ORLANDO: 50 Dead, 53 Wounded
IBEW_Sparky replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
And this is what genuinely frightens me about being alone at large gatherings or in Clubs/bars that Celebrate or cater to my Community, or any Community/Group for that matter that goes against the grain of what is considered "normal" or "Righteous" or "proper. My Heart dropped like a rock when I saw this trending this morning. Why.... why is it so hard to allow free Humans to engage in the Lives they wish to Live?- 106 replies

Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

I can say that I was VERY wrong on my predictions/thoughts on what I thought was going to be installed for 2017 at KI, but I can still hold onto a very strong hope that Cedar Point is going to do what I feel they SHOULD have done last year... instead of a one trick pony diver.... with Mean Streak, which is an RMC revision. -

Using a credit... that may or may not exist.... from INTAMIN, to pay for exclusivity on a roller coaster from B&M. Huh, learn something new every day here. -
Cedar Point Sunrise Thrills Tour
IBEW_Sparky replied to jcgoble3's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If one or both of the two people I usually go to the parks with can work out the time frames and finances, I am definitely going to do it. Ive always wanted to do an in-depth tour of TTD and watch the start-up procedures, and that will be the one way I will ever be on the top of Varavns lift hill. Its the "minimum two tickets per purchase" part that hurts people like me, unfortunately. Another case of "hoping for $400 possibly costing them $200". -
Ringling: The End of An Era

I read that first line, and thought we had gone from talking about Circus animals to a large percentage of today's adolescents. When it comes to Circus animals, I will say that Im in 100% agreement of making sure that the exotic animals that are used as performers are not trained in an abusive or improper way. And while I understand an elephant wasnt "instinctually designed" to stand with its front feet/paws on a big platform while balancing a rubber ball on its trunk or a lion to have a person's head in its mouth without making said head an appetizer, does training them to do so harm them, if they are born into that environment? If they arent being physically abused in he training process, the only thing I could POSSIBLY see that is less than ideal is keeping them penned, but then even that makes me look at zoos and the fact that those animals arent in their "natural wide open environment". -
I have to say that, I can absolutely guarantee you that A)Talking to Tony Clark about it was a complete waste (Im amazed he didnt give you someone to talk to, and then someone else, and the someone else, to finally get you to someone else in order to keep up his trend of announcements of announcements) and B)there is absolutely nothing that will make CF address any of this in a way you will find satisfactory, with the exception of MAYBE getting the things that bkroz mentioned in the way of a possible free admission ticket or free FL wristband. With what I saw at last years CoasterMania.... and no not the silly lack of giveaways that some thoosies were whining about..... in the absolutely inexcusable park operations ranging from ride ops to inept security, you can rest assured that everything you brought to GRs attention will be "taken under advisement" aka laughed off completely. Now, in all fairness to CP (more fairness than I feel the park deserves) the points also made by bkroz in his post are honest and true. This is a case of comparing it to what people with the KI meal plan are experiencing... they already have your money. You have to take a hard and honest look at this experience and decide to yourself if it will change your mind on renewing your Pass for 2017. Only you can make this choice.

Sorry Beast Gal, I did not realize I got that offensive. I welcome you and everybody to the wonderful site that is KIC. Sometimes I do like to joke around, and they sometimes get to offensive. I'm trying to cut down on that I hope you feel welcome, this come from me and everybody hereSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk And the same goes for me, I tend to have an offensive sense of humor, but to anyone, please do not feel offended by anything I say as it is never meant to be cruel/offensive.Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk Oh, that is not in any way possible with me. With the Trade I am a former Brother in, there was a saying that applied to every jobsite I was on. It was "Take your last feeling, and leave it in the truck!" As for me, I always have and always will say exactly what I mean, and mean exactly what I say with no second thoughts or remorse. -

I had that thought myself, I was also trying to convey that "sub 60 degree weather" didnt/doesnt require removal of water or discontinued operation of the ride. -

Understood, and interpreted, thank you Sir. I never paid attention to one that was simply not operating, and wasnt sure if water remained idle in the trough, or if it all drained away. -

Hey, Terp, since I want an answer from someone who actually has a clue... and because I simply havent paid attention in the past... is the water trough fully drained simply because the ride is not operating on a given day? Sparky, genuinely curious. -
I guess I will be going to Pole Day alone, and I was just thinking about that as I was on my way to Lucas Oil Raceway yesterday for Street Car Takeover. I was hoping you would make the other choice, but I understand the desire for some to attend these kind of events.
-
Unfortunately, I highly doubt it. I guess i just didnt go far enough when I went into the "purchase" portion of the single-day ticket. Looks like I will still end up getting the collapsible water bottle like originally planned.

