COLD! Wear layers if you go! Enjoy yourself!
  21. That's right, I'm looking at YOU Kat!
  22. .....Other then they have bigger fish to fry, other things to worry about, and other places to spend their nickels then overhauling 5 sites that esentially work fine.
  23. Great topic idea! Kings Island: My home park, will love it no matter what. The addition of Diamondback just makes me love it 1000x more, and the new and improved Rivertown is spectacular! Ever since CF took over the park has gotten better and better, and Ride Warriors Weekend is one of the best Events I've ever been too! Cedar Point: What can I say? Absolutely amazing park, Amazing I tell you! CoasterMania was without a doubt the best 2 days I've ever spent at an amusement park, and after spending time to ride some of the classic rides like Cadillac Cars and the Cedar Downs, I can say that if you go to CP and don't enjoy yourself, then there's something wrong with you! Universal Studios Orlando: What a day! The extensiveness and detail that goes into every single inch of that park is amazing! The rides are something to be beat and the theming is wonderful! The prices are high, but so are the prices for a house and car. Both end up being worth it, and so will Universal. It's one of the best parks out there. If you have the opportunity, GO! Strickers Grove: For $12, I'd be hard pressed to find a park with better bang for your buck. Teddy Bear, now one of 2 Coaster Classics in Ohio, a great collection of flats, good food, and TORNADO! It's a great place, and definitely worth a visit! Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom: Underrated park for sure. Well, at least the front half. For only $30 you can get a season pass to this place, so it's definitely worth the money. The front part of the park is relatively clean, with good employees, and pretty nice rides and landscaping. However, after you cross over the bridge to the second half, the park, basically, sucks. Without Twisted Twins, or Chang, and with the Waterpark taking over, there's very little point to that area. The paint and buildings are rusting, the rides stink, and the landscaping is non existant. Thunder Run is great, but if you sit in any other seat besides the front it will beat you to death. Go to this park, but mind you, you will be able to do most of the park in a few hours.
