  1. Flying Turns has been talked about for Best new ride of 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. Clearly the coaster gods do not want this ride to happen.
  2. Amen to the Terpy god!
  3. What is an "Average" roller coaster? Technically, that would be the most common style roller coaster. Which, would be none other then.... *shivers* In all seriousness, for me an "Average" coaster would be anything by John Allen. It's the epitome of a roller coaster basically, a few stories high, lots of drops and airtime, a turn or two and somewhat long. And most of all, fun!
  4. Last Friday night the line was roughly 10 minutes.
  5. Cedar Fair took over shortly before the Son of Beast incident, only a few weeks before.
  6. Would you advertise a ride that wasn't currently open? That was Marlene, a whole different era of (Paramounts) Kings Island. Now we have Short Round and Shiny.
  7. Isn't that kind of what Great Wolf Lodge serves as? Sure, it's not owned by KI, but it has a walking path there and a lot of people stay there while at KI.
  8. If I'm riding Fairly Odd Coaster, and I turn my back to talk to a friend, then the ride turns and I bang my head, does that mean that I should sue because they suck at maintaining it? Seriously. This is just ridiculous. When word first came out of the Son of Beast incident that occurred in March, some thought she was looking for a quick buck. No, this is what it looks like when someone is looking for a quick buck.
  9. I am one who does not enjoy Haunt as much. I just don't like that kind of stuff. Still, I suggest you go. The Atmosphere of the park is much, much different. It's spooky beyond all get out, and it's really cool. I swear, you will not recognize the park if you go. The Roamers / Creepers aren't too bad. They will not touch you. They will come up and shock you, maybe follow you, creep you out and scare the living daylights out of you with their sliding knee pads, but unless you have high blood pressure, it's not too bad. The fog alone makes it worth going. Roller coasters + nighttime + fog = As far as the haunts themselves go, it's up for you to decide. I went through Club Blood in 2008 for the KIC tour (With the lights on, and my mom right behind me) and I nearly puked. They are supposed to be pretty freaky, so use your judgment. Again, I suggest go. It's a unique experience that you will not regret going to, and odds are you will enjoy it.
  10. This topic made today worth living. Lets all sit in a circle, hold hands, sing "Kum By Ya", and hope the coaster gods and Jesus Miller Christ is listening.....
  11. I don't see Cedar Point letting this slide. Honestly. "Tallest, Fastest, Meanest coaster in (Insert location of park here)." If they are that desprate for records, can you seriously see them loosing Cedar Point's Most Coasters in One Park Record?
  12. While not much has been posted here (Or on the coaster's official site), work continues on the newest B&M Hyper to grace the Earth. Intimidator's lift hill is well underway, as you can see from this webcam shot from a few minutes ago:
  13. Tom76257 walks up to a guy with his jaw down to his waist: "You know they have a surgery for that!" Person in our group who's name I never did catch runs up to a guy with his back turned: "Let me re-arrange you're tail! You're tail is crooked!"
  14. On Flight of Fear I like to sit in the back, you get more whiplash going through the second half of the ride with what little speed you have. On Beast? Normally I like to sit in the second to back. It's a coaster standard: Back of the train = more forces. But on special occasions (First / last ride of the season, at night, etc...) I like to ride in the front. It's a longer wait, but boy is it worth it. What a wonderful journey in the front, it's like the ride is all to yourself.
  15. Glad to see the ride is going to stay. I have faith that Cedar Fair will do the new Planet Snoopy area well, as they have at Cedar Point, and I hope that the same care goes into the retheming of the ride. Of course, we all know how much Cedar Fair adores Dark Rides, so I'm still a little cautious about how they'll do with CBatHM.....
  16. While we as enthusiasts know better then too associate height, ride type, and so on with roughness, the fact is that the general public has the incorrect prejeduice about them because of their lack of knowledge on the subject. And, the general public sadly makes up nearly all of the park's ticket sales, so if the gp has a misconception about a ride, then your in a bit of fix.
  17. Not at all, I am just saying that for future reference that you should know what kind of credibility Shaggy has.
  18. Shaggy is one of the most intelligent and wise members on this board, and for the most part when he speaks I at least, listen. I trust what he has to say as a pretty smart statement, and to question him would be something no one who have been on this board a while would do.
  19. Cedar Fair seems to like putting in GCIIs lately, and I can see why. Relatively cheap, easy to maintain, and very, very fun to ride. Seems like an ideal CF purchase.
  20. After reading yet another Holiday World trip report, I'm trying not to throw a temper tantrum! Glad you had fun Dvo! It was nice meeting you on Friday, too!
  21. I stand corrected, while I didn't see that when I was there I'll assume Universal's site is much better maintained the any of the former Paramount's!
  22. Cedar Point still does Hot Summer Lights....not exactly the same as a fireworks display but basically their one up equivalent....
  23. These guys obviously have no idea what their talking about. They're not removing the fountains. Someone close this topic.
  24. Or 25 million, with that you could tear down Son of Beast and replace it with a brand new Shiny B&M Invert!