Please direct me to where these unlimited drink wristbands are on the VisitKI.com website? I am looking and cannot seem to find it, and I would Love to, so I can utilize that this coming Friday. I was actually under the impression that those were discontinued to push the unlimited refill cups.

For the Trademark stalkers, consider this. There is a chance, that CF/KI could hold a contest for the new whatever, much like BGW did with Invadr. I do hope, however, that if they do hold such contest, they put a term or condition that the Company reserves the right to re-name it, or take the second most popular choice in case people think it would be hilarious to pull some cretinous stunt like the voters in the UK did when naming the new experimental ship. We REALLY dont need Coaster McCoastface. -
Tips for HW: Plymouth Rock Cafe.... EAT THERE!!!! Ride the coasters in order the first time, I did that on my first visit in 2010 and was very happy I did. Raven fills up quickly, which is another good reason to do so. All of HWs coasters are great at night, ESPECIALLY VOyage and Thunderbird. The entire rosebowl area of Voyage... actually the entire back half of Voyage... is absolutely dark which makes the ride phenomenal. Gobbler Getaway is a fun, and very nicely air conditioned, ride... and the Turkey Blasters are usually in very good working order. Make a point to allow time to ride both Wildebeest and Mammoth. Both rides can have wait times ranging from 45 minutes to 2 hours, and I promise both are absolutely worth that wait!!! If possible, allow enough time to get a Thunderbird and Voyage night ride, and if you have to skip Legend to slide into Raven's queue before the shut it down, DO SO! Raven is an absolute riot, and a very good way to end the night. Ride the Rough Riders bumper "animals". They are a LOT of fun, and quite fast. Finally, and most importantly, if you like Voyage after riding it once, make a point of riding it this year as many times as your body can possibly handle it. Then, ride it one more time.

I suspect that with Snoop Dogg, anything regarding trees has a totally different meaning. Or grass. I hear he's a great gardener. -
You want to know what my best FL moment was? It was standing inside Millie's nice, dry station as a lowly regular line person, and laughing heartily at the Fast Laners who were stuck in their line outside in one of Sandusky's nice COLD early June afternoon rains. On a serious note, I dont see any changes being made, and I do think we have explored a good number of the most viable/feasible options, so I will just be a casual observer of the thread now.
-
Hahahaha, wow, Im glad to see someone else said it, because I was thinking it but thought to myself "Man, that makes me sound like a total Elitist, I need to buy Fast Lane next time Im at the park". While yes, the self-server thats in me sometimes would Love that as much as the two of you would, you are right, dragsterguy, in that it very likely wouldnt ever happen. Id be willing to place a very large wager on the bet that a very high percentage of people/Families in the general vicinity of KI (in other words, the most regular visitors) have Gold Passes instead of Platinum, and that would not bode well for the park and especially the pour souls at GR who would have to field all of those complaints.

Is that the one that used to be right near the entrance to BLSC's queue? If so, I wonder what took them so long to move it, as it was just in a rather "odd" place to me, and the only real business it likely got was for those entering BLSC, and that would depend on the line being at least 20+ minutes. -
You know, what I truthfully think would be a fabulous solution, and would give people the belief they have some genuine input in regards to the parks decision? Hold a vote, a very simple popular vote, where GP and PP holders are given the choice of any one ride in each area of the park to have open for ERT. One ride in Action Zone, one in Coney Mall, one in X-Base, one in Rivertown, and one in Planet Snoopy. Keep ERT at 30 minutes to minimize the loss seen by the park from a utilities and labor standpoint, and gain in the respect that there are now patrons at least somewhat equally spread throughout the park when the drink stands, eateries, games, etc open. I feel this would at least reasonably satisfy both sides, and there could even still be a form of rotation through the season by using the 2nd most popular from each section for the second half of the season. I want to again say that, I dont feel we as GP and PP holders are "entitled" to a thing beyond what is offered, I am just pointing out what I feel would be a good OPTION for both parties.
