  1. Or at least direct said poster to call the park about the incident.
  2. This kind of makes me wonder if KK is reading this website and will be doing those sorts of things to other KIC members...
  3. I've been meaning to get around to eating at the RHoFG this season. Just out of curiosity, what are the portions like there?
  4. I know its 5-ish hours away, but would SFGAm be kind of considered to be within Detroit's reach?
  5. Its almost like Kentucky Kingdom knows they aren't doing well or something.
  6. Our next immediate ride won't be a roller coaster. In terms of guessing KI's next coaster, I think it won't be either of those. Of the two choices, though, I would pick a modern woodie over a giga to come first.
  7. For those who don't follow social media, KK's posts are vacant of mentions towards any 'preview' weekend(s).
  8. I think a curved drop brings out the inverted aspect more. Having laterals coupled with the drop lets your legs swing a bit. That and inverted coasters aren't normally known for airtime, though Banshee does due to its steep angle of descent and the fact it doesn't have that little pre-drop dip that most B&M inverted coasters have. There's other factors like space, what things the park(s) request, etc.
  9. What do you man by 'standard' drop?
  10. I'm starting to feel better and better about not having purchased a meal plan yet...
  11. ^So the Drop Tower crew calls the Flight of Fear crew every cycle? At what point in the Drop Tower cycle is Flight of Fear allowed to launch? That lifting mechanism (which still weighs quite a bit) is nearly in constant use, whether its lifting the carriage or lowering back down to get it again. Why just Drop Tower? Something about all that doesn't add up.
  12. I'd like to know how Drop Tower and Flight of Fear crews know what the other ride is doing. There's a bit of a visual barrier.
  13. They're unusually silent on their vaunted social media outlets today.
  14. - Rivertown because Beast and Diamondback - Vortex and that sleek nose of the front car - Vortex, the orange rails are nice and flashy - Beast, no lights
  15. Well, I do hear of an assembly of sorts next Friday. Something about a few robots voiced by James Spader.
  16. Because, IMO, a new coaster won't be enough with the PR nightmare they are currently facing. I hope this isn't their attempt to tuck it under the rug.
  17. The nearest Dinns to KK, technically, are in HW. Charles Dinn's daughter went on to start CCI, who designed Raven and Legend. They went on to become Gravity Group, who designed Voyage. I also hear there's a pretty good Dinn coaster about just a bit northeast from KK. Just notin'.
  18. Frankly I'm surprised they're building any ride at SWO at all.
  19. Just looked over the list of all the coasters in Florida, and specifically Orlando, and these records should be easy to pull off, even with a smaller B&M hyper. For Florida, SheiKra is the tallest and fastest (200 ft and 70 mph) and Cheetah Hunt is the longest (just over 4,400 ft).

My thing with adding things near the entrance would be something messing with how the main entrance looks. I (personally) don't want things interfering with that iconic sight of the Eiffel Tower.
  21. That's true, and with that ride, there's so much grey area to cover. Makes my head hurt just thinking about it.
  22. Edited due to being corrected about certain information.
  23. RCCA was fired midway through construction and SOB was finished in-house. It had to go through several re-tracking projects through its entire life, a Band-Aid style approach as it was put in the forensics report from 2006, where something was fixed over a short term period without thinking of the long term effects. Paramount did a lot without consulting a proper design firm, mainly as, I imagine, no one would touch it. I imagine even RCCA was given lots of incentive to build it at all. Werner Stengel, the main designer (who essentially designed a wood coaster like he did a steel coaster), distances himself from it.
  24. ^I imagine no one could have that much admiration for Ed Hart other than himself. I think I see his ego leaking across the Ohio River.
  25. That site and its owner have a thread about banning selfie sticks at parks, I doubt you'll see him with one. Its kind of a double edged sword with them. They do produce some decent material and any park would be really dumb to refuse their attendance, but they get away with some weird stuff and I'm not a fan of their behavior.
