  1. Looks like I will be attempting to find some way around this. I would seriously rather take a route that physically takes 2 hours more, than contend with the cluster-you-know-what that detours create. The ONLY thing good I can see about this, is truck traffic is restricted in that area, but I dont know how much that would reduce the congestion/delays/idiocy that takes me to my mental limit and beyond in these situations. Thanks for the heads-up (both here, and in the reply made in the CC thread last night).
  2. I had a feeling that was the case, regarding the debt, thank you for that clarification my Friend. It still sticks in my craw, though.
  3. The way I read this (yes I admit Im a cynic about things like this) is that they are playing a shell game to make themselves look healthier than they are, and their shareholders (like is the norm for America) get richer while their debt continues to stagnate with the debtors left holding said stagnant debt. Im sorry, but Im from the school that teaches "You pay your darn debts BEFORE the 'profit' is shared amongst the already rich". Yeah, yeah I know this has become the way of American business, but I am honestly curious because I am not fully knowledgeable.... can said debtors come forward and demand the use of that money for repayment of the stagnant debt, or are they simply happy collecting the interest for what looks to be indefinitely?
  4. Thats too bad, you guys are the few I would enjoy seeing. Im not going Saturday for a number of reasons, two of which are A)Opening day crowds and B)Im riding 3 of the 4 Alpine coasters that day.
  5. Im ordering ours this weekend, for use that Sunday.
  6. Im excited for the ride, and actually this brings up a good subject that I was discussing on Face when people were whining and crying about how "ugly" an RMC is. Here's the deal, Im a street/drag racer, and I know of some pretty butt-ugly cars that run low 8s or faster in the 1/4 mile that would make many "Ride Warriors" have to change their pants after a ride in it. You hang art on a wall, you ride a roller coaster for the release and to see how quickly it can raise your heart rate to 180+. Not bagging on you, Chris, as I agree the fresh paint looks good, but things like that are absolutely far from what makes me excited about a ride.
  7. I am certainly looking forward to my first ever trip to IB this year. I already have a soft spot for Tigrr, due to its similarities to a childhood favorite of mine, Der Flitzer, formerly located at Adventureland in Altoona, IA.
  8. No, the "test pile" was demolished in 2013 to make way for Banshee.
  9. Never seemed to be an issue for me. With the speed (which is what Dodge Ems SHOULD have) that the HW cars have, I have always simply P.I.T. maneuvered those who cant seem to master the rudimentary task of driving in a counter-clockwise circle. Spin em to win it! With that said, Cedar Point's have always offered Brad and I a good, and entertaining time the times we have ridden them. Again, let us hope the new Italian cars keep that trend going..
  10. Or Holiday World. Either of those two parks make the Dodge Ems at any CF park feel like a waste of space. I will say, however, that I was thinking the very same thing when I read the announcement of the new cars in regards to hoping they arent as governed down as KIs. Laughable is an understatement when describing those.
  11. Very much so! So much so back in 2009/10 I actually believed the sincerity of it. From someone who is as pro-PR person as dare-to-fly is trim brakes (a sentiment we both share) and is ALWAYS looking for the angle/spin to every word out of their mouths, that definitely attests to her job proficiency.
  12. You said it, Brother. Precisely the reason the park has not seen dollar one of mine, regardless of owner.
  13. I couldn't agree more. I would love to see a haunted mansion just beyond the railroad tracks, nestled into the location behind the new games. After all, every River Town in Ohio has rumors of a house that's haunted, why not KIs Rivertown? A haunted mansion of the "non kiddie" (AKA Boo-Blasters) variety would involve and require a good amount of theming.... Cedar Fair.... "nuff said. I, like you, would Love to see it, but about as likely as the return of Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal.
  14. Might partially explain why it failed. Let me just say.... location, location, location.... and thats NOT a location I would voluntarily put myself.
  15. You know, every time I read that, it makes me wish I had tried riding SOB, because the only part I found less than comfortable was the "transition" from the turn before the loop to the straight section that attaches to the loop, and also the subsequent "transition" after the loop. Those soup-sandwiches make the pyramids on Maggie feel nice! Its funny to me, because Im usually the one of the group thats hyper-sensitive to roughness. Wow, sorry about that, my mind is playing with me tonight!! That was a response to Terpy, concerning Manhattan Express.
  16. Although, VR/CG could be cool on TTD, to give you the visual of actually being in a Top Fuel Dragster on a run (Hey, is that a tire I see bouncing down the midway?).
  17. For my time/money, Id rather make the drive for KD than Carwinds, thats my feeling and opinion. I will go to Carowinds to experience Fury, but I dont see it being a regular destination for me. Remember, my body cannot tolerate the seats and restraints of the old B&M inverts, so the rants and raves about Afterburn are lost on me. Also, regardless of how good some think it is, flyers dont do it for me anymore, so that counts out Nighthawk other than an "OK, I rode it" thing, and while Intimidator looks a ton better than Diamondstack, I get more of a charge out of sheer brutal speed and G forces, so I305 gets the nod there. Also, everyone who knows me, knows my attachment to Dominator. Edit to remain on topic..... I hope the fistfuls of money they make off of this new soccer game goes towards repainting DB... its starting to look like something built by Sanford and Son.
  18. My honest thought is (and I could be WAY off base here, but its how I see it) that if CF were ever in genuine danger of having to file bankruptcy, all efforts would be put into saving Cedar Point, Kings Dominion, MAYBE Carowinds, Great America OR Knotts, and Canada's Wonderland. This way, it would still have one major park in each region as well as its International location in Canada. Its other parks (KI included) would be briefly put on the market, and then ultimately "Geauga Lake-ized" and the signature rides relocated to the remaining parks when the parks didnt sell. What COULD possibly make KI attractive enough for another company to spend the ludicrus amount of money that CF would ask for the park fully intact, would be The Beast and its History. If that were the case, the only company I could see pulling the trigger on the buy would be Herschend. Im not coming out and saying KI isnt a good park, Im simply saying that... in todays still volatile Economic climate... it would lose in the "Which Ohio park do we keep" battle and SIX wouldnt wish to get into another Ohio park battle.
  19. I havent bought mine yet, I am making VERY sure that all of our ducks are fully in a row for our planned move before I do, as my Platinum will get more use at KD.... 10.5 hours from Orlando where we plan to be.... than it will at KI or CP, which are 2 hours and 5.5 hours respectively from where I currently live.
  20. If they thought for a split second they could pull off putting in Three Card Monte or a Shell Game like on Brooklyn street corners, they would do it.
  21. Copied and pasted for obvious need/re-iteration....... Edit.... and before said issue you are alluding to came to light, I ate at a CF-A... once. I was highly unimpressed. No different than a Chevy guy not liking a Ford due to an unsatisfactory experience with the quality of their product.
  22. All I will say.... and whether you, or anyone else likes it is immaterial to me.... is that most companies are at least smart enough to keep potentially volatile/unpopular views under wraps. There is a reason companies have Spin Doctors/Politicians aka P.R. Representatives, to avoid circumstances such as the one you are alluding to. Edit.... and before said issue you are alluding to came to light, I ate at a CF-A... once. I was highly unimpressed. No different than a Chevy guy not liking a Ford due to an unsatisfactory experience with the quality of their product.
  23. The loss of revenue couldnt happen to a more deserving company, good riddance to Chick Fil-A. Theres one good thing to come from the CP offseason. Edited for clarity.
