And pardon the double post but, it looks like he is getting his Holiday crowd planning strategy from CLP.

How is one person operating two rides simultaneously even legal?? That has to be at least top 3 in the list of the absolute stupidest things that clown has pulled yet!

Kings Dominion Hurler 2017
IBEW_Sparky replied to Tr0y's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I read this while I was between vehicles at my Client's shop today, and I literally came out with the unedited version of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot when I saw that petition. I mean, really, thoosies??? I dont have enough hands for the amount of facepalms required. This is all 100% on point, the only part I dont quite agree with is the boycott by a bunch of thoosies affecting the park enough to delay a new coaster. Also, YES, their Delirium is incredible! -
Just as a good number of people selling a used car or flipping a house embellish its good qualities..... it tends to draw a larger crowd of bidders.

I am just really interested in the future of Hurler, and what direction they are going to go with that. -
August 18th Announcement for Cedar Fair Parks.

Sooooooo, KD just made their announcement for 2017. Planet Snoopy expansion, and things that KI and other CF parks have had for at least one or more years... Funpix and free wi-fi. -
Those facts played into my thoughts as well, when considering the possibilities. My initial thought was the ability for a developer to now come in and build all around the lake, but said economic and governmental/local restrictions could certainly make that an undertaking that would not be financially beneficial.
-
As I see it, this now creates a bit more motivation for CF to become more reasonable and fluid in its requirements/restrictions on the sale and future development of the land. With SC permanently closed, the parcel of land is now generating zero income, and is officially nothing but a tax and insurance liability. The issue, of course, is the feasibility of any possible redevelopment in today's continued financial and economic climate.

August 18th Announcement for Cedar Fair Parks.

Agreed definitely on the CP and Canadas Wonderland being less than stellar candidates for Winterfest, for sure! What steers me away from that being the only thing announced for CP, is the sandals/flip flops the Media got from CP. -
August 18th Announcement for Cedar Fair Parks.

Longer than would be justifiable considering the fact that all of the numerous re-trackings have been nothing more than a Band-Aid on an artery wound. I absolutely do not feel any amount of work by GCI would give anywhere close to enough "bang for the buck" to justify using them. And I am in no way at all anti-GCI, Prowler and Renegade are smokiing hot coasters, I simply dont see sufficient ROI from doing anything but a complete reconfiguration. Edited to also note that, the things that make Mean Streak "bad" to me wouldnt be remedied by that type of work, Trim Brake Fair would still keep the drop trim and the overly grabby MCBR. -

I agree with the time table on the RMC renovation of Mean Streak, but my thoughts are that they will announce it tomorrow anyway, along with whatever else they are planning. My reasoning for this, is that by next May there will be enough progress made that it will be blatantly obvious what is going on with it anyway, so waiting until next August to formally announce it will be quite the anti-climax. -
Definitely on the no b-balls!! Indyguy and I were talking about that at KD, and Im one of those guys who would fill the basketballs juuuuust enough to make them round and "look" right, but flat enough that any shmo who decided to play MJ while walking down the midway would get nothing but a "thud" on the first dribble. In regards to KI 2016, out of general curiosity, has the quality and efficiency of food service improved?

All day, every day. All I ask is for ONE 21+ day at a park per month, and it can even be a weekday!
-
Exactly why I would have planned it that way.
-
Totally agreed on Imagine vs Origins. We were fortunate enough to see Imagine again at KD a few weeks back, and they have integrated the pin juggling into that show, and also added a parallel bar and tumbling routine in the middle that the KI Imagine didnt have. In no way is Origins BAD, Imagine was just THAT good from the very first time I saw it.

I got off that thing after riding it, looked at the group I was with, and my response was "Well.... at least the scenery is great!"
-
OK, with reading that and a review I read on FB from a trusted Friend who rode it, I am quite interested in heading down in late Oct/early Nov to ride Lightning Rod and of course all of the other good ones (all but Mild Eagle). With your feelings on DB (which I share wholeheartedly) and what does make a coaster enjoyable for you, LR has a good shot at impressing me.

Crypto Closes Alabama Waterpark

Wow, when I read the title I thought to myself "Please dont let this be Splash Adventure". Thankfully, its not. . Pat has already had enough junk to deal with in recent years. -
Yes, Holiday World back in the day. Not exactly at the beginning of the year, but neither Raven nor Legend were shrouded in as much hooey as any of the others Ive seen. Reports from someone I trust unconditionally state that Legends plans were happily revealed at Stark Raven Mad.

Engaging once, and only once, I will explain my statement. The park enthusiast community is the single one Ive ever observed or interacted with that has a penchant for making Mt. Vesuvius out of an anthill when anything is placed on the ground besides concrete or grass. Where a simple stake in the ground can be transformed into a converstion/trasnformation/reconfiguration that is as likely to happen as the rebuilding of Son of Beast. I fully understand Oldschool creating the topic, as a point of observation or simple inquiry, especially when connected to the stakes observed within DA. What baffles me is how anyone can take that ONE stake (4 if you include the ones pictured in DA) and turn it into an impending major change on the 2nd most iconic roller coaster in the park. Actually, it could be argued that Racer is in some ways more iconic than The Beast. Now, it really shouldn't surprise me, as the two characters who put those cards into play are the two who have done very little since invading these Forums besides troll, and cause strife. I will say what others have said to you in the recent past.... I remember times in the past when you DID create some good threads, and make positive contributions to existing threads. I honestly dont know what has been or is going on in your Life currently that has created this change, and if its something bad Im genuinely sorry that you are going through it, but if you are doing this just to make a scene or spectacle, please stop and try to resume the posts that made you a decent member of the Forums. Me..... I will be blunt and brutally honest like those who know me personally off of these Forums know I always am.... and say that I genuinely have zero concern who does and does not like me or my Life on these Forums. I do not go out of my way to start conflict, but I will never, EVER, run from one. Im nice.... until its time not to be nice. This is the reason I abhor the way most of the parks in the US play Cloak and Dagger with new installations instead of stopping with all of the B.S. and saying "Hey, check out our new whatever we are building for next year" at the beginning of the season. That would virtually eliminate the trolling that, as Im sure you and I can agree on with the amount of time we have both been on this Forum, increases 100 fold when any new decoding thread is started.

Out of all of this, Kenben is the one person who actually "gets it". It is some form of utility locate/survey marker, nothing more, nothing less.

I had tossed around the idea of doing Sunday/Monday up at CP but I dont know how much Im feeling it to be honest. Its still up in the air, and who knows, I may decide A)To end up in Sandusky the 28th/9th or B)that Im done except for Pride and maybe one Haunt night and end up skipping the IB day as well.
