Beastie didn't have seatbelts until 2000. (At least according to my references.)
-
Well I think it's cute! Yes, I said cute with reference to a coaster, but I just love the little trains and the cute blue color with its little track. Anyway...I'll have to keep it in the back of my head for a special occasion!

I'm very happy about getting my credit on Scooby's Ghoster Coaster before it was removed. Also, for trips to KI that involve staying most of the day, I almost always ride Beastie from the back car all by my little lonesome--so it's fine. Are there any junior wooden coasters out there that require a child? Please say no!

The Beast--all the way. It is a must ride at Kings Island. The "X-base" which includes Firehawk and Flight of Fear is a must-visit. Racer is a great older wooden coaster. Be careful on Son of Beast, it is especially rough in the first helix, but in other parts of the ride, it's great. If you don't mind roughness, you'll love it. While in that area, I also recommend whatever Top Gun will be called. The entrance is right next to Son of Beast. It's one of the few suspended coasters that you can find. Hope this helps.

Just to drive us crazy. BTW, the countdown is 3 months and 12 days, I believe.

Perhaps... don't forget about the "aircraft carrier" portion of the queue under the station. I'm not sure how much that would add, as I've never had to wait in it (or been willing) to see how much is under there.
-
Sorry about that. Apparently it just depends on which park you are attending and how up to date their systems are. Hopefully we won't have to sign in at any CF park sometime soon. Thanks for the info...I didn't know that there were some parks where you could.
-
look at the bright side at least with the italian job you don't have to walk threehundred miles to rest your feet for like twenty seconds and then rewalk the three hundred miles I have to give you that! The walk is longer than the ride. I read somewhere that it has the longest queue in the park.

laughing! That was cute. This surprises me. Most people seem to like TG. I wouldn't call it a favorite of mine either, but I really don't want to see it go...that's just one less coaster to ride.
-
Sorry, I didn't specify did I...oops. Parks besides KI, as I never had to do this either. I had to sign in at guest relations for Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, and Michigan's Adventure. Kings Island was fine, though. (My pass was from there--I assume that is why.)
-
Does anyone know whether or not Kings Island is planning to repaint whatever they will call Top Gun? If this is unknown...any theories as to whether they will? It was looking rather...shall we say...under the weather last season with the faded blue paint and the rust. The rust is what gets me...it actually makes it look unsafe whether or not it is. Did I ride it...of course! But it still doesn't make for the greatest looks.
-
That sounds surprisingly simple. Perhaps the Cedar Fair parks are making things at season pass processing easier to deal with. I hope that within a few years, we will be able to scan in at the gate, rather than having to sign in at guest relations as you did last season when visiting other parks. (Or at least the parks I visited.)

Faster! My brother and I picked ours up closing weekend, and were not able to get our preferred size.

That's amazing! It makes me want to go down this weekend and take a look. I look forward to pictures being posted soon!

And you should please note that the comment of the moderator was in no way professional. Either way--there are much more pleasant forums out there (especially the ones that you aren't a part of) and I will certainly continue to hang there. I do appreciate that these forums are closely related to Kings Island. If all of you would focus on the fun involved, it would be a much better forum in which to hang out. I've seen some pretty crappy treatment. And...sure one word posts that are useless to read should be limited, but it is much better for the climate of the forum overall if the comments of the moderators and its members are friendly to ALL forum visitors.

On the contrary. Personally, I think that just makes those who post feel less interested in posting in the site. Just skip over it, it's short enough. I get tired of having to click on all of the links constantly, but you don't hear me complaining about that. Regardless, the focus in a coaster related forum ought to be about fun--this forum (in MY opinion--and you can't take it away from me) is a particularly nasty forum when it comes to posting friendly and fun filled things. All anyone on here wants to do is argue and say nasty things like the above, and the moderators are in no way friendly to its members.

