For someone like me who is a sheer speed and G force junky, I will definitely agree with the shortcomings of Millie... its got the speed, but not the Gs (with the exception of the RIDICULOUS positive Gs you get on the overbank while riding in 5-1, 5-2, or 6-1). That is also why I will happily re-ride I-305 over and over until my body absolutely forces me to take a break, and why I am most definitely looking forward to riding Fury at some time. With that said, that is also why... if i were ever inclined to return to an Ohio park after we move... Id like to see the compact to mid-sized woodie with a ton of positive lateral Gs. I just am too afraid of seeing a KI giga turning out like Diamondback 300+.

For some, coming back for a park is feasible and mentally justifiable.... for others, not.

I will be on the southeastern corner of the US by park open 2017, so all of this will be 100% moot to me, Im just looking at the different angles.

I definitely wish Dominator still had its lakeside view/placement, but it honestly doesnt keep me from enjoying the ride. Now, as for topic at hand, Im still looking at realistic installations for 2017, in other words a small to mid-sized wood coaster, one or two new flat rides, or (less realistic but moreso than the G word) a Maverick style coaster. What holds me from latching on to that idea is.... Intamin. Edit: Another possibility that I feel would fit in well at the park, is a Eurofighter like Mystery Mine (obviously without the themeing) or an S&S like Steel Hawg.

I see it, it definitely looks as if the simple pre-cast concrete wall with a square-cut passageway from the past has been upgraded with a brick/stone facade with an archway. It looks good!

Thank you very much, Oldschool, for saving me the trip to the Batavia plant next weekend to take a similar pic for the same reason, when I come down to process my Pass.

Maybe I should claim tax exempt non-profit, and show the Govt my bank statement as evidence LOL -
Train status monitor on Fury

Just tell the Officer, that you are trying to increase throughput on His/Her Highway :D I know... if done in an obviously joking and Respectful way... if I were told that when I was an Officer, it would have garnered a smile and chuckle from Me, and if I ran your DL and it came back clean without a laundry list of prior speeding offenses, it would result in a verbal warning. I had a pretty good sense of humor then, and things like that helped to ease the tension of the Profession. -
But..but.... what about the big land clearing behind Banshee? Sparky, who just HAD to

Its pretty cool watching the water come out of the water dummies on the last slow barrel roll on Banshee, lol. I had to watch twice to make sure I was seeing what I thought I was.

*cough tilt-a-whirl cough* :D

Upstop, I agree about the old carnival style lights, but the thing I like about the LEDs is that they have a much better reliability rating in instances where regular cosmetic upkeep is... shall we say... lacking. Id rather see LEDs lit, than regular lamps burned out.

I agree 100% on ditching the ridiculous purple, the green I can handle, as I am one who likes unity and subtlety. If they want it to "stand out" then OK throw some red for accent stripes, and maybe some chrome/silver. EDIT: LOL nah, if Hart had helped, it would be a lot more pastel, and "Scrambler" would be written like a newspaper clipped ransom note.

LOL... NO, because it induces more facepalm worthy posts!! j/k

Tie between 2009, where I was auction rider #253 for Diamondback and initially met some very good people... a few of which I am still very close Friends with... and 2014 where I spent the day and evening with my closest of those Friends who has become more of a Brother to me (Indyguy4KI) and another small group of wonderful people, and enjoyed Banshee immensely.

And for those who DONT overanalyze things, it is looked at simply as a tidbit of history, given merely as general park information. Dont make things what they arent.

Strickers Grove's Teddy Bear
IBEW_Sparky replied to ZosoBeast's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
30 miles IS close, not close-ish, not sorta-close..... 30 miles is close. I live 150 miles.... or as a time equation 2.5 hours... away from the park, and I regularly drive 85 to 100 miles each way from my home to Indy and back regularly. To hop from KI, to Strickers, and back is laughable, and actually a perfect time/excuse to go get lower priced/better quality and service food on the way. -

I had no idea the two parks were so close together.... I may end up doing the same as Magenta Lizard, and hitting both on July 14th! -
Maybe a new flume ride.... Loch Hawk??

Or Pat Koch, the Koch actually worthy of the Hall of Fame Induction. -
That Marketing team is now at K-Mart, lol.

Whatever it is, Im sure we can all agree it will be the one and only of its kind, the longest, wildest, most intense, whatever in the 513 area code and 45040 zip code. You know, since those records are always emphasized so much Sparky, only half-joking.
