  1. I know its probably the angle of the camera screwing perspective up, but the track looks like it'll be to short to get to the next support. Can't wait to see this sucker topped off!
  2. I have to admit, all the giga coasters have some sort of awe inspiring support structure to gawk at, F325 being no exception.
  3. Would Cedar Fair even go with RMC for anything after what happened with the New Texas Giant? They usually try to go with companies with consistency, especially in regards to safety. If they do, I wouldn't rule them out completely. They do look like fantastic rides. Just don't advertise them as woodies, please.
  4. While we're talking Mack here and though I am in favor of any mice coasters, one model I think would suit Kings Island is a water coaster. I feel the dry park could use another water ride, and you'd get a coaster in the same bag. Something like Poseidon at Europa Park. When Vortex's life expires, Mack might be a viable candidate for a replacement looping coaster as well, particularly one that matches Vortex's height requirements.
  5. The first drop angle is 81 degrees according to the page on Carowinds' website. That's about what Millennium Force, I305, and Leviathan have. https://www.carowinds.com/swarm/dive-into-the-fury/ride-stats
  6. Yeah, look at the set of photos TheBEASTunchained posted further up (post #369). That beam has both teal and yellow on it.
  7. ^It does have yellow on it, just not at the angle from the webcam's perspective.
  8. ^Leviathan has a similar support beam supporting the first drop as well, and it too is colored the same as the track.
  9. I was lucky enough to visit Universal Studios Orlando back in the late 90's to catch a glimpse of that building. Really glad I got to do it after reading this.
  10. ^If you put one in Rivertown, you could go for a mine motif.
  11. If Kings Island does another dark ride, why not use either the former Crypt building or perhaps the Action Theater building?
  12. Kings Island has a sort-of Winterfest going on right now, the Eiffel Tower is still lit up with the cycling colors. Its actually a nice sight to see during the off season, especially in winter.
  13. Well, if it weren't blatantly obvious from my avatar and some of my posts, it would be college basketball, particularly attending games in person. While I mainly go to Cincinnati games, I also tend to check out Xavier and other area teams who are doing well. Conference play, especially against the better teams, are quite fun. Looking forward to going to see the Bearcats play UConn, Memphis and Xavier at home later this year.
  14. True, but we've been lucky with our Vekoma Inverigo model in that it hasn't had as many incidents. My theory as to why Invertigo went down in numbers is because the GP pretty much view Banshee as a bigger, better version of Invertigo. Also, compared to the rest of Action Zone, its kind of tucked away from the rest of the major attractions. I mean, you have the entrances to Congo Falls, Drop Tower, Delirium, Banshee, and Bat kind of in a clump together with Invertigo back behind Kings Island Theater.
  15. I recall during several of my visits this past season that the Diamondback crew would ask guests to board within 45 seconds. The tone they used over the loudspeaker was as if they were angry at guests. When they did attempt to up the capacity numbers, they did so at the expense of guests' comfort. There's a way to do it right, it just didn't happen this season, at least from what I saw.
  16. From my observations, the seat belts weren't to blame for Diamondback losing riding numbers. It was the spiels and plain lackadaisical attitude of the crew. There were times they sat for 10's of seconds without doing anything. The check probably wouldn't take any longer than how Banshee does it. Granted, Diamondback has more rows and longer trains to get to, but it shouldn't be down the numbers we're seeing.
  17. Stay away from the neighborhoods surrounding UC as well (Clifton). If you go on the west side, stay out of Price Hill. Also avoid Norwood.
  18. Then why aren't all the rides from this list on there? Not to mention the rest of the world. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/30415-rides-and-slides-2015/ Just asking for a little consistency here.
  19. Wait...if this is supposed to be a SIX/FUN-esque thread, then why is Thunderbird shoehorned in there?
  20. Well, you have to understand that for people in the greater Cincinnati area, even a snow dusting means the end of the world and people stock up on bread and milk. I wish I were kidding.
  21. ^Well, in this case, yes, if you view it from a certain context. KICentral gets loads of hits from people looking up Kings Island news. Linking to the original source ensures that the information isn't being made up by KICentral members. Other people could come on here and mistake news from being originated from here instead of the park. Just because news has an obvious source doesn't mean you shouldn't post the link. Trust me, I get your sarcastic remark. I thought a lot like that at first. But this site has certain obligations to the park, therefore, KICentral and its members benefit a lot from it, and so does the park.
  22. I rather like the idea of off season tours. One thing I would love to do is get to be in the park and see it after it snows. It'd be a photographer's paradise.
  23. Considering there wouldn't be much to do and the driving distance in what is likely to be adverse driving conditions, I'd give a resounding no.
  24. Could someone list off a few specific songs that were played at Playlist Live! this year so I have a good idea what kind of material to use for an audition?
