HILARIOUS!

2 Fridays ago Chief. I was over 2600. Not a big deal.
-
Oh ok - didn't catch that. So I guess we only need 11 more then! I am on the official roster right?

Its the boomerang - Vekomas most mainstream design. Theres the Boomerang, Invertigo and Super-Invertigo. They all are coaster like flat rides featuring two lift hills, a cobra roll and a loop.

Due to the thingy my post got deleted so I am going to re-ask it. If we do not get enough people - which probably won't be an issue - but can we just rent big chevy 15 person vans instead of a bus or what? Since we need like 30 people to make the price of the bus reasonable - if we don't get enough it would probably be cheaper to rent a van or two to keep the cost down. Also - I am still stoked about this trip. I heard Indiana Jones might be going on the trip. The whole time were driving there will be this big red arrow going across the map Ohio from Mason to Akron to Sandusky.

I don't even remember what I have posted since Oct 6. Besides that was 2 weeks ago not last week! Oh well - sorry to hear you had the sql crash - glad to see you got the site back on its feet. Good luck with your next go at the upgrade.

Or the funnel cakes.

Says who? PKINickRoedl I know the test seats / mock seats whatever you want to call them at Cedar Point refer to them as "Test Seats" on the signage.

The 28th is my birthday - but I think I'll be staying away - it will be so packed. Still that is the last weekend isn't it? Hard to believe the season is over already - it seems like yesterday we were starting preseason.

Whatever it is - there is a camera hanging down from it to watch the riders. It pretty much is looking straight down the lift - so whatever it is attached to is going to keep the train on the lift. Its awesome to watch the tv monitor for those cameras - especially lift 2 - where the train flies up toward it, then gets closer and closer until it starts falling away from it again. The looks on some peoples faces is hilarious.
-
Yeah Face/Off does have a "stopper" but its not like the stoppers on Avatar. It has a big metal thing on the end of each lift - so the rails aren't just exposed.
-
Exactly! They are a size limiter - not a secondary restraint. It is how they tell the restraint is properly locked. And Son of Beast's seats have alot of room. They aren't good on tall people - but they have a ton of room for big people - as does IJST.
-
Its up to the insurance companies really. If they won't insure it - its just a big wooden sculpture.

Except events do occur at specific times - say like 8pm on Tuesday - for example. The challenge runs like 8-10, and after 10 it is OVER. The submissions are reviewed, and the winner chosen, and then there will be a day for tribal council. All votes have to be PM'd by a certain time or you end up voting for yourself. This is just an example of how it was run last time. It is alot of fun though - but it does take some work.

That is as high as the train goes. The only way you'd be able to get it to go higher is if you somehow got the catchcar to grab the very front car. Even then I highly doubt it would go much higher. As far as a manual device to stop the lift - if the PLC goes haywire - it will E-Stop itself. If there is nothing wrong with the PLC - but still something wrong - the operator can press the E-Stop button. Face/Off also has "Ride Stops" - just like a flat ride. It is operated in every way like a flat ride. From an operations stand point - it is not a roller coaster.

Oh I fit on Duhlee just fine - but when I went to ride maXair - I thought I better try the test seat just in case - and the seatbelt just barely buckled. I thought I wasn't going to make it - but I got in line anyway. When I got to the ride, I found out the seat belts are the same size as Duhlee's and I had plenty of slack. Drop Zone and Flight of Fear both have belts that vary from seat to seat. Some of Drop Zone's seat belts can vary by 2 inches or more. I am pretty big - and I know I can fit in seat 1. All but one of my eight or so rides on Drop Zone have been in seats 1-3. I do agree though - they need test seats.

Seriously. We aren't getting anything. Well get some new staff and maybe some new garbage cans if were lucky. Maybe one of those spiffy new Cedar Point style maps next year. Besides that - I wouldn't count on a whole lot.

Its actually mostly a labor thing I believe. If they have the associates - they will open rides. They don't like sending people home early, or having people standing around with nothing to do. Last year, we needed three to run Vortex, and if for some reason we ended up with 4 - we would send one to another ride. If we had 5 we would open Troika. Due to labor laws - I believe minors cannot work past 9pm on school nights. Also I'm sure there are some people who are legally allowed to work Friday but for some other reason can't.

I would call it mint - but it is definately closer to blue than green.

Well the core is the same structure. The towers at Kings Island and Magic Mountain look very similar except for some extra structural steel on the Kings Island tower which makes it look like the Eiffel Tower.

Are you sure its drained into a creek - because it contains chlorine. I would sooner think it goes into the sewer system. I did hear that it is the same water every year - but have a hard time believing that. Supposedly there are two reservoirs, one for White Water Canyon and one for Boomerang Bay - that hold the water during the off season. I think the pond CoastersRZ is reffering to is indeed used just during the season. Check out this Google Map - you can see the pond, just above the WWC loading platform.

I would vote Italian Job - but its not a choice.

I think before they retheme the station they should work on making it smooth. It isn't as bad as Blue Streak - but its pretty rough. The backward side is a little smoother - and it has more airtime, as its travelling backwards, and theres no seat back to restrain you during moments of airtime.
