Quick Smurfy Haunt Report from Friday 9/25
XGatorHead 8904 replied to LongLiveTheSmurfRide's topic in Trip Reports
You know Slaughter House isn't scheduled to be open October 25th, right? Hopefully you'll get to go through... although I have no idea what you look like so if you do go through I wouldn't have any idea! I am hoping that they go to 60-75% off on the Scooby stuff by the time I get there...some of that stuff seems so overpriced that even with the 50% off I can get it cheaper on ebay...shipping included. On Sunday, they had Scooby stuff 75% off at Emporium, in the room closest to Festhaus. I got a snowglobe with Scooby & Shaggy looking at the Eiffel Tower (with fireworks behind it) and below them it says "What a Day!"... for a dollar and change. I'll miss Scooby... -
You came through too? Wow... I did keep missing everyone! Slaughter House is better the darker it gets, but like I said in another topic, that problem will solve itself as the sun sets later. I know you went through Club Blood several times last year, so I'm sorry to hear you didn't like it as well this year.

KI, Coney Island, and more KI 9-25 and 9-26, 2009
XGatorHead 8904 replied to gigacoaster2k's topic in Trip Reports
Great TR. I don't know how I missed you guys when you came through Slaughter House. I guess I need to pay more attention to who I'm scaring! We had some technical difficulties on Friday night, which had been corrected by Saturday. And the smell just adds to the authenticity (although now that there are no more animals, who knows how much longer that smell will stick around). -
^Come on now, Justin... remember you went through on a rehearsal night. There have been changes since then. When we came in on Friday, the room Typical Guy and I were in was completely changed, so we had to totally rework everything we had done before. And I think it worked out better the way it's set up now.

If You Had Creative Control Over Haunt, What Would You Do?
XGatorHead 8904 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
They did that in Phantom Theater during one of the first years of FearFest. -
It's definitely worth it, even without playing the games. GatorGirl actually didn't want to leave the picnic grove so that we could ride rides... that's not like her! With the Tractor Town and petting zoo, there's more to do this year then there was last year.
-
You, Tom and Angie came through? Darn, I'm just missing everyone as they come through. The only ones I saw were Ryan, Robbie, Karen, Peanut and keiko_coaster. And when I saw Peanut, I couldn't decide if it was her or not. By the time I decided it was, it was too late to say anything.
-
It was a little hard to explain to GatorGirl on Sunday why she couldn't play the games at Howl-O-Fest this year. I wasn't going to pay money for something that was free last year, especially if the prizes were the same quality as they were last year (to be fair, we didn't get close enough to the games to see the prizes, so I don't know if they are the same). I was wondering why there weren't people lined up at the games like there were last year, then I saw the prices. That kept us away from them, and we had to think quickly to come up with something to distract GatorGirl away from the games.

^Sorry, I don't really remember that section too well. Was that the part with the hanging milkjugs?

Haunt is Back and Better Than Ever!
XGatorHead 8904 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Well, a slaughterhouse doesn't exactly smell like roses now, does it? I completely missed you the other night. I was looking for you (and all the other KICers that said they would be there). And it is better when it's darker. It's harder to get the scares in with the sunlight peeking through over the walls. But that problem will solve itself as the sun sets earlier. -
Trail was very good when we went through on Tuesday (of course it's always been one of my favorites). The one thing I didn't like was the lighting marking the sides of the trail. I understand the need for it, but it was much better without it. It just ruins the "creepy woods" atmosphere IMO. But the creepy doll girls were good, and I loved how the chainsaw guys got close enough to me that I could feel the exhaust from the chainsaw on my arm. And I missed the squirting toilet. We were waiting for it but never got hit!

If VF did go 360 degress, then more than likely my daughter wouldn't be able to ride it... and it's currently one of her favorites. Parks need family rides too, not just rides only for adults or only for children, but rides parents and kids can ride together. Through the years KI has taken out a lot of these, and now that I have a kid I miss them more than ever. Goodbye Flying Eagles, Tumblebug, Bayern Curve, Der Spinnin' Keggers, Witch's Cauldrons, WAH Monorail, Flying Dutchman, Giant Slide... the list goes on...
-
^They did. And they had a nice surprise waiting for you under the floor...
-
They are. Smurfs are good eatin' too... put a little buffalo sauce on them, and they're just like chicken wings!
-
There will be a certain Gator and a Typical Guy there tonight, butchering away. Just don't let them team up on you... and they WILL team up on you!

^If I remember correctly, I think I saw them on one of my visits, near the the gravel section of the parking lot. -
People OUTSIDE KI Say The Darnedest Things
XGatorHead 8904 replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
Since I heard this at CP, about a CP ride, I guess it would fit this topic. While walking through Frontiertown, I heard a guest say "Let's go ride The Millennium Express". I guess Millie and Woodstock Express must have had a baby... -
I was wondering when you would show your face on here again! Just be warned... your favorite intimidating bouncer is now a butcher this year. So stop by Slaughter House, and we can process you to truly be a meal on wheels...
-
The kids said "Bring it on" :_ I can't wait to scare Peanut too... and the funny thing is, you most likely don't know what I look like or who I am. But I've seen Peanut at the shows plenty of times to know who she is. Just listen for a strange voice saying "Peanut"...

Question about KI weekends (this weekend)
XGatorHead 8904 replied to Whales_Rock's topic in Kings Island
The "big rides" are open Sunday, as well as the little ones! -
Nice! I think somebody has told them. I was able to fit in the test seat for Fahrenheit (although I didn't get a chance to ride it), and I was able to ride Maverick this past weekend. Both of them feature an adjustable strap that hooks to the restraint. I could not fit on Millie, TTD or WT, all of which have a non-adjustable strap. Looks like Intamin is on the right track making their newer coasters with the adjustable strap... now if only they would (or could) rework their older coasters with these! Or, I could continue to try to drop the pounds (which I'm still working on, however slowly).

Now is generally the best time to get a season pass. Historically, the season pass price usually increases after the fall.
-
I knew about the prescription ones, I just don't want to shell out the money for another set of prescription contacts to wear just at Haunt (even though they do look cool)! Without my contacts, my vision's pretty much useless.
-
^Well, there are a lot of things that pop out at you during Haunt! Even in the midways...
