If AZ says there's pics, then there's pics. There are many photos out there of Kings Island that will never be seen on the Kings Island fansites. Just gotta use your imagination like Steveo said.

I had my first roller coaster experience ever there. I rode the Little Dipper when I was like 5 years old, with my mom. It scared me so bad I didn't ride anything again till fall 2004. But for some reason I remember alot about the park. I remember how they had the chairlift thing that went out over the lake, and the wood coaster (that I never got to ride), and it seems like they had some kind of fun house / house of mirrors. But for some reason one thing I remember vividly is the drive there. I must have been real excited or something. I moved back to Ohio in spring 2002 so in theory I could have gone in its late days, but I wasn't into thrill rides then. It's a shame too - I missed out on King Cobra and Screechin Eagle.

Didnt you all know that we are not getting the coaster? They are selling it to Kentucky Kingdom, and just storing it at KI temporarily.

I am going for Vortex of course. Then I will go to Troika. Then I guess I'll walk around and figure out something to do. And Paul are you still going on about that White/Nerdy thing?

Dunno - but this is.

Very well put. I once went in on my day off and rode Beast and heard the THWACK THWACK THWACK coming from Vortex as the train dropped. But the train was empty so they were already aware of the situation. I saw it several times - and it typically only shuts the ride down for 5-10 minutes. The train has no problem making it around the track - even empty. But they still fix it right away. Those little tiny wheels get HOT. Don't know how much detail I can go into - but basically the wheel has a small radius - so considering the train moves at 55mph it heats up. This can cause the vinyl or whatever it is (it feels like really really hard plastic) to heat up and come off. But theres plenty of spare wheels - as it is something that is inevitably going to happen. Some parks even give blown wheels out at enthusiast events since coaster nerds like that kind of stuff. A friend of mine has a wheel from Superman: Ride of Steel at SFNE.

Nothing would/has happen(d). They would/do close and fix it and everything would/is be peachy keen.

Well that would, in fact, be incorrect. Opinions of maintenence staff do not change how tall a ride is. -
The Voyage is considered a "family" ride too - but it is one of the (if not THE) most intense roller coaster I have been on. It isn't my favorite - but it is one crazy ride. But it is still considered a family ride - and apparently families love it. So Maverick could still be a family ride. I think to be a good park you have to have a mix. You have to be able to cater to everyone. Kings Island is a good park in this way. It has some ok high thrill rides for the big kids - and an amazing kids area for the little kids. It also has a large variety of flat rides and roller coasters that enthusiasts and families alike can enjoy. But I think money spent on adding things like Italian Job would better spent toward adding a high thrill ride or a low thrill / family ride. Trying to make a ride that is a mish-mash of the two is a mistake in my opinion. It is too scary for many little kids - and too boring for the big people. True alot of people like IJST - and I know everyones going to be all "omfg IJST is such a huge people magnet" but at least as many people think it sucks as like it. And I have talked to non enthuiasts who visit the park once a year who think it is stupid. Avatar on the other hand is a perfect addition. It is a fun as hell ride for thrill seekers - and any intimidation the ride may cause to children is easily overcome by the big likeness of Aang on top of the gondola. It truly is a ride where both thrillseekers and families can ride together, and everyone can walk off happy. Parks need to add more rides like this - and not waste their money on disguising crappy low thrill rides as fast fun rides that everyone can enjoy. Thats just my opinion. Also Poland.

Thats good that they are going to fix it. It is such an awesome ride. I can't wait to ride it agian.
-
I hope its true - and there is a lot of evidence to back it up - but I don't want to get my hopes up till I see the announcement.
-
No its not.

Simmer down guys lol. If they announce it now youll be in a fluster cause you will be so excited for it. If they dont announce it now youll be in a fluster worrying what it might be. Just don't worry about it and enjoy your offseason.

As much as I LOVE Son of Beast - I am inclined to agree. Its not a good business move to keep it. If it was extremely popular - maybe. But even on days when Face/Off's line is over 1.5 hours - you can count on a 20 minute wait at Son of Beast. I will be saddened if they remove it - since it will be the loss of a great roller coaster - but I would understand the decision.

Isnt this the default IPB2.0 skin? I like the increased speed of IPB2 and the multiquote option. As everyone said - this skin is too busy looking - makes it seem not user friendly. My only complaints about it are that I have heard IPB2, while being way more secure than 1.3f, isn't as stable. But that was right around the time 2.0 and 2.01 came out - so maybe this version is better. I havent followed development. Kudos on a pseudo-seamless conversion. It went smoothly for the most part it seems.

IPB2 has many many improved features over IPB1. Glad to see you guys updated! Is this what caused the crash a few days ago?

And come can play a mean washboard. Is anybody else getting this besides shadow2k3?
