  1. Malem, that is something I had in my head when I was looking everything over, but I didnt want to come off like some Prius owning Greenpeacer. That is actually one big part of an ROI equation that must also be factored in, I agree 100%.
  2. Pardon the double post.... I just wanted to make fully known that I am not anti-giga, at least if it provides a truly good ride like Fury, Im just A)playing Devil's Advocate in a way and B)hoping to show people each and every angle to look at other than just wishes, hopes, and dreams. Also, remember that Kings Island is not, and never was/never will be intended to be Cedar Point South, no matter how much some would possiibly want that.
  3. Again I say, ridership isnt an accurate representation of attendance. If it were, the parks wouldnt so happily release those numbers. Attendance figures are kept vague at best for a reason. Now, in regards to the maps, thank you for showing those and giving your thoughts. The next time you go to the park, take a ride to the top of the Tower, and either use the viewers provided, or bring a camera with a good zoom lens. Take a look at the topography of the land, as well as the number of items that must be moved to put your plan into action. Take those findings, and place them into an ROI equation, as well as what it will take to create a safe passageway to those areas with the topography also taken into account. Once you have done that, I am betting that you will find only the area in blue still in the realistically feasible category. I could possibly be incorrect, and will do further research on my own, but from what my memory is putting in my head from what I have seen from multiple angles of the locations, I dont believe I am.
  4. First, ridership numbers... at least if we are talking about "X ride carried Y amount of people on it in a year"... cannot be used as an accurate correlation to attendance numbers. There are too many variables, from non-riders at the park, to how many multiple rides any given patron takes on any given ride. Second, there is no guarantee a given new ride will bring enough new riders to create a favorable ROI. Example, my opinion is that Valravn could be built at the bottom of Lake Erie, and Id ride it just as often. Finally... and this statement is truly not meant to come off as condescending, but a genuine desire as to your thoughts.... bring up a Google Earth image of the park, and tell me how you think the park would get people back to that area of land to the new anything.... giga or non-giga. Im truly having a hard time seeing a feasible path.
  5. Thank you for saying what I wanted to.... because no matter how hard I tried, I couldnt figure out how to do it my way without violating the TOS or site censors.
  6. After last years FailMania, if I were still a member of a club, I would without a shadow of a doubt pick HoliWood Nights.
  7. I just figured out what else those trains remind me of... The Mystery Machine!
  8. Exactly that. I dont actively wish for the park to fail, I simply choose to not contribute to its coffers for a number of reasons, not the least of which is its location. Its success or failure hinges on its current operator, and that is why there are a good number of us who are skeptical at best in regards to its success.
  9. With some of the reports I heard last season, Im sure there are some who would welcome that!! As for me, I know that I am an enigma, but part of what I enjoy about being on a ride... coaster especially.... is the fact that its just me and machine, with NO interaction for that time ranging from 18 seconds to 4 minutes 50 seconds. I am not a fan of game associates who are squawkers for instance, if I want to play it, I will, and will be LESS likely to do so if there is some associate acting like a Carney to get me to play. I understand both sides, I do, and I understand and fully accept there need to be humans who work the rides for means of checking restraints, line separating, etc etc. What I do wish, is that said humans would efficiently and responsibly operate said rides and attractions without what they think is "flair" (speeling) or the infamous "power hours". I see this program as a huge win, in the respect that those associates, as has been mentioned here, will no longer have to worry about carrying money on their person and have the fear of termination if their till comes up long or short.
  10. That, is the one thing that would make me put the KI app on my phone. I would LOVE that kind of efficiency!!!!
  11. And, keeping the tradition going of adding attractions that the competition to the northeast doesnt have, here is a sneak peek of whats coming in 2017 (provided there is a 2017 season)....
  12. And speaking of appearances, why is it that every time I look at the logo on the train, I expect to see the tornado scribble to all of a sudden turn into the Tazmanian Devil? Regarding the colors, the purple especially, it reminds me of the colors the PAAS Easter Egg Coloring Kit dye eggs!
  13. And that still is dependent on A)the ride ops taking the time to properly clean them or B)the park staffing extra employees in the stations to clean them. Both options are a pipe dream, at best.
  14. In an hour and a half, four trains had completed the load/run/unload cycle. Ludicrous.
  15. No clean up reports as of yet, I just posed the question to her Facebook post.
  16. And to continue the "this is the worst idea SIX has had in a very long time" thread..... a report just in from a Friend at SFOG states that in 20 minutes, 2 cars on DDD have loaded and dispatched, with the third still loading. The first two cars are stacked, waiting to unload.
  17. I absolutely couldnt agree more with that statement about 2015, and since I was unable to go to the park last year, I will have my SD card in my phone loaded with my kind of music and my headphones in the whole day enjoying solo time on the rides.
  18. I will be there for this one, without a doubt.
  19. I know Id have a very hard time looking at "my" old park every single time I looked out my window, or was outside in my yard on any given day. I cant even imagine how hard it is for a guy with his ego, so that probably plays into it as well. I dont even like seeing a car Ive once owned, after Ive sold it.
  20. Having four trains, and RUNNING four trains, are two entirely different things. The steps to using Wiki, should be A)Dont use Wiki, and B)Revert to step A. From what I remember from reading previous reliable statements on this site, the fourth train was, and likely still is being used for parts. Edit, lol, I was writing this at roughly the same time Terpy was writing/posting His response.
  21. That park was by far the one I thought of first when I thought "In what Universe were the heads of those who thought this would be a good idea?" Im sorry, but lets be honest, thats about as sound an idea as leaving a new Corvette in the parking lot of that same park, running.
  22. And as I said, I thought very clearly, UNLESS its as good as Fury 325 (so, yes I know what a B&M Giga is and can do/does). THAT is what I meant when I said "KI does not need a 100ft taller version of Diamondback". In other words, since further explanation is needed, I dont wish to see a faster version of a snore-machine. As for the rest, I think Terpy covered that part pretty well. Edit: Since I have no desire to see this opinion thread turned into yet another debate thread, I will re-iterate that... like I said in my post in the first place.... Id really like to see a terrain hugging twisty GCI similar to Prowler. Sparky, saying bye-bye to yet another thread.
  23. Id honestly like to see a GCI the likes of Prowler at the park. I feel they could work it into an X-Base expansion, and unless the park could guarantee a Giga thats as good as Fury 325, the fast, twisty GCI would be the better idea. The park doesnt need a 100ft taller version of Diamondback.
