You go to OU?! I live about 15 miles north of you. Have you ever heard of Jacksonville. It's near Glouster where Trimble High School is...I think you're the closest person to me on the site!
-
^^ It's not "what I wanted to see" when I can clearly hear the comments of others.
-
Ok...it's really not that complicated. Every single time I have been to the park since SOB opened, not once have I seen anyone come out of that line that wasn't bragging about the rush and excitement from the ride. And...not once did I say anything about attention from the injuries. I was talking about the ride in general.

Rides like inverter ships make me sick too but I have been on 3 rides of this type more than once and none have EVER made me sick. Of that helps at all.

Well...maverick is in a similar area at CP and it is red. Maybe they're going to give it a similar color scheme, which wouldn't be too bad. I personally think red fits in but they need to give it the tan supports etc. like Maverick.

Hey guys...I was just over at screamscape and I have some good news...there are concept art photos of manta posted...and they actually show proof that they're legit...and the track is not red, ITS BLUE. The track at B&M could very well belong to KI! Here's the link http://www.screamscape.com/html/seaworld_florida.htm

Yeah...search for Sheikra on rcdb.com and look for the photos of it's splashdown...then you shall see!

Those of you who are afraid to ride Drop Tower because of the Kentucky Kingdom incident are aware that Drop Tower is a much more updated version correct? The whole system operates in a safer manner than the one at KK did. If I'm not mistaken...and correct me if I'm wrong...a cable snaped on the one at Kentucky Kingom and the cables were on the outside....the reason for the accident. The cable is what had severed the girls foot...plus I'm not sure that it used magnetic brakes.
-
Chef, you also are aware that today was math and Science day? The physics class at my high school was there....that's probably most of you're issues.
-
Could it come up out of it like Sheikra does and do a turnaroud but over the midway? Or a really...really tight overbank or Behemoth type turnaround?
-
OK!!!! Slight confusion. In that second picture...if it does indeed turn out to be a splashdown...which it really looks like...where is the station going to go? Nevermind...I just realized that there is plenty more land at the bottom of the photo....
-
Well though I never claimed to be a statistical genius I think it is made pretty obvious when all I've ever heard is cheering after the ride and watched people "marathon", if you will, the thing about 4-5 times.
-
I didn't mean paid off as in financially....I guess that was a bad choice of words. What I meant was that it gained them some attention and brought them more public recognition considering that a majority of the public LOVES that ride. That was just a word choice issue...my bad.
-
So what is the status today? Has it been updated at all or did it even run?
-
I don't believe anyone has said anything about it "paying off". The popularity and status is what has been questioned. But again, the park has put way to much time and money into this one-of-a-kind expierience to get rid of it.

If it were me...SOB would never be removed. The ride is one of a kind and will probably remain that way for a while. I doubt we will see another woddie of this magnitude in the near future if at all...SOB was a pretty gutsy move, one which I personally think paid off. I have seen countless people on other forums that were so upset that they never got to ride it with out the loop, or haven't gotten to ride it at all, or were planning a trip solely for SOB. Tearing it down would be INSANE! Anyway...those Flight Deck trains are hideous...could they not have repainted them at least. They look like crap.

^ Would you happen to have a photo?

I agree with the first post. When Tomb Raider originally opened it was my favorite ride by far. However, last year....it could have been taken to a scrap heap and I couldn't have cared less. It was painful, jerky, and loud. Then on top of that, it seemed a bit rediculous when Durga's eyes lit up and the stones blinked.......and there was no music. And the "lava" seemed a bit pointless with no "roil" to it. I don't know but Paramount wasted their money. Not because it's a crappy ride but because they let it go to waste. Too bad they didn't just keep the same theming and storyline but remove all things Tomb Raider and Lara Croft.

Being that Flight Deck still has a pretty decent speed when it hits those breaks, what do you think the chances of Cedar Fair giving it a little more track? I like the ride the way it is, but it's just too daggone short. It needs a little bit more tracking added...but is this even possible at this point considering the ride type and it's company are basically finito? I don't know but personally I would Like to see it get a cobalt blue and white paint job. It would match the logo so much better. Does anybody know if they're going to change the trains to match the colors in the logo, or have they already? That red and black striping is going to bother me if it's still there.

^ Neither one of them should be honestly. They should just take one of those little outdoor versions with the goggles and put it and the Spongebob show in Nickelodeon Central. But I still stand by the idea of transforming Action FX.

I don't get one anymore either. I go with my dad alot and he gets totally lost and I have to lead him around. He can never remember how to get around...it's funny cause he gets mad about it.

angrybeaver's huge Photo/video trip report (4/26/08)

I know, but I just thought maybe they were dropping a hint...I mean you never know. It could be a red intamin...not necessarily an accelerator but a hyper...or just an intamin in general. Now, I'm sure I'm probably reading too much into it but it's a theory.