Its funny to me that you all are the ones that keep bringing things back up. Just get over yourselves, off your over-confrontational, egocentric feelings, and back on the topic. I think that is for the FIFTH time now. Agree to disagree and move on like any normal person would. Thank you JacksonPKI for agreeing with the idea! -
It is too bad that they won't be hosting the event this year. Hopefully they can get something worked out for another location. After all, an event somewhere is better than no event at all. By the way... Isn't this a little harsh of a statement for someone casually posting in a coaster-related forum? Why is that? Who do you know in ACE or at the park to give that kind of information? The original poster was asking a question, and you're doing nothing to help him, just taking a guess and potentially mislead him. Once again, I remind you, if you're going to post something, make it worthwhile. If you don't think KI is going to have the event then please say why that way you're not giving out any false information. Thats pretty rude to the original poster who is looking for an answer to his question, if you really know the answer or think you have some reasoning behind your statement, then please post it and don't waste the original posters time.

Geauga Lake Sells All Their Rides...

Lets try this a FOURTH TIME for the benefit of everyone. Lets agree to disagree and move on. I'll have my opinion and it will stay that way--you have yours and it will stay that way! Big deal--move on! -

Conveniently also a former Paramount park. Also--for the THIRD time. Lets agree to disagree and move on. -
Geauga Lake Sells All Their Rides...

The differences in the overall stats of the two rides are not all that different. Slightly maybe...but not completely different. Either way... Lets agree to disagree and move on. -

Blue Streak at CP is 2558' and has a max speed of 40 mph and was bulit in 1964. Racer is 3415' and has a max speed of 61 mph and was built in 1972. Racer also has 6 more people/ train. How can these two coasters be compared to each other? And how does airtime define if trims are to be used or not? I believe that I used the word APPROXIMATELY in that particular post. Blue Streak was used as an example because they are comparable in size and design...not identical...but comparable. I think we have lost sight of the point. At this point you are going to use whatever you can to argue with me. If I use an example of a coaster that is 83 feet tall, then you'll say "IT'S A FOOT DIFFERENT SO IT'S COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM RACER." I for one, would like to see us quit arguing over the defense of something as stupid as trim brakes, which in many cases, doesn't need defending. At this point we can all just agree to disagree on this issue and get back to the topic at hand. I'm not sure how exactly we got off on this tangent, nor do I care, but the topic is Geauga Lake selling rides. I think that it has potential to survive as a waterpark if CF wants to take the time to it right. This is still questionable, but only time will tell. We'll see! It's sad to lose the rides at Geauga Lake, and I hope they all find new homes. Thunderhawk is now safe, and Dominator is safe. The rest are still very much threatened. I'd like to see all of them relocated to a new home especially Villain. Whether anyone is a Villain fan or not in here, I enjoyed my rides on it this summer and found it to be one heck of a coaster that I wouldn't mind riding again! -
Geauga Lake Sells All Their Rides...

Yes... I am well aware of the purpose of trims. As well as many other portions of a roller coaster that you might think I wouldn't such as upstops, chaindogs, anti-rollbacks etc. and the functions of each. I don't need to explain any credentials to you. You can plainly see the lack of a need for trims by looking at other comparable roller coasters such as Blue Streak, which is approximately the same size, age, and train length. It uses no trims, and has even more airtime than Racer. Rather than defending the trims, or trying to make it sound like I'm stupid and you are all-knowing, why not think of other comparable roller coasters out there. I find it amusing that a related forum to a park that has a reputation for trimming rides to death, would be defending trim brakes to me. Why am I not surprized. If you want to trim a ride to death so that you can ride a less than satisfactory ride longer, fine. All I am saying is that with a little TLC, a coaster can easily be made to last regardless of the forces present. All it takes is a park that cares about the rides and overall satisfaction of the riders. There are certain times that trims can be very useful, such as the main big one on The Beast, the one on Vortex, or even Son of Beast or FoF if they are dialed back a smidge. Most notable are the trims on Mean Streak at Cedar Point. The ride is actually a better quality ride with the trims...however when they don't need to be there...they don't need to be there!
