  1. Now that Flying Eagles has been added as an official option, I changed my answer from lower the food prices to bring back the Eagles! Not that it will ever happen...
  2. http://www.cirquedus...cincinnati.aspx About the show:
  3. Good one! Loose women, spinning around at 25mph & then dropping, might be worth seeing! This comment was in poor taste, considering that in 1991 a woman did drop out of a ride which was very near the site of WindSeeker. What "women" had to do with what CoastersRZ said, I have no idea.
  4. The Flying Dutchman went to Kentucky Kingdom. Zodiac went to Australia's Wonderland: http://www.KICentral...ndpost&p=277538
  5. ^From what I've read on here, the Carowinds event was not well attended. Terpy can tell you more about that, but for now, here's an old post from him about the subject:
  6. While I'm not too happy about the late date for opening day, another question has come to mind. Why did the park release the operating calendar for next year already? I worked at the park for 19 seasons (9 of those in management positions) and have been going to the park for as long as I can remember, and to the best of my knowledge they've never released the following year's schedule this early. I'd be interested in knowing their motivation, especially since there are so many variables that could change things between now and then.
  7. Wow that's late! That's the latest opening day I EVER remember seeing. I'm not too happy about that... Not that there's anything I can do about it though.
  8. As one of our managers used to say... "When guests come into the park, most of them check their brains at the front gate." I hate to tell you this, but your manager was wrong. Having worked in Admissions for 10 years, I can assure you that many guests check their brains before getting to the front gate. My first year in Admissions (1995) we had Tolls too, and some guests had left them somewhere even before that point.
  9. ^ I was thinking kind of the same thing, but about the entrance. The queue line started on the left side of the lift hill, took a right turn and went under the lift, then continued on the opposite side of the station. I was thinking those people are in the queue to ride it, which would have been further back than the trick track section. To me it didn't look like they were next to the trick track, but off behind it. I don't remember the exit setup too well (besides the fact that it dumped you inside the gift shop for years, which it didn't always do IIRC), but from that camera angle I think the exit would have been just on the other side of the queue, which is why I think those people are waiting to ride rather than exiting.
  10. I sometimes carry a Disney Princess backpack, but that's only when I pick GatorGirl up from school and she hands me her backpack!
  11. I've never understood the appeal of Hello Kitty. But then I was never a 5 year old girl either...
  12. That looks like a lot of fun. We went to Cypress Gardens several times when I was a kid. While as an adult I hate to see a lot of the way it was go away, the kid in me thinks "Legoland would have been a lot more fun to me at that age". Hopefully they're able to draw the crowds down from Orlando. I think a visit to Winter Haven might be in the cards for us in 2012.
  13. Sam is usually found in one of two spots. Either in the room with the strobe light where he wants to share the latest cut of meat with you, or in the very first room that you enter where he will give you the rules of the house. He has a bushy goatee and wears a black & white bandana on his head. I'd post a picture of him, but due to the firewalls here at work I can't access any of the picture hosting sites to do so.
  14. You went last Friday and didn't stop by to see Sam the Butcher? How dare you!
  15. ^Thanks for clearing that up. I guess I was confusing the two smaller local parks, both of which I enjoy immensely!
  16. It was there much later than 1983, as I remember it being there when I started working in the park. In fact, the park map that DIeseltech20 linked above from 1989 has it on there, and the KIC History Timeline says it was removed at the end of the 1990 season. Although I personally thought it was later than that, I've been wrong before and will defer to the Timeline.
  17. I thought that I read somewhere that Super Roundup came from LL too, where it was called Electric Rainbow?
  18. ^It now operates at DelGrosso's Amusement Park in Tipton, PA and is called Casino there.
  19. The day that broke the record for most people in the gates was not a closing day. More than that I will not say, except that I worked on the day that broke that record.
  20. I've been on the last Beast train of the season for the past three years now, but I won't be this year. This year I'll be trick-or-treating with GatorGirl since I missed doing it the last two years because of working Haunt on Halloween night. They're only little for so long, and I have to take advantage of that while I can!
  21. More length. Sorry, I just had to... Raven's a wonderful coaster, and if were longer it may have swapped spots with Legend on my HW coaster ranking.
  22. Not necessarily so. I have a lot of fun working Haunt every year. It's a wonderful change of pace from my day job. Gator, who started in his teens and now falls into that "30s or older" group (and is currently in his 19th season at the park).
  23. I've ridden: Blue Streak, Racer, Rebel Yell, Screamin' Eagle & Woodstock Express (KI's). Out of those, Racer is my favorite (with Blue Streak fairly close behind).
