  1. And people say KI doesnt care about proper theming for an area.... I mean come on, there is a Hoedown in Rivertown!! If thats not area appropriate, I dont know what is! Sparky, boot-scoot boogey-ing outta here.
  2. LOL, yeah, I just realized I screwed up and put 2001, and not 2011. That was the same year the Platinum I purchased online from WoF came up as invalid at KD when I tried to turn the paper copy into a hard card. In regards to my KI Platinum, they both worked properly at both parking tolls, and at entry turnstiles at CP when Brad and I went on the 7th and 8th of June. We will see how they work at KD when we go the 17th, 18th,and 19th of July.
  3. Or the lunacy at KD in 2001. What year did they say your pass was supposedly from, Terp, 1997?
  4. Yes, I am fully aware of that. What I am also aware of is that the park still has the "little park" feel... at least for now. That, of course, is subject to and may change, much like one a few hours south/southwest.
  5. It was down for about 3 hours mid-afternoon, but was re-open with a full queue when we left at about 645pm on the 4th. Thankfully, I got my first two rides ever on it, on Fathers Day. Funny thing, I rode it once at 1145, and then again at 1430, and had it stick on the MCBR both times as well, lol. I am a fan of the park, places like IB are a lot more up my alley than Corp parks like CF parks, and even HW now . Much more relaxed atmosphere, much LESS money-grubbing, more diverse flat collection, and a perfect example of how to be a good park without relying on chasing records for every "est" in the industry. I just hope they are financially able to send all three woodie trains to PTC for refurb (although Cornballs train doesnt really need it, may as well make it a trio) and to give Hurricane some track Love. That CCI has NOT aged well, very much a reminder of Villain.
  6. Disregard, I misread the article I just posted here. Move along, folks, lol.
  7. Likewise, thankfully all of the ones I experienced happened on multiple day stays at said destinations, so it usually wasnt a total bust as we just tried agin the next day.
  8. 1) Im not even going to engage the first comment, and you need look no further than my Profile pic to see why. 2) Play the odds of having 20 seconds taken from your oh so valuable in park time for a random search, or spend much more time in the line to get scanned/searched at the gates, while at the same time putting yourself in the situation Terp is alluding to? Which is more detrimental to the "Best Day Ever" experience? Its the whole "anti stop, question, and frisk" crowd that would raise Cane about it. 3)THAT one i will agree with... see Brussels Airport. 4)Loving and absolutely on board with your last two points, regarding the drive to the park, and about the more "valid" (for lack of a better word right now) daily concerns you have. Oh, also, the auto correct from "solution" to "suiters lotion" made me laugh! EDIT: Dangit, sorry TB, this post was in reply to the one that preceded yours..
  9. Another thing, and I was absolutely dumbfounded/livid when i saw this idiocy, is this. When going through their metal detectors or wands, how many times have you had your phone checked? The reason I ask, is this... Not a large capacity device, but one injury/death is too many.
  10. One thought i have to reduce that issue is to place KI Security/Mason P.D. in areas around the park with wands, and scan/search random individuals or groups of people, but the problem I run into with that is we have become a Country of "Oh NO, I was singled out due to my (insert reason person feels they were "profiled" here)".
  11. Apologies for the double post, but in regards to the RMC tease, that would be just my luck to have my beliefs for CP and KI in 2017 to be transposed, and the GCI go to CP with the RMC coming here
  12. Right on, and I most certainly took the fact it was You that said it into consideration, which is why I went the direction I did with my response. Recent happenings 'round these parts have made me leery of engaging in many of the threads, and as someone who has met me face to face, Im sure You can understand why and also realize just HOW much I dial myself back in order to post here.
  13. Since the written word in a Fanboy forum cannot convey whether or not a response is banter, serious inquiry, sarcasm, or otherwise, Im going to give the benefit of the doubt and calmly respond with a link to the story of the Mythical Tigris. https://sites.google.com/site/mythicalfables/religious-cultures/judaism/jewish-mythology/the-keresh-and-the-tigris-of-the-bei-ilai I am not, and never did say, this IS going to be the name of said ride.... I said "consider". I am looking at angles and doing mild research, like everyone else. As a footnote, Griffin is also a hybrid Mythical feline creature.
  14. Consider... Tigris. it is a Mythical lion that originated in the Mythical forest known as "Bei Ilai".
  15. I had a feeling that $$$ was the primary reason.... and I had NO doubt the center wants to keep it going.
  16. The question can also be posed... why was Coastin For Kids discontinued? More to this than meets the eye, and my thoughts are the decision is/was not in the hands of the two organizations. Edited to state... if this is indeed the final KI Pride Night, I will be saddened, and quite disappointed, for a myriad of reasons.
  17. May I ask why... Or can you answer that without putting a PR spin on it? I very honestly want to know, but want the real deal.
  18. And dont forget that infernal dog on that ridiculous YouTube video that so many SWORE said "I Love you".
  19. Ohhhh wait.... look at the land the tree is on, that DEFINITELY signifies a double down element
  20. Quite the contrary, it is Peanuts themed. "Wonk, wonk wonk....wonk wonk wonk wonk wonk".
  21. Agreed 100%, Terp, and that honestly made me hesitate to post this . The ride definitely deserves the Status it received today.
  22. In relation to the above food list, Terp, have you been to Top This Donut Bar, approx 30 minutes from the park? I was treated last night by a FB Friend to a photo of their Star Attraction.... a donut, on top of a large waffle cone, with soft-serve filling not only the cone, but going through the donut hole and finally swirled on top of the donut!!! Edit for topic comment: I am +1 on riding flats, it really makes for a great day. IndyGuy4KI and I were at an event at CP in October of I believe 2012, and the rain and high winds had all coasters besides Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, and Cedar Creek Mine Ride closed. We spent the day riding all of the flats, and it was truthfully one of the best days either or both of us had at that park.
