On a lighter note: Does anyone know if they are going to do the steel door opening on Friday only? or will it now be Thursday? (When the monsters bang on the door)? -

Yeah, they fenced off Nick Univ at 5pm, but you didn't leave the park, you walked around and kept enjoying the larger rides; got a bite to eat and relaxed... -

My kids are 5 and 7 and have been at the last 3 seasons of Haunt and Love it! my kids know most of the scareators and are friends with them. My kids ask when does (HH) it start up again.... Not every kid is scared by Haunt. If you teach your kids right, it can be an very enjoyable family night out..... No one has the right except me how to raise my kids....I don't tell other parents to bring or not to bring their kids; it should be the parents choice. Those of you that know my girls, know what I'm talking about. -

What metal detectors? I seen a kid in the park last weekend with a knife; the detectors have been deactivated the last couple of times into the park. Talk about safety! I seen a kid sneak in past the detectors; I told the security guy that was there the kid bypassed him and the detectors and his reply was; the ticket people will catch him? Now how will the ticket people know if he has something on him that could be dangerous? Osmosis? -

Your right; in the past seasons of Haunt, it has been if you are in the park and plan on staying, your in; continue riding and eating and having fun; Nick Universe is the only part that actually closed down as was fenced off. I can't imagine going out for an hour and then coming back in, what (genius is too nice) moron came up with this? -
We rode last night; there are lights going up the first hill, going around the last curve before the hill to the helix, and at the top of the hill to the helix.

The other half isn't really not used; It is still set up for Urgent Scare.

I heard they are expecting 3.5 million people that day.... Can you believe it...

What about Girl? scouts? I emailed the lady at Kings Island handling this; asking about girl scouts; and she hasn't replied.... go figure. I received a reply on 7-27-09, and it's for boys only Not really fair to Girl Scouts.

meet ups are cool, but to have a 13 year old meet up with a stranger just doesn't seem right. I know pass holders I see on a regular basis, that are just plain weird and wouldn't trust them around a kid. Better safe with a friend then Hurt or Dead. Why take a chance.

Your awful trusting to go with a stranger.

In row G50 is an area of 10 parking spaces! Right at the cross walk; inside the white post. When I was little I think it was a tram stop. But we don't use the trams anymore. Any reason it can't be better used by the park? 1. reclaim them as parking spaces for Gold Members. 2. Place some picnic tables there to eat on (but that would be encouraging families not to buy in the park; but on a safety point, it's safer to eat at a picnic table than in a hot vehicle). Anyone else noticed them?

Then he is doing better than last season, Peanut seen him with a feather Quill and ink bottle; The year before that was a chisel and rock......
-
Last season there were numerous people taking and placing pictures on here. this year there are very few to view. Is it the Economy that has caused this lack of them?
-
Try and point out the benefits to having a pass: If you go three times, the pass paid for itself, go more than three and your saving them more money each visit. Plus don't forget when you buy a pass early in the season, you get FREE parking ($10.00 to $15.00 saved each visit). If they buy a family pack (4) they save even more; Season Passes are the way to go. Lets not forget that nice waterpark that comes with a pass (mom and dad can relax there). Maybe you should ask Santa to put a season pass in your stocking for next season. Not to rub it in, but my daughters hit 42 visits today! How much would that have cost me for individual tickets and parking?

I had to run it twice, I hate Internet Explorer 8.... There is voting in the other thread, sorry.

Gold passes were available this year, but the sale has ended. Right now only the regular season passes are available.

That group was rumored to be Mr Kintzel.

I didn't do two post on purpose; I notified Capt Nemo I was having problems. I've noticed it a few times, exspecially with searching threads; with IE8; It's real buggy. But I am glad someone deleted one of them.

Sorry peoples, I can't find the original topic as to "Is Avatar a Coaster"; but I emailed the manufacturer and this was their view on it. Is it always powered? assisted? or coast? Hope this doesn't violoate anything. The Gondola is always connected to power and the drive of the motor is always on. However, at the low point of the track, the motor, even though powered, is not really adding to the gondola's momentum. This means at certain points during the ride, the gondola could be considered to be 'coasting'. On a launch or lift-hill coaster, once the vehicle or train exits the launch or leaves the lift hill, all of the energy is in the system. Where, the system is the car or train. The train or car eventually comes to a stop due to losses (friction, wind resistance, and rolling resistance) and/or braking. The difference is that Avatar (Zamperla's product name: Disko Coaster with Skater gondola) has the ability to add energy during the ride into the system (i.e the gondola). There are many coasters that have motors on-board, such as our Dragon coaster. These are still coasters, but they are classified as Powered Coasters. Furthermore, just as you can classify a coaster as inverted, sit-down or stand up. I'd consider the Avatar as a coaster, I'd just classify it as a 'disko coaster'. Some people may call it a Skater Coaster, but the Skater and Disko coasters are the same platform, they just have a different seating arrangement. So, in my opinion, the Avatar is a powered, disko coaster. Hope this helps. Jay Jay Crisler, P.E. Director of Engineering Zamperla, Inc. 49 Fanny Road Boonton, NJ 07005 USA

Actually the beards are not fake; they have a speciffic meaning. An Amish male wears a beard to show he is not available; he is taken, Married. Single Amish males do not wear one to show they are single and can play. Sort of speaking.
